Spotify has distributed over $100 million to podcast publishers and creators since January, according to a report published on Monday.
The report, from the New York Times, says the payout is rooted in a program launched earlier this year that expanded revenue streams to eligible hosts and programs in an attempt to attract more creators from platforms like Amazon, SiriusXM and YouTube.
More than half of Americans over 12 have watched a video podcast, mainly on YouTube, a January Edison Research report found. YouTube claims to reach one billion podcast consumers monthly, surpassing traditional audio platforms like Spotify and Apple Podcasts. Although Spotify introduced video podcasts in 2019, it trails YouTube, with about 170 million monthly podcast listeners out of a total audience of 675 million. YouTube paid over $70 billion to creators and media companies between 2021 and 2024.

Quentin Tarantino is one of the most revered filmmakers of his generation. From Reservoir Dogs to Django Unchained, Tarantino has never failed to amaze fans and critics with his incredible genius and filmmaking talent. However, when many of us hear the name ‘Quentin Tarantino,’ his bloody Kill Bill saga is sure to come first to our minds.
Way back in 2003 and 2004, the filmmaker unleashed Kill Bill: Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, a two-part cinematic spectacle that shocked the world with its brilliant infusion of samurai swordplay, spaghetti western grit, and anime-inspired violence. Essentially a revenge saga for the ages, the franchise has today assumed the status of cult classic, drawing in viewers even today.
At the heart was Beatrix Kiddo, aka the Bride, portrayed by Uma Thurman. A former assassin on a relentless quest for vengeance, both films not only turned out to be box office successes but also cemented their place in pop culture,...

Mel Gibson's controversial 2004 biblical epic "The Passion of the Christ" is riding high on Netflix this Easter season. According to FlixPatrol, the film was the fourth most-watched movie on Netflix in the U.S. on April 21, 2025, right behind "iHostage," "Oklahoma City Bombing: American Terror," and "Despicable Me 4." That selection is a testament to the diverse range of movies available to stream on the platform, but Gibson's feature is probably the most polarizing of the bunch, as the prickly subject matter of "The Passion of the Christ" is still divisive after all these years.
"The Passion of the Christ" tells the story of Jesus of Nazareth (Jim Caviezel) during the final hours of his life, in which he's betrayed by one of his disciples, tortured endlessly, and crucified. The film is also notable for its extreme and shocking violence, which is comparable to the so-called "torture porn" craze...

Despite officially endorsing President Donald Trump ahead of the 2024 elections, Joe Rogan isn’t going to toe the party line when it comes to the Fifth Amendment.
Right now, the United States is in the midst of one of the most important constitutional crises in its history as the Executive Branch continues to wage war on the Bill of Rights and the checks and balances that are supposed to protect America from tyranny. Earlier this month, the Supreme Court ruled in an unambiguous 9-0 decision that the Trump administration must facilitate the return of Maryland resident Ábrego García to the United States after federal immigration officials deported him to a prison in El Salvador without trial, a ruling that the president and his Justice Department have roundly mocked and openly defied to the dissatisfaction of one of his most powerful political allies.

Joe Rogan is getting in on the fun, you guys.
As you’ve very likely heard about by now, Lauren Sanchez, Gayle King and Katy Perry were launched into space last week as part of a mission aboard Blue Origin’s New Shepard rocket.
The mission lasted fewer than 10 minutes.
The ship’s all-female crew set off on a flight that took them just beyond the threshold of Earth’s atmosphere… and the entire thing has basically been fodder for mockery ever since.

Joe Rogan Will Probably Lose His Mind if He Ever Gets Into the Trans Athletes Debate With Mark Cuban

Joe Rogan might not be happy with Mark Cuban’s take on trans athletes in women’s sports, even though the latter’s comments go against the Democratic stance. Cuban shared that he was against shoving the ideology of transgender inclusion down people’s throats when they’re not ready for it.
He shared that it shouldn’t be made into a national issue. Instead, he was of the opinion that the female athletes should get to choose whether to compete against the trans-athletes or not. However, Rogan is of the stance that it is unfair that the women are put in a position to choose.
Rogan finds that a natural woman competing against a “biological male” is not a level playing field. He was completely against trans athletes dominating female sports with their natural advantage.

