Hong Kong love story
Surprisingly touching and mainstream. It is about two young persons falling in love in high school. While one is popular (Jamie) and in the "in" crowd, the other (Kevin) is an "outsider". There is subtle yet substantial attraction between two teenagers.
The additional barrier tor this pair of young lovers is that they are of the same gender, which is a culturally unacceptable.
With that, the story jumped to 10 years later, when the jock (Jamie) tracked the "nerd" down in a half-way house for depressed persons. This short reunion triggered something in Kevin, enough to motivate him to move back to Hong Kong to find Jamie.
The movie deal with the pressure of staying in the "closet" and conform to social/cultural identity. Neither of the characters are happy, yet not sure of other alternative. The main story is in the struggle between expression of love and social conformity.
There are a few long scenes that are really good and memorable. Highly recommended for anyone who like love story, and those who enjoyed a subtle story with strong emotional undertone. This movie deserve a wider audience.

School Boys Grown Up
This is a rather old fashioned romance about two gay men who had a relationship in school then parted to different countries. Honk Kong and Australia. When the emigre returns and the friendship renewed, old sparks begin to fly. This is a rather old fashioned but very pleasing story without the pains of being just another gay love story. Most of the acting is low key as one of the young men has been diagnosed with depression....I only caught on to this later in the film. It is a sub theme and somehow did not matter. Will these guys find a way to get back on track? That is the whole film's subject. Lovely low key and quite engaging acting. A new twist on an old them done very well.
