Hard working men
jordanriverking13 September 2019
Wanted to watch something on Netflix just to kill time before I went out. That was five days ago, I have been binge watching this show. Maybe get an episode in before work and usually one after work. It's so interesting to watch heavy removals, and how it all works. Really enjoy this show.

Steve's Towing should be gone
crestwood-036072 August 2020
Enjoy the show with the exception of Steve and Sonny, these two are ALWAYS in major panic mode no matter what the job is. I understand the difficulties of the job but certainly woukd not want either of these two on any scene, always screaming. I do work in emergency services and if any of our officers lost their minds like these two there would be deaths. For the rest keep up the good work. Oh yeah Sonny put your phone away you of all people should know your attention should be on the road. Are you not aware yet of what inattentive driving cause, obviously NOT

It's not Highway thru Hell.
jared797 March 2021
Heavy Rescue 401 is Highway Thru Hell's poor cousin. While it is interesting, the heavy rescue characters are not as interesting and I question their choices.

Steve and Sonny are annoying, always yelling and panicking. We only have seasons 1 and 2 in Australia, so hoping they are not in future seasons.

Anyway, it's an interesting diversion when we don't have anything else to watch.

Very interesting

I started watching this show because my husband is a semi truck driver. Even though I thought I would get bored of it really soon because i thought it would get repetitive really soon, just trucks being moved. But it is so interesting and I just keep binging it every time I watch it! It's incredible the things that happen out there on the roads! It's exciting, scary and interesting while being emotional! Definitely worth watching!

I Like This Show But...
jayg-9412825 March 2020
I enjoy watching this show although it is heavily scripted. From watching the show I hear the police, tow truck drivers and others STRESS the importance of SAFETY when doing their jobs on the busy 400 series highways. And then, what do I see? One of the tow truck drivers cruising along, at a fairly high rate of speed, on the highway WITHOUT his seat belt> I'm sure some may comment that it's ok, or that it's even legal because of his occupation or because he was in "stop & go" traffic. Note: There are SOME exemptions to the seat belt law in the province of Ontario, tow truck drivers are not on that list, for any reason.

Thank you for what you do

As a 20-year plus driver, I just want to say thank you each and everyone of you that are out there supporting us and helping us when we get in trouble. I started watching this show about 2 years ago. And it has given me a lot more respect for what you go through. I cannot express enough my gratitude for what you do and what you go through. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and the bottom of my family's heart for risking yourself to take care of us.

VERY FUNNY SHOW!!!
bnewman-9001015 June 2019
This is an extremely funny show!! First, they claim, "Closure (of the highway) is NOT an option!" Yet, they are constantly closing the highways! And, if you watch for details, the editing sucks and is all over the place!! Fairly well scripted show!!

This isn't Highway Thru Hell
embmw5 February 2023
It's amazing that this show comes from the same producers as Highway Thru Hell, since, in spite of the fact that they're both about heavy rescue, this series is barely watchable, whereas Highway Thru Hell is must-see-TV for me.

The terrain is nowhere near as photogenic, but that's not what kills the show for me. Most of the tow operators (with a couple of very notable exceptions) are nowhere near as professional as the ones in HTH, so the recoveries are often more clown show than the heroics often featured on HTH. I agree with the other reviewers about Steve & Sonny!

But the main thing that ruins this show for me is the focus on the nanny-state police officers. Sheesh, what a bunch of cowering grandmothers! According to them, people drive too fast when it's icy, and yet the minute conditions clear up people they whine that people are driving too fast because it's clear. I fast forward through the cop parts, but they really do ruin it for me. You can't create a nerf-society where nothing anyone does is dangerous, but these utopian cops keep acting like the whole world would be all warm & fuzzy if everyone just drove like grandmothers. I realize they're Canadian, but grow a pair fer-pete's-sake!

show is cool but some of the wreaker drivers need to stay quiet
wvb-3309527 August 2020
9. Always a Danger- one driver made a statement that was we need to keep the wheels on the ground to keep the truck grounded hey the tires are rubber rubber dose not conduct electricty therefore the truck is not grounded but it is insulated, that is why people are safe when power lines fall on the car as long as they remain inside the car

Totally scripted BS
syncopatedrhythm11 December 2019
If you want to see the worst, so called Professional, drivers totally drive like morons, this is the show for you. For me, I get a first hand view of the most dim witted profession on the planet ply their trade every day on this highway. I can't wait until the self driving vehicle finally puts them out of work and we won't need boring shows like this. The editing and obvious script of the show are only matched by the moronic driving of 100,000 pound weapons. Take it from a daily driver of the highway, when one of these Einsteins wrecks their trucks, the OPP (police) have no problems closing the whole highway, no pressure, nobody screaming we are under the gun, gotta open the highway. Last time for a single truck accident on this highway, near the area where they film the Eastern Ontario segments, the road was closed for almost 24 hours. It is a fairly regular occurrence, that is why every secondary road near the 401 have yellow 401 emergency detour direction signs on them. This show is just another example of Canada's worst export, crappy Discovery Channel, so called reality shows. List is endless, Ice Road Truckers, Oak Island treasure guys, Highway Thru Hell, Cold Water Cowboys, Mountain Railroading...etc