There’s absolutely no denying the fact that the latest Nintendo Direct was filled with a number of incredible announcements for Switch 2. The Japanese gaming giant confirmed a number of games for the console, such as Mario World and Kirby Air Riders. Even developers such as FromSoftware are jumping aboard with The Duskbloods.
That’s not all; Nintendo also gave us a release date and pricing information about Switch 2. All these bits were exciting, but one thing that gamers couldn’t comprehend was the pricing for Switch 2 games.

While many in the community speculate what prompted Nintendo to go with this move, it seems like Donald Trump’s trade wars could be the reason.
Donald Trump’s tariffs can be blamed for Switch 2 game pricing
For years now, we’ve seen most of the Aaa titles debuting at the $70 price tag.

Joe Rogan has never shied away from speaking up his mind or expressing his opinions, no matter how controversial they might be. And it is a reason why his The Joe Rogan Experience podcast has blown up and become one of the most famous ones on the internet, helping him rack up $200 million net worth.
As Tax Day draws near, Rogan had to bring up the topic and discuss it with the guest of his recent episode, stand-up comedian Ron White. Naturally, he sparked another debate about how much taxes Americans have to pay, and then made some pretty strong points about how the tax system is built and carried out.

Disney’s live-action remake of Snow White, starring Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot, has faced significant backlash since its release, with both critics and audiences expressing disappointment. Zegler, who portrayed the titular character, has come under fire for her outspoken political views and her remark on the Disney classic. As a result, the $250 million production struggled to capture audiences and received poor reviews.
On a recent episode of Joe Rogan’s podcast, the host and his guest discussed the movie’s failure and the controversy surrounding it. However, they believe Disney made an even bigger mistake, placing blame on the studio’s broader strategy rather than just Zegler’s controversial role.

Podcaster Joe Rogan frequently uses his podcast to discuss his love for all things pop culture. The podcaster has been a massive fan of the sci-fi genre, often discussing his taste with his guests, including the Star Trek franchise, which is arguably the most-loved sci-fi series of all time.
During one of his podcast episodes, Rogan discussed the Star Trek franchise, but highlighted his issues with some of its core elements, including the Klingons, a race of aliens who are primarily depicted as villains.

In the conversation, Rogan cited the Klingons as an example of the franchise’s contradictions in its worldbuilding, which was a major hurdle for him as a viewer. Rogan’s comments hold some merit and may have even spoiled Star Trek as a whole for a casual viewer like me, and here is why.

Joe Rogan Confirms He Is Team Baldoni on the Latest Podcast Episode: “They [Blake and Ryan] F—-d Up”

Roe Jogan (podcast listeners will get the joke) is known to have an opinion on pretty much every trending topic recently. And it seems that the Lively-Baldoni feud is not the exception.
A bitter legal fight between actress Blake Lively and actor-director Justin Baldoni has taken Hollywood by storm, and podcast host Joe Rogan has jumped into the fray, siding with Baldoni. The dispute stems from their work together on the film It Ends With Us, a story about a woman caught in a violent marriage.
Lively claims Baldoni sexually harassed her on set and later tried to ruin her reputation. Baldoni fired back, accusing Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, of defamation and extortion, with lawsuits now piling up on both sides.

The trouble started last December when Lively filed a complaint with California’s Civil Rights Department.

