Sid Carter's absence has been glaring especially with Lady Felicia also been written out of the series. The reality is that actor Alex Price has been busy in the theatre to do the new series.
Well it looks like Sid has been doing porridge for 12 months and he is not happy that his brief might had withheld crucial evidence at the trial. Sid confronts him at a party and the barrister is soon found dead with the finger of suspicion pointing at Sid.
Father Brown thinks that the victim of the assault was bribed to protect the real culprit and soon a man in a Panama hat is out to get Father Brown.
It was good to see Sid back, although he is far from his chirpy self in this one. With Lady Felicia being absent from the show and Bunty seamlessly slotting in, there is little space for him in the series.
It was a nice mystery, there were some slimy upper crust types and a well above average episode.
