Season 15 of RuPaul’s Drag Race has seen some of its competitors butt heads and go on to become great friends. Malaysia Babydoll Foxx, Mistress Isabelle Brooks, Sugar, and Spice are a perfect example of such a relationship. Mistress and Malaysia took Sugar and Spice under their wings, and they quickly became tight-knit sisters.

Sugar and Spice entered the werkroom as the first biological siblings to compete on Drag Race. They’re early in their drag careers and were up against some fierce competition.

Exclusive: Lionsgate has acquired worldwide rights to Scrambled, written by and starring Leah McKendrick, who makes her feature directorial debut on the comedy, which just wrapped filming.

Produced by Jonathan Levine and Gillian Bohrer’s Megamix, along with Brett Haley and Amanda Mortimer, and executive producer Mariah Owen, the film stars McKendrick as Nellie Robinson, a broke, single 34-year-old, fresh off a breakup, who faces down an existential crisis when she decides to freeze her eggs. McKendrick wrote the script following her own egg-retrieval experience last year.

The ensemble cast includes Ego Nwodim, Andrew Santino (Dave), Clancy Brown, Laura Cerón, Adam Rodriguez, Yvonne Strahovski (Handmaid’s Tale), June Diane Raphael, Noah Silver (Tyrant), and Sterling Sulieman (Station 19). The cast also includes Max Adler, Mimi Kennedy, Camille Mana, and Matt Pascua.

Cody Jinks will return this fall with a pair of new albums. The Texas singer-songwriter’s latest country project Mercy (which follows 2019’s double dose of The Wanting and After the Fire) arrives November 12th, the same day his metal band, Caned by Nod, releases its album None the Wiser.

Nicholas Ashe Bateman's feature film debut first appeared on the festival circuit last year to much acclaim but it disappeared almost as soon as it appeared but it's now making a comeback as one of the first must-see titles of the new year.

Starring a roster of mostly TV and indie-film actors, The Wanting Mare is a sprawling fantasy tale that follows a young woman named Moira. She's important to this universe but having gown up alone after her mother's death in childbirth, she sets off to forge her own life and her choices have repercussions on the entire world for years to come.

Many new quarantine-themed songs have come with a message of resilience or hope for better days, but Cody Jinks has taken a very different tack with his new tune “Watch the World Die.” The brooding number is the Texas singer-songwriter’s first release since he put out the pair of albums The Wanting and After the Fire in 2019.

Built off a slow, minor-key groove that eventually begins to take on some nü-metal heft, “Watch the World Die” sees the impending apocalypse and offers only a couple of raised middle fingers.

The 15th annual Black List survey was revealed Monday December 16, and it includes 66 un-produced screenplays from up-and-coming literary talent. Results were pooled from a survey of more than 250 film executives, each of whom contributed the names of up to 10 favorite scripts that were written in, or are somehow uniquely associated with, 2019 and will not have begun principal photography during this calendar year. This year, scripts had to receive at least six mentions to be included on the Black List.

Since 2005, more than a third of the screenplays included in the annual Black List surveys have become produced films, and often to notoriety — such as “Argo,” “American Hustle,” “Juno,” “The King’s Speech,” “Slumdog Millionaire,” “Spotlight,” “The Revenants,” “The Descendants,” and “Hell or High Water.” Melina Matsoukas’s 2019 film “Queen & Slim,” written by Lena Waithe with a story co-authored by James Frey, was featured on the 2018 Black List.

It’s a big week for horror and sci-fi home media releases, as we have some stellar collections coming our way this Tuesday. Scream Factory is set to thrill fans with their Collector’s Edition of Night of the Creeps, and as if that wasn’t enough, Eli Roth’s The Green Inferno is also getting the Collector’s Edition treatment, and they’ve put together a Blu for Monster on the Campus as well.

Arrow Video has compiled the second installment of their American Horror Project box set series that cult film fans will undoubtedly want to add to their collections, Blue Underground is celebrating The New York Ripper with a 3-Disc Limited Edition set, and Severin Films is resurrecting The Beast in Heat on both Blu and DVD, too.

Other releases for June 25th include The Believers, Night Killer, Ctrl, The Dark Side of the Moon and Isabelle.

Actress Hailee Steinfeld will star in the upcoming romantic comedy film Voicemails For Isabelle.

Sharon Maguire, the director of Bridget Jones Diary?and Bridget Jones Baby, is in negotiations to helm the project, which will be produced by Escape Artists' Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, Steve Tish and Becky Sanderman, reports hollywoodreporter.com.

Details about the film are scarce, but the speculative script by Leah McKendrick is being described as a rom-com for the 21st century centering on a young woman navigating the dating scene in Los Angeles.

When men talk fondly about “the girl next door,” they never mean someone like Isabelle, who turns that all-American fantasy into a real nightmare for the sweet middle-class couple who move next door to a Satanic family in Rob Heydon’s run-of-the-mill chiller. Named after the creepy neighbors’ godforsaken daughter, “Isabelle” is curiously old-fashioned and not at all original enough to distinguish itself in American release. In the context of its world premiere at South Korea’s Busan Film Festival, however, this by-the-numbers midnight movie could work well for export to countries that put stock in ghosts and possession — a context in which the American cast and setting might actually serve as novelties.

The O.C. star Adam Brody has joined Sky’s Fast and the Furious-style drama Curfew and the show will air exclusively on Charter Communications via its Spectrum Originals in 2019.

Brody will play mysterious megalomaniac millionaire Max Larssen in the street race drama, which will air on Sky One and also stars Titanic star Billy Zane and The Hour’s Miranda Richardson. When director Yam Laranas first saw the creepy, imposing house where he would shoot his new horror film “The Wanting,” he knew the film’s score would need a dense, avante-garde vibe — the kind composer Mark Korven created for “The Witch.” But he assumed hiring Korven would be a lost cause. Whether you’re shooting a horror movie on a multi-million dollar budget or an iPhone, the most important thing is “always the story,” says director Yam Laranas. Just in time for Halloween, Laranas took a break from making his upcoming psychological thriller “The Wanting” to tell TheWrap about the art of scaring people silly.