Joe Rogan is team Justin Baldoni in the ongoing legal battle between the actor-director and his “It Ends With Us” co-star Blake Lively. Speaking on a recent episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience” with guest Brendan Schaub, Rogan said Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds “fucked up” in trying to bring “sweet, nice guy” Baldoni down.
“They were trying to take over the movie and the franchise,” Rogan claimed of Lively and Reynolds. “The whole thing is crazy. [Baldoni] is suing The New York Times. He has a great case there, too… She told him to come into the dressing room while she was breast feeding and then part of her complaint was that he came into the dressing room while she was breast feeding. They have text exchanges going back and forth. They just thought no one was going to come out with the receipts. Everyone is scared of them.

If you thought Hollywood drama was confined to red carpets and Oscar snubs, think again! The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) under Donald Trump’s government is bringing the kind of suspense that even Christopher Nolan couldn’t script. This time, the target isn’t a wayward superhero reboot or an ill-advised sequel. Instead, it’s media giants who dare to continue promoting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (Dei) discrimination.

Taylor Sheridan's array of TV shows like "Yellowstone" and "Landman" and movies like the Denis Villeneuve-directed "Sicario" have made him one of the hottest creators in Hollywood, which means the wildly successful actor-writer-director-producer can afford to speak his mind on many things. As it turns out, some of his stances are so bold that they're bordering on controversial -- at least, when it comes to one particular (and particularly beloved) Tom Hanks movie.
The film in question is "Forrest Gump," the warm-hearted 1994 comedy-drama that gave Hanks his second Best Actor in a Leading Role Oscar and truly cemented his status as one of America's all-time acting greats. Trump’s administration plans to create statues of presidents, activists, soldiers, and even pop icons under this new initiative. However, Ali’s widow is not on board with this idea and respectfully condemns Trump’s move.

Lonnie Ali shared that Ali’s religion prohibited any form of idolatry and therefore, a statue honoring the boxer would go against his religious teachings. Besides Ali, other sportspersons like late NBA star Kobe Bryant have also made it to Trump’s national heroes list.

If there’s one thing we’ve learned over the years, it’s that the truth can be a slippery creature—especially when you throw in some hot-button topics like gender, sports, and personal identity. Take Whoopi Goldberg, for instance, who recently set the stage for a conversation that might just get under Joe Rogan’s skin a little more than usual.
On The View, Goldberg boldly declared that female athletes “know what they’re doing,” while discussing the inclusion of trans women in sports.

Goldberg’s stance? Women are powerful athletes, and they don’t deserve to be sidelined in the conversation about fairness. But here’s the twist: this isn’t the kind of thing that could fly under Rogan’s radar.

Before he was a Ghostbusterand an Oscar-nominee, Bill Murray was a cast member on Saturday Night Live, where he entertained late-night audiences from 1977 to 1980. Now, the Golden Globe-winning Lost in Translation star, who attended the 50th anniversary of SNL on Feb. 16, is reflecting on what the experience was like.
Per Entertainment Weekly, Murray appeared on SiriusXM’s Sway in the Morning with host Sway Calloway and talked about what the 50th anniversary of Saturday Night Live meant to him. “It was surprisingly emotional. I wept three times in the show. It really got to me,” Murray said.
When Calloway asked what he wept for, Murray started off by telling a joke, “Oh, there were sketches that were dying,” he said. “No, I’m kidding.”

Billy Corgan thinks The Smashing Pumpkins are “one of the most misunderstood bands in the history of rock ‘n’ roll.” That’s what the alt-rock act’s frontman told Joe Rogan during a near-three-hour conversation on the latter’s über-popular podcast.
As the guest on a new episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, Corgan touched on a myriad of topics. At one point the pair started to discuss the renewed popularity of once-derided bands Nickelback and Creed.
While talking about polarizing music acts, Corgan said, “You’re about to see that Nickelback and Creed are about to go on a huge run of business. … They survived [the hate], and now comes the inevitable moment of, ‘It was really good’ … they wrote a lot of great songs.”
On that note, Corgan said that he believes that the Pumpkins will get more respect as the years go by, remarking, “It’s kind of how...

