Amell is known for playing the role of Oliver Queen, playboy billionaire by day and vigilante by night. However, Amell’s own life trajectory is nothing like that of the character he embodied for eight seasons.
Stephen Amell starred as Oliver Queen / Green Arrow for eight seasons of Arrow.
During an interview, Amell opened up about his early struggles to make it as an actor and had to fight hard to make a name for himself. As a result, Amell’s origin story is in stark contrast to that of the character that made him a household name. Here is what Stephen Amell has said about his initial struggles in Hollywood and how they contrast Oliver Queen’s story.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson recently made his grand return to wrestling with the WWE, but the star might be taking his "heel" persona a little too far these days.
There's absolutely nothing unusual in Hollywood when it comes to the delicate art of managing high-profile egos -- just ask Vin Diesel, who knows all too well from his days bumping heads with his famous co-star during the "Fast and Furious" saga -- but things seem to have escalated to a whole new level on the set of Amazon Studios' upcoming Christmas film "Red One." That's the latest scuttlebutt according to extensive reporting by Umberto Gonzalez of The Wrap, who paints an alarming picture of habitual lateness, deeply unprofessional behavior, and producing inexperience in several crucial roles. All of these factors seem to have come together to turn what was initially envisioned as a straight-to-streaming original and a potential franchise starter...

Peacock’s deal with WWE for events like Wrestlemania expires in 2026, and Netflix or another streamer could snatch them up.
The hype of The Rock’s return and Cody Rhodes finishing the story delivered for WWE over the weekend. The annual Wrestlemania extravaganza is always a big audience draw — both in person and on TV — and this year’s Wrestlemania Xl demonstrated the event’s popularity once again by drawing the biggest ratings of any live entertainment program in the history of Peacock. The numbers are impressive, but they do bring the question of what will happen to live WWE events after 2026 to mind, as the wrestling promotion’s deal with Peacock expires.
Wrestlemania saw 1.3 billion total minutes streamed across both nights on Peacock. WWE’s YouTube channel drew a record-setting 67 million+ views on Sunday, April 7. Netflix recently acquired rights to WWE’s “Raw,” and could make a play for events like Wrestlemania next.

Former WWE Wrestlemania star Billy Jack Haynes’ bail hearing on charges of killing his wife, Janette Becraft, 85, was delayed after his attorneys asked for more time. The new hearing is set for May 13.
On Feb. 8, Haynes, 70, had a two-hour standoff with law enforcement who were trying to arrest him. After two hours, Haynes finally gave in and exited the home. It was then that the police discovered Becraft dead inside their house. He was taken into custody by Oregon police, but a motive has not been identified.
Becraft was also the mother of another professional wrestler who performed using the name Tod Ruhl, but his real name was Tod Becraft.
Ruhl and Haynes were good friends who met wrestling when they were nine. After Ruhl’s father died, his mother married Haynes. Ruhl died in 2021.
Kim Becraft Finlay posted an endearing message about her mother on Facebook: “You are now flying with the Angels.

The Masked Singer Season 11 Judges’ Net Worth (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Fox TV’s The Masked Singer is a unique reality singing show where celebs compete against one another, but there is a fun twist. While performing, they wear fancy costumes and face masks to conceal their identities. The singing reality series is back with its Season 11, and the first episode premiered earlier this month. There had been a change in the judges’ panel this year as fan favorite Nicole Scherzinger did not return alongside Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg, and Robin Thicke. Rita Ora has taken her place.
The fans were initially upset and worried about Nicole’s exit from the show. But it was later reported that Nicole was busy with the revival of Andrew Llyod Webber’s Sunset Boulevard in London’s West End. It began in September, which coincided with the reality show’s filming. As a result,...

Scooby-Doo and the Mystery Inc. are now into their fifth wild and frightful decade of adventure. Over the years, Scooby-Doo has embarked on some truly bizarre team-ups with characters from the DC Universe, creating some of the most unexpected and entertaining crossovers in animation history.
This isn’t an odd thing – as the likes of Batman: The Animated Series also used to get cameos of its characters in various shows. Similarly, the gang also used to appear in various setups in live action, whether it be the DC Universe, the Star Wars Universe, or even a crossover with real-life superstars, such as WWE athletes, and Hollywood actors.

Barely scratching the surface of their appeal, they proved their wide-ranging appeal when in 2014 they released, Scooby-Doo! WrestleMania Mystery, a movie in which the team is flung into a wild-rumpus adventure with WWE superstar John Cena.

