Tuesday, Maddie lies stunned in the washroom after a shower, Harry lies in bed listening to the water. The two have a quiet breakfast, Harry says not to go to school. Her friend comes by and Harry lets her go. Bosch remembers learning to swim as a kid, a cop had come to the pool with bad news about his mother.
Harry is still at home when Sheehan calls. Harry demands to know where he is, the cop on the run says he has something to do and will come in later. Bosch quickly calls Robertson to trace the number. It's a pay phone, Robertson sends Pierce to the scene.
J.Edgar gets a judge's signature to trace the Elias text.
Irving chats with Jun Park at a coffee shop. Irving knew Howard Elias and respected his skills.
Grace Billets and Harry talk on the phone about Maddie, she gives him some time off.
Edgar sees a wireless tech, she will look into the Elias burner phone and should have something by Friday.
Lincoln and Snyder tag team tail Terry Drake.
Harry returns to the parking lot where Eleanor was shot. Irving calls to say Walker's driver Rodriguez reported his concealed carry permit gun was stolen Friday. They want Bosch to interview Rodriguez. Irving says he understands what Bosch is going thru. Bosch gets a bank guard to show him video, they freeze frame a shot of the rear seat motorbike passenger, long hair flowing under a black helmet.
Maddie is at school, other kids sympathize. She makes eye contact with a young man.
Snyder watches Drake go to a pawn shop.
Back in the War Room Robertson asks for volunteers to go to Elias' autopsy to get the bullet. Lincoln tries to avoid but is assigned. Snyder reports on the Drake tail. Robertson says the pawn shop was a drop site, Snyder curses and gets up.
J.Edgar meets Agent Griffin and gives him Eleanor's phone, saying Bosch forgot he had it. Griffin warns him to keep Bosch away.
Bosch goes to Walker's to talk to the driver. The gun was in the car but not locked, it's not sure when the gun went missing. Even the car may have been left unlocked as Friday was pretty hectic. Walker quizzes Bosch on Sheehan.
Snyder calls from the pawn shop, Sheehan had been there 30 minutes after Drake. Robertson seems sure Drake and Sheehan are culpable.
Billets briefs her cops on the rally plans, they grumble about not using more force. Mankiewicz draws up the roster assignments.
Bosch calls Irving about the Riverwatch POI, the Chief says he will follow up. Harry can't find Maddie at her school, everyone has gone for the day. She sends a text to him she is OK.
A rowdy crowd of protesters are at Hollywood Station, J.Edgar makes it by into the parking lot.
Bosch goes back to Eleanor's house calling out for Maddie. Looking around he touches objects in the room reflecting, then finds a small photo of Maddie, Becca Gentry and a young man together.
Maddie is at her friend's house by the pool, he listens to her lamentations and offers supportive words.
A Captain briefs Irving on Desiree Zealy, the vocal leader of the Police Commission protest. Zealy is an activist, the Captain thinks her followers can be turned.
Billets call in her three lieutenants and reassigns them to simple jobs. Thorne says they were just hazing her but Grace states they have to respect the chain of command.
Harry goes to the Gentry's, Becca reveals the guy is Ky Hartmann and gives his address. Harry goes to the address and takes Maddie away.
Lincoln watches the autopsy, almost gagging, and takes the slug.
Pierce still tries to figure out where the first bullet went. Snyder has lost her ID. They wonder how the shooter go away from Angels Flight with no witnesses or cameras.
Harry is stern and says he needs to know where she is, then apologizes for embarrassing her in front of Ky. Harry takes her to the morgue.
Crate and Barrel get a robbery audit, upset they go to Billets, she offers to buy them breakfast and they leave happy.
Robertson meets Drake for drinks at the Smog Cutter bar. Drake makes cryptic comments, saying Robertson doesn't understand what happened with Harris. Drake hints at an issue Robertson had at Rampart some time before, and suggests cops need to stick together.
J.Edgar reviews Wish's cell phone video on a laptop, Latonya notices and says not to bring his work to her house, she tells him to go home. Jerry gets a screengrab of the man from the late night card game.
At home, Bosch is pensive, he wants to talk with Maddie. She asks the pain of losing someone and what happened to her mom, he says it was something to do with her work playing poker for the feds. He says it's not his case and doesn't know more. Maddie presses him to tell her what Harry talked about with Eleanor that last morning.