Oh, 1923, you really know how to stir the pot! Just when we thought the show couldn’t get any more intense, Season 2, Episode 2, decided to throw in a scene that raised eyebrows for all the wrong reasons. So, there’s Elizabeth Dutton, fresh off a brutal wolf bite, and instead of rushing to get the rabies shot, she plays the martyr card, refusing the treatment.

Now, we’re all for characters with a bit of backbone, but this? This just felt like a massive stretch. You know the old saying, “life’s too short to sweat the small stuff”, but when rabies is involved, this decision was anything but weird.
And fans can’t help but wonder if the scriptwriters decided to write this just to fuel some out-of-place controversy. After all, Taylor Sheridan already has a history of stirring up strong opinions,...

Over four decades later, veteran actor and Ghostbusters star Bill Murray has addressed the literary treatment of his late friend and collaborator John Belushi by Bob Woodward, calling the latter's work "completely inaccurate." The legendary comedian, actor, and musician Belushi was one of the original Saturday Night Live cast members and died in 1982, aged 33, from an overdose of cocaine and heroin.
Murray aired his opinion of Woodward's 1984 biography Wired: The Short Life and Fast Times of John Belushi on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast. "If he did this to Belushi, what he did to Nixon is probably soiled for me too. I can't take it," he said. "You could have two sources and everything like that, but the two sources that he had, if he had them for the Wired book, were so far outside the inner circle that it was criminal, cruel."

More than 40 years later, Bill Murray has a bone to pick with Bob Woodward over his literary treatment of friend and collaborator John Belushi.
Following Belushi’s death at age 33 in 1982, Murray called out Woodward’s 1984 biography Wired as “completely inaccurate”

I can’t take it,” he said on The Joe Rogan Experience. “You could have two sources and everything like that, but the two sources that he had, if he had them for the Wired book, were so far outside the inner circle that it was criminal, cruel.”
Murray added, “Belushi made people’s careers possible. Mine would be one of them. There’s a lot of people that slept on John Belushi’s couch. There’s a lot of people that stayed for free at his house until they made it in New York.

Bill Murray is coming to the defense of his long-time friend and fellow SNL alum John Belushi.

Murray called Woodward’s take on Belushi “completely inaccurate,” and suspects his sources were pulled from “the outer, outer circle” of people that knew him.

When people think of Joe Rogan, they’re often reminded of his podcasts and UFC commentary. That makes perfect sense since the star is widely recognized as a podcasting powerhouse. Do you remember when Joe Rogan wasn’t the semi-official mouthpiece for an entire political party? More importantly, does he remember?
Contrary to his current function, Joe Rogan wasn’t always an eager and willing propagandist who explicitly endorsed and supported the richest man in the world and the power-hungry President of the United States. In fact, there was once a time when the most popular podcaster on Earth urged the public to be wary of billionaires who, like Rogan’s current buddies Donald Trump, Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk, use their immense influence and unchecked power to control media narratives and distort facts about our fragile democracy instead of inviting them to bro down on The Joe Rogan Experience.

Joe Rogan has long expressed his admiration for Robert E. Howard’s Conan the Barbarian stories and has mentioned that none of the adaptations have done a good job translating them to the screen. However, in a recent podcast episode with comedian Felipe Esparza, Rogan mentioned that Jason Momoa did a great job in the 2011 film.
While the film was a box office bomb and generally received negative reviews, Momoa’s performance was appreciated and Rogan seemed to be extremely enamored by the Game of Thrones star’s performance. He also hoped that Momoa’s Conan would be explored better in a film directed by Quentin Tarantino.

Joe Rogan is no fan of David Corenswet’s upcoming debut as the Man of Steel in James Gunn’s Superman. Before the world got wrapped up in the It Ends With Us drama, the Sean Diddy Combs situation was making waves, and it still hasn’t quieted down. While many might expect this support to help Diddy’s case, it’s actually doing the opposite. West’s involvement is certainly not the kind of backing Diddy was hoping for, and it’s only adding fuel to the fire. The public is now left questioning whether this is helping or hurting his legal battle, spoiler alert, it is the latter.