Ever since its debut in 1969, Scooby-Doo has become one of the most treasured cartoons ever. From its unique narrative to iconic storylines, the cartoon show has spanned several episodes, series, movies, toys, games, and many more, with its characters and mythos a permanent part of popular culture.
The Scooby-Doo Gang
Even though there are several cartoons and animated series that enjoy similar popularity, what makes the adventures of Scooby-Doo and his friends is the countless crossovers they have had. From The Dark Knight to the Justice League and even Jensen Ackles’s Supernatural, the characters have had many memorable crossovers. But perhaps the best one was when they collaborated with WWE starring John Cena for an epic WrestleMania mystery.

With a Metascore of 84 on Metacritic, fans are rushing to get their hands on the highly anticipated wrestling game that introduces a bucketload of new features, mechanics, roster additions, and more.
Among the raving reviews, however, there’s a bit of disappointment expressed at the game; particularly, its soundtrack.
Some Fans Want Post Malone Out of WWE 2K24
For some players, the WWE 2K24 soundtrack is a hard miss

Professional wrestling has seen the rise and fall of many over the years, but very few have actually managed to leave a mark or become the face of the sport. Roman Reigns has managed to achieve both within a short span of time. The American professional has reached the pinnacle of success, and he is still going strong. As a professional, he now reigns at the top as one of the highest-paid wrestlers around at present.
The wrestler’s real name is Joseph Leati Anoa’i, but he took on the mantle of Roman Reigns because he became a bit of a villain as he was making his way up the ladder in the world of wrestling. After going pro in 2010, Reigns has carved out a niche for himself in the wrestling ring.

Match #1: Drew McIntyre def. Cody Rhodes The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
With WrestleMania Xl fast approaching, Cody Rhodes is still severely undermanned in his quest to become the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. The American Nightmare took on Drew McIntyre, but after an incredible back-and-forth featuring a pedigree and an incredible Cody Cutter, Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa arrived and cost Rhodes the win, much to the delight of The Scottish Warrior. After the match, while Rhodes tended his wounds in the backstage area, World Heavyweight Champion Seth “Freakin” Rollins once again offered his services, leading to a discussion between the two Superstars.

1999 was one of the best years in video game history. Granted, 1999 wasn’t as historically great of a year for video games as it was for movies, but the end of the ’90s saw gaming’s best developers scramble to bring us into the future and honor the past. The result was a mind-blowing collection of titles that feels especially shocking to look back at when you consider how much the industry has slowed down in terms of major yearly releases since then.
What were the best games of 1999, though? The answer to that question will obviously (hopefully obviously) vary wildly from person to person. At the very least, though, it’s a fun conversation to have. Perhaps more importantly, it’s fascinating to look back on (and revisit) those games and take another look at them through a modern lens.

Executives at Netflix say the company will move forward with plans to eliminate a low-cost, commercial-free tier of service as it pushes more customers to take on a comparable-priced plan with advertising.
During its Q4 2023 earnings call this week, officials at Netflix said it will stop offering the commercial-free plan, called Netflix Basic, to streamers in the United Kingdom and Canada later this spring.
Netflix stopped offering Netflix Basic to new customers in the United States, the U.K. and Canada last summer, while allowing existing customers to continue paying for the plan. The retirement of Netflix Basic completely will mean customers who continued to pay for the plan will be pushed toward Netflix with Ads instead. The cost of Netflix with Ads is a few dollars less than Netflix Basic.

After over 30 years and 1500 episodes, it was announced today that WWE's flagship program, "Raw," (or "Monday Night Raw") is exiting the linear television landscape and becoming a streaming exclusive for Netflix. The streaming juggernaut will become the exclusive new home for "Raw" starting in January 2025 in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Latin America, among other territories. Over time, more regions will be added as part of the deal. Eventually, the other WWE weekly programs like "SmackDown" and "Nxt" will also join the Netflix family once their existing deals with USA Network and The CW expire, as will additional programming like documentaries, original series, and other future projects.
Considering WWE has its own production studio, it would be unsurprising if Netflix became the new exclusive distributor of WWE Studios, although this has yet to be confirmed. But what is potentially the biggest get outside of "Raw" is...

Netflix and the WWE are about to make one helluva tag team.
In 2025, WWE’s weekly flagship program “Monday Night Raw” is leaving its longtime USA Network home for the greener pastures of Netflix — yes, we are referring there to the color of money.
Hey, the same move worked out for “Suits.”
“Monday Night Raw,” USA Network’s most-watched show, is heading to Netflix in a 10-year deal that will pay WWE parent company Tko more than $5 billion; top-rope stuff from today’s company filings. Netflix carries options to either extend the deal for another 10 years, or to opt out after the first five.
Curiously, in the Tuesday news announcement, Tko and Netflix both referred to the program simply as “Raw.” A person with knowledge of the plans told IndieWire that the show’s night of the week is subject to change in the move. It is possible Netflix would...

