Introspection portrayed to perfection.

Warning: Spoilers
Kevin was never my favorite story line, but this episode is something else.

The transitions between the past and present were seamless and perfectly complimented the portrayed spiraling of Kevin. Each and every father-son interaction is so powerful and the growth of Kevin's character through how he spoke to and acted around his father is unquestionably moving and relatable. When Jack starts talking to present-day Kevin at the awards ceremony, there are such intense emotions so evident in Kevin's eyes that show the deep personal reflections and drive home the theme of this episode.

The emotion in Justin Hartley voice is just enough to be convincing, and the little voice breaks at certain points are just so perfect. There are so many things to talk about that make this episode the work of art that I believe it is, but you'll have to form your own opinions on it. In my view, this is the best episode of the entire series so far, and perhaps the best episode I've ever watched from any show.

Best episode of the show so far

Amazing! Kevin has always been my favorite character and I'm glad he's finally getting the attention he deserves. His storyline is so relatable, anyone can go through that and it's excruciating when you're not able to talk about your feelings. Justin Hartley delivered a flawless performance, as well as Logan Shroyer, despite some people saying they're not good actors. These two deserve all the praise and all the recognition they got now.

This has to be one of the best episodes i have ever seen, no matter what series, Justin Hartley acting in this episode was terrific, every time he talked, every emotion he showed.. Just wow. I started crying at the end when Kevin was crying, but i completely lost it at the revelation at the end, you don't get a better drama series than this.

One of the best episodes in This is us - moving!

Warning: Spoilers
Total heart breaker! The way he loses everything, every time is portrayed very well by the both the actors playing Kevin Pearson and Milo is great as usual in this episode too. The scenes between him and his son are moving. The scene of Kevin Pearson in his high school ground is one of the best and original scenes written and acted out. Brings more question about his relationship with Sophie. It brought tears rolling down a lot of times throughout this episode. Write and Make more of these! I viewed this episode in www.hotstar.com

One of the best episodes I've ever seen

A Very well written episode shows Kevin's pain, going back to his place remembering his past and how much important his dad was. This episode literally makes a rock cry, so touching, and Justin's was amazing. Probably the only thing I didn't like was the edition thought they could've done bettert. But still one of the best episodes I've ever seen

So touching!

This episode showed us the broken and vulnerable side of Kevin after all his attempts to appear tough and easygoing! The scene in the football field brought tears to my eyes. Amazing performance by Justin Hartley and an even more amazing job in the writing of the episode!

An episode that shows us more about Kevin and how his life change during his teenage years. It was really well done where we can see all emotions and pain. All scene were great but the one towards the end where he breaks down after leaving his necklace he got from his father is especially great. And then we find out at the very end that Kate lost her baby.

It Made Me Cringe

We've watched Kevin as he has gone to the road to destruction. Every so often we hear about a celebrity who seemingly had everything, taking his or her life. I would call it the Richard Cory syndrome, after the character from the poem. To have that much attention from every angle for your entire life. From the time he walked first to his football career and its end to the Manny. He never seemed to be dismissed, except by his father, but he didn't accept that because he was always forgiven. The scene where he talks at the homecoming event, where he gives credit to accomplished people, saying he doesn't deserve the award, is gut wrenching. He is so high and disintegrating. And, of course, the chain his father gave him, which he loses as he tries to rob a woman's medicine cabinet, is really horrible. And then the flashbacks to the night his knee was destroyed. Incredible television.
