Following Sam's comments about how he can't film the group "doing the hugging move for 20 minutes", Rhonda asks "What if your gimmick is hugging people?". This is a reference to WWE superstar Pamela Martinez, a.k.a. Bayley , whose gimmick is that she hugs people.
The idea of the girls moving into the same hotel together is based on the real-life GLOW girls' moving into a hotel a few miles away from the Riviera Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, which would be dubbed in the show the "GLOW House".
