The murdered attorney's son Martin Elias answers the door to 3 or 4 young black men, who barge in and beat him severely. 3. Maddie and Bosch are talking in B's elevated house. Terry Drake, at Hollywood Station for his alibi interview, slips furtively into the task force's work room and begins nosing around. Pierce interrupts. Drake tells him he'll return for the interview later, after running errands. 6. J Edgar, at the shooting range, is wide of the mark, all his shots hitting the paper target's shoulder (the same place he was wounded). 7. Bosch goes to Howard Elias' wake in his fine house to talk to his widow (Jen). She is hostile, pointing to Terry Drake as the prime murder suspect and warning B to stay away from her son. She knew about Pamela, the blond jury consultant, sleeping with Howard in the Bunker Hill apartment. 8. The 3 RHD cops in the Black Guardian case (Terry Drake, Doug Rooker and Francis Sheehan) meet on the sloping concrete bank of the LA River. Sheehan is terrified the task force will hang the Elias murder on him because he has no alibi. An alcoholic, he was home alone drinking. Drake urges him just to tell the truth, and appears genuinely supportive. 9.In the task-force Det Gabriella Lincoln uncovers an old complaint where Sheehan got "beefed up" by Elias. Det Robertson tells Synder to use Judge Wexler, not the usual channel, to get a warrant for Elias' "financials". 10. Martin Elias comes into Hollywood Station with lawyer Alex Caplan, admits to B that his alibi was a lie, says he and Bianca were out selling fake speed to sorority girls, and that his beating was from a rival boyfriend of Bianca. On leaving the station Martin and Caplan meet the yelling demonstrators, who might infer the police caused the facial injuries. 23. Irving and attractive black reporter Laura Cooke, who is doing a newspaper profile of him, talk in his office. 24. J Edgar and the 2 ex-IA female detectives watch the low-res trolleybus tape of Elias' murder. Just the pistol and a bit of the killer's hand have been captured. 25. Chief Irving warns B to avoid talking about his cold case with Walker. Honey Chandler, the judge-appointed protector of Elias' files, refuses to divulge to B exactly what Elias knew of Harris' torture. 27. Robertson asks Lt Grace Billets to put his name forward for a "D3" position in another precinct. Earlier, Roberson had been scanning vacancies at his desk. Billets is reluctant. 28. J Edgar and Latonya are cuddling when Billets phones to ask J Edgar to come onto the Elias task-force. 29. Maddie takes a call from Reggie Woo, Eleanor's post-Bosch lover. He is stuck in China, his passport having been confiscated. Later, Eleanor is evasive with Maddie about what's going on in her relationship with Reggie. 30.
