The Good Wife/Good Fight has top-notch writing. But as much as I enjoyed sitting back and re entering the legal world of the Michelle and Robert King with its familiar characters and heightened drama (anyone who's ever worked with lawyers or had dealings with court proceedings knows there are very few ticking time bombs like the Kings contrive. Legal resolution takes years. But I digress.
One holdover from The Good Wife they'd do well to avoid is the season finale that hurriedly, half-heartedly tries to tie up too many overarching loose ends while at the same time giving us a crisis of the week. The usual level of legal poetic license is blown to smithereens as we see Lucca arrested, which in no way would have happened, while the Milo character who conspired with the blackout bug is left off scot free (we assume to reappear in season 2 -- the writers do a great job in capturing his empty provocations)
Even crazier is when Lucca brings the flash drive to the DOJ and the boss inserts it into his office laptop without a moment's pause. Definitely never would have happened. All govt employees are given annual training on how NOT to do that very reckless thing -- call IT. And finally, I admire Diane's character and Lucca is fun to watch but if I have to spend 10 hours watching Maia (Rose Leslie) with that constipated grimace on her face next year ...
