a nice Noah?

Warning: Spoilers
The show finally found a way to include some black actors in some relatively important plot. I hate to see Noah being the nice guy but I do like that storyline. Helen deserves a slap for always thinking that she makes the right decision

So far off course

There's a point in a television series where it's just over. The plot direction of the 4 characters has just become ridiculous, as the writers scramble to keep it relevant. After this episode, I'm done with this show. The situation with Vic and Helen is just such a stretch to find anything to keep it going, and Noah's story is no longer interesting in the least. Alison could now be totally written out of the show and the viewer wouldn't be missing anything. This one is toast.

I agree with the other comment posted. It was a great series until this Fourth season. I will not watch any longer.

From a steamy good show with a very interesting plot to a one of those general hospital or ugly sad situations that I really don't need to be reminded of. I wanna watch shows to dream, to entratain and to distract me from health issues not to worry and scare me more, no thanks, season 4 sucks.

... another one bites the dust

Sadly everything that made The Affair interesting has vanished by now. In this episode the plot turns catastrophically into a soap opera that takes itself too seriously.

There is no reason for the dual point of view to exist, since the main characters are living different stories, only vaguely interconnected.

Everybody seems angry, aggressive, frustrated and disappointed with life.

The Noah story is going the politically correct way, introducing characters that are fleshing out into stereotypes faster than the speed of light (the rebellious but wise beyond his year, unjustly discriminated student; the stern, beautiful principal, burdened by unfair race-and-gender issues). Are Noah and Janelle having an affair? Technically they're not, so why the title?

The Helen story is turning into a garden-variety hospital drama, compounded by the fact that Helen is (and will always be) such an unlikeable character that I truly do not give a damn whatever happens to her. Vik is just a prop, I guess nobody ever believed that their story could actually happen or any feelings are involved. Are they having affairs? No (or not yet...) So, again... what about the title?
