The Downfall of Exorcist III
Death, Be Not Proud: All This Bleeding (2016)
**** (out of 4)
The final portion of this five part series taking a look at the troubled production of THE EXORCIST III. This finale runs twenty-eight minutes and features production manager Ronald Colby, editor Todd C. Ramsay and make-up/special effects artists Brian Wade, Bill Forsche and Mike Smithson discussing what was turned into the studio, why they didn't like it and the various re-shoots that had to be done. This is certainly an excellent documentary as you get a clear understanding as to why Morgan Creek weren't happy with the film that the director turned in and we're given a pretty well-detailed look at the rush that happened in order to make an exorcism ending possible. We hear some great stories about the various stresses that were happening on the set including the fact that George C. Scott wasn't happy about being there. We also get to hear from Jason Miller's stunt double who ended up doing a lot more and without any credit. Fans of THE EXORCIST III will certainly love this chapter as we get some terrific details about the various issues with the production and finally some of the secrets are revealed.