Let’s get one thing straight – Mark Ruffalo’s Smart Hulk was a hot mess. While in theory, it seems fun that Bruce Banner and Hulk would join hands and become one, since when has the green rage monster been fun? He is known for his desire to Smash anything and anyone in his way. The best part about the Og Avenger was the dynamic between its two halves – Banner’s calmness and Hulk’s intensity. It was a treat to watch the two struggle for air.

Many actors passed on iconic roles — whether due to scheduling, fear of typecasting, or not having enough confidence in the material. Years later, Mel Gibson reflected on turning down some big roles.
The actor starred in many iconic roles, including 1979's Mad Max, 1987's Lethal Weapon, and 1995's Braveheart. He has also stepped behind the camera as a director and directed the critically and commercially successful The Passion of the Christ, among other projects. However, at the 2025 Megacon Orlando, the actor addressed passing on James Bond and Gladiator roles, per People.

YouTube and Spotify have been duking it out in the podcast space for years, with YouTube just this morning declaring it’s the #1 spot for U.S. listeners to find podcasts. But as the podcast industry has grown, both companies have become interested in its next frontier: video podcasts.
YouTube is the biggest home for video on the internet, so naturally sees plenty of podcasters (many of whom started as YouTubers) uploading their shows to its platform. Spotify, meanwhile, has signed major content deals with shows like The Joe Rogan Experience, and recently ran a campaign highlighting creators who’ve seen success with video podcasts on its platform.
Now, a new challenger may be entering the ring.
Netflix.
According to four people familiar with the matter who spoke to Business Insider, Netflix is exploring potential video deals with podcasters. This interest is spurred by YouTube’s consistent rise to not just podcast,...

If you thought The Night Agent's Gabriel Basso was a force to be reckoned with on screen, it turns out he is so tough he even spooked an Mma legend. Yeah, the dorky kid from Super 8 with the glasses. That guy. In a genre that relies on trick photography, quick edits, digital face-swaps, and countless expendable stuntpeople, there are those A-list performers that feel a twinge of embarrassment at faking it.
He's put everything he's learned into his short time on The Night Agent. But it's the action sequences that bring out his neurotic side. Performers don't just memorize the scene's blocking, stage cues, and dialogue, but also have to convincingly sell a phony gut punch — something they evidently failed to cover in his early days as a child actor on the set of Nickelodeon's iCarly. Pushing his body to further extremes all for the sake of building a better cinematic beatdown,...

Why Did Bruce Lee’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood Fight Scene Spark An Outrage? (Photo Credit – Prime Video)
Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood gave fans plenty to discuss, but one scene nearly derailed the conversation. The flashback fight between Brad Pitt’s stuntman Cliff Booth and Bruce Lee, played by Mike Moh, stirred major controversy. According to HuffPost, an early version of the scene would have humiliated Lee even further, showing him losing the fight outright.
The film became Tarantino’s biggest opening weekend hit and took liberties with Hollywood history. But while real-life figures like Sharon Tate and Steve McQueen got respectful portrayals, Lee – one of the most influential martial artists ever – was turned into a “bloviating a**,” as some critics put it. In the scene, Lee bragged that he could “cripple” Muhammad Ali, prompting Booth to mock him. The two squared off,...

In a Tuesday episode of his podcast, Joe Rogan was determined to give his side of the story after reports alleged that he had misled Kamala Harris’ campaign team about the opportunity of appearing on his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience.
In the book Fight: Inside the Wildest Battle for the White House, written by Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes, Harris’ insiders detail their frustration in trying to arrange an appearance on the podcast.
According to Allen and Parnes, Harris’ campaign team had gotten so far along in the booking process with Rogan that they had scheduled a nearby event in Houston with Beyoncé that would coincide with the interview. However, Rogan allegedly informed the team at the last minute that the date was no longer available. He proceeded to interview Donald Trump that same day.
