Nice interview
John Huston talks about his life and career in this enjoyable interview from a Canadian talk show. Among the things that Huston discusses are playing a lame crippled Abraham Lincoln, how he learned all about writing and directing from an acclaimed stage director, it was easier to direct his father Walter Huston than it was his daughter Angelica, Marilyn Monroe lying on the ground for her audition for "The Asphalt Jungle," the arduous shooting of "The African Queen," and Humphrey Bogart nicknaming him "The Monster" because he took Bogart to locations he didn't want to go to. Moreover, Huston relates a funny story about how Robert Morley once tried to make him buy an old racehorse that was well past its prime. However, the best anecdote Huston shares concerns an old black man who auditioned for a small role in "Fat City" who had to have someone read all his lines to him in order to memorize said lines due to the fact that he was illiterate. Worth a watch for Huston fans.