After insisting publicly for years that it was not dead-set on pursuing sports rights, Netflix has made a landmark deal for one of linear TV’s staples, WWE’s Monday Night Raw.
Starting in January 2025, Netflix will now be the exclusive home of Raw in the U.S., Canada, UK and Latin America. Additional territories from Netflix’s footprint of more than 190 are to be added over time. USA Network had aired the Raw franchise and launched it in January 1993.
The deal is for 10 years and more than $5 billion, a person familiar with the terms told Deadline.
Along with the main Raw program, Netflix will become the home for all WWE shows and specials outside the U.S., including other weekly shows SmackDown and Nxt. In a major streaming deal, WWE Monday Night Raw will leave USA Network for Netflix beginning in January 2025, with the streaming giant also set to become the home of WWE content outside of the U.S.
The deal, which a source pegs at 10 years and is valued at about $5 billion, marks a significant expansion into live events for Netflix, which will now stream Raw live every Monday night in the U.S., Canada, U.K. and Latin America, 52 weeks per year, with other territories to be added over time.
Netflix will also be the exclusive home of WWE content outside of the U.S., including its live shows and premium events like Wrestlemania, as well as documentaries and original series.
Thus far, Netflix has only held occasional live events, like a Chris Rock stand-up comedy special or the ill-fated Love Is Blind reunion special.

The relationship between Disney and Comcast is… complex, to say the least. The House of Mouse is currently expected to buy the 33% stake of Hulu that Comcast currently owns, but a very public discourse regarding the valuation of that stake has caused some eyebrow-raising over the past year in media circles.

Still, companies spar over valuations all the time, and it’s unlikely that the business relationship between the two companies is frayed to the breaking point. In fact, some industry analysts believe that Comcast and Disney might decide to partner again, as Disney is seeking allies to help it launch a streaming version of ESPN and its sibling channels that won’t require a cable or satellite subscription.
Speaking during Comcast’s second-quarter earnings report, the company’s president Mike Cavanagh said that he felt it was “highly improbable” that Comcast would partner with Disney on ESPN.

There’s no doubt about it, customers are feeling frustrated with their streaming subscriptions nowadays. New data from Aluma Insights confirms as much, showing that 35% of subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) subscribers now think their monthly streaming expenses are too high. Only 5% of those surveyed indicated they’d be willing to spend more on SVOD services.
It’s yet more data that shows the streaming market is fully mature in the United States. Most customers have hit their ceilings in terms of how many streaming services they can pay for in a month, and an increasing number feel that costs have risen too high.
Aluma’s data is backed up by another survey from DailyStoke, an online publication that covers gaming and sports betting. Forty-six percent of respondents to its survey said they don’t think streaming services offer enough to account for their rising prices.

Major League Wrestling and WWE are heading towards a big-money match in court thanks to a California judge’s recent ruling.
According to Sportico, United States District Judge from San Jose, California Edward Davila has ruled that a complaint filed by Major League Wrestling (Mlw) adequately revealed legitimate antitrust concerns over WWE’s handling of media rights and its status as a professional wrestling organization on television. Now, the case will head to discovery, which could potentially reveal insider information about the WWE’s economics and its handling of media rights.
According to Sportico, Mlw accuses WWE of owning 92% of all revenue generated by professional wrestling promotions from the sale of media rights and abusing its leverage as the biggest brand in the business to keep rival companies off the platforms that its shows appear on.

Welcome to this review of night two of WWE’s Wrestlemania 39 pay-per-view which came live from Hollywood. Let’s see what went down on Sunday’s show…
Match #1: Brock Lesnar def. Omos The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Brock Lesnar and Omos combined for a colossal matchup to start WrestleMania 39 Sunday. No David’s were allowed; this was an official Goliath vs. Goliath contest. Entering the 12th WrestleMania match in his career, The Beast was oozing with experience, but Lesnar had yet to solve the puzzle of Omos in recent weeks. This dominance continued at the onset with Omos clobbering Lesnar. Lesnar attempted a German Suplex, but Omos broke free and slammed the 10-time world champion. On August the 29th 1992 the WWF came to Wembley Stadium for its annual SummerSlam. It was the first time the organisation had strayed outside the States for an event of this scale, and the reason was purely financial: Vince McMahon and his backers realised that while enthusiasm for the sport was waning – or at least plateauing – in the US, fans in the UK were in the fevered grip of Wrestlemania, Hulkamania, and – perhaps most crucially of all – Gladly-Spend-Thirty-Pounds-on-a-Giant-Foam-Finger-amania.
