Kristen Bell is back with her genius role as Eleanor in the comedy with the hilarious and genuine idea, The episode started of where they left us last year when Eleanor figured it all out and hid a secret note in Janet's mouth and the mystery and that nervous comedy begin.
I loved how this time the show apparently is not focused on just Eleanor but it showed us four different perspectives which means 4 times the variety in the comedy.
The plot is still strong revolves around the idea of Michael "a Hell Architect" who has this vision of new methods of torturing but it's mentally rather than physically and as a first trial those four humans gotta be the Lab rats, as for this season yes the idea is still the same but watching the first two episodes gave us a look at the type of comedy and the new mission of those four characters on finding each others again to expose Michael and his plan once more but this time as "The Boss" said there won't be a third trial, so we don't know what's gonna happen next !!!
And what's even looking better this season is they seem to include more characters to engage more with the five co-leads (four humans and Michael) which was limited last season but here i believe this will give the writers a wider space and more originality in the cast lines... i mean even that "can i have a limp" line of the "real Eleanor" or "I gotta go to the Gym" line as simple as it is and it was repeated like 3 times, yet it gave a different taste for the character and it "the obvious" it was new, and that is what we need a new comedy lines each and every episode.
The cast is still vibrant so engaging and that nervous comedy which what gives the characters strong form, so hats off for Kristen Bell, Ted Danson and all the other leads, and also a round of applause for the other secondary characters, they were really funny.. i hope they keep it up.
so a conclusion, yes it was a strong come back, the rating of the show was already high last season and the numbers of the premiere are encouraging .. i know it's so early to say this but for a 10-13 episodes series it's fine, so i think the show will go to a third season renewal if it stays on the same rhythm as this.
