If you watched Friday’s season finale of The Changeling and still have questions about the dark, odd fairytale that’s entangled Apollo’s family, rest assured: You are not alone.
In the beginning of the episode, we’re told that in 1825, a group of Norwegians fled to the United States seeking religious freedom. But the journey was incredibly arduous, as heavy seas capsized the boat many times over. How did they make it alive? “They had help,” the narrator tells us.

This article contains spoilers for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon episode 1.
Naturally, Darly Dixon himself (Norman Reedus) is the main character of the latest Walking Dead spinoff, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. But that doesn’t mean our eponymous hero has to endure the ravages of post-apocalyptic France alone.
The supporting cast of Daryl Dixon is headlined by Clémence Poésy playing Isabelle: a nun with a mysterious past. The French actress has enjoyed a vibrant career in both modeling and acting, with major roles in projects such as In Bruges, 127 Hours, Tenet, and countless other French and English-language productions. To the millennials among us (Hello! And sorry!), however, Poésy will forever be known as Triwizard Tournament contestant Fleur Delacour in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Cody Jinks will return this fall with a pair of new albums. The Texas singer-songwriter’s latest country project Mercy (which follows 2019’s double dose of The Wanting and After the Fire) arrives November 12th, the same day his metal band, Caned by Nod, releases its album None the Wiser.
Both albums were produced by Edward Spear at Sonic Ranch in Tornillo, Texas, where Jinks has recorded previous works including his breakthrough I’m Not the Devil. On the country side, the first release from Mercy is called “All It Cost Me Was Everything,...

It's nearly impossible to figure out the plot of The Wanting Mare solely from watching the trailer but one thing is certain: this movie looks spectacular.
Nicholas Ashe Bateman's feature film debut first appeared on the festival circuit last year to much acclaim but it disappeared almost as soon as it appeared but it's now making a comeback as one of the first must-see titles of the new year.
Starring a roster of mostly TV and indie-film actors, The Wanting Mare is a sprawling fantasy tale that follows a young woman named Moira. She's important to this universe but having gown up alone after her mother's death in childbirth, she sets off to forge her own life and her choices have repercussions on the entire world for years to come.

Many new quarantine-themed songs have come with a message of resilience or hope for better days, but Cody Jinks has taken a very different tack with his new tune “Watch the World Die.” The brooding number is the Texas singer-songwriter’s first release since he put out the pair of albums The Wanting and After the Fire in 2019.
Built off a slow, minor-key groove that eventually begins to take on some nü-metal heft, “Watch the World Die” sees the impending apocalypse and offers only a couple of raised middle fingers.

The 15th annual Black List survey was revealed Monday December 16, and it includes 66 un-produced screenplays from up-and-coming literary talent. Results were pooled from a survey of more than 250 film executives, each of whom contributed the names of up to 10 favorite scripts that were written in, or are somehow uniquely associated with, 2019 and will not have begun principal photography during this calendar year. This year, scripts had to receive at least six mentions to be included on the Black List.
Since 2005, more than a third of the screenplays included in the annual Black List surveys have become produced films, and often to notoriety — such as “Argo,” “American Hustle,” “Juno,” “The King’s Speech,” “Slumdog Millionaire,” “Spotlight,” “The Revenants,” “The Descendants,” and “Hell or High Water.” Melina Matsoukas’s 2019 film “Queen & Slim,” written by Lena Waithe with a story co-authored by James Frey, was featured on the 2018 Black List.

Don’t you just hate it when you move into your dream home as a young married couple, and the possessed ghost of the creepy lady’s daughter who lives next door keeps breaking into your house and touching your things and scaring the crap out of you? Me too. I have to make light of scary stuff, or I will just end up in tears. So that is the route I have taken with the trailer for the new movie Isabelle.
Isabelle stars Amanda Crew as a newlywed and expectant mother who moves into a house with her husband Adam Brody, and quickly has a series of horrific things happen, while battling some pretty dark things, stemming from the evil spirit they sense coming from the house next door. Sheila McCarthy (The Umbrella Academy) plays the creep next door, and Zoe Belkin (Carrie) plays her gross, dead daughter.

"This spirit - she is determined, very powerful, rage surrounding her." Vertical Entertainment has unveiled an official trailer for an indie horror thriller titled Isabelle, which premiered at the Busan Film Festival last year. Isabelle is the latest horror from Canadian filmmaker Rob Heydon, and is hitting VOD + a few theaters in late May. After moving into the perfect New England neighborhood, an all-American couple's dream of starting a family is shattered when they encounter an evil spirit that wants nothing more than to take their lives. Amanda Crew stars with Adam Brody, and a full cast including Zoë Belkin, Sheila McCarthy, Booth Savage, Michael Miranda, Dayo Ade, David Tompa, Zoe Doyle, and Shanice Banton. This looks like your standard paranormal horror with the usual terrifying scenes and a freaky red-eyed ghost girl. Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Robert Heydon's Isabelle, direct from YouTube (via B-d): After...

When men talk fondly about “the girl next door,” they never mean someone like Isabelle, who turns that all-American fantasy into a real nightmare for the sweet middle-class couple who move next door to a Satanic family in Rob Heydon’s run-of-the-mill chiller. Named after the creepy neighbors’ godforsaken daughter, “Isabelle” is curiously old-fashioned and not at all original enough to distinguish itself in American release. In the context of its world premiere at South Korea’s Busan Film Festival, however, this by-the-numbers midnight movie could work well for export to countries that put stock in ghosts and possession — a context in which the American cast and setting might actually serve as novelties.

When director Yam Laranas first saw the creepy, imposing house where he would shoot his new horror film “The Wanting,” he knew the film’s score would need a dense, avante-garde vibe — the kind composer Mark Korven created for “The Witch.” But he assumed hiring Korven would be a lost cause. The film was shot in Hamilton, Ontario, and Laranas needed a Canadian composer under terms set by his Canadian investors, Lazarus Effects Inc., and the production and tax support he received from Ontario Media Development Corporation. Then Laranas’ editor, Diane Brunjes, asked him something that surprised him: “You know that Mark Korven is Canadian,...

Whether you’re shooting a horror movie on a multi-million dollar budget or an iPhone, the most important thing is “always the story,” says director Yam Laranas. Just in time for Halloween, Laranas took a break from making his upcoming psychological thriller “The Wanting” to tell TheWrap about the art of scaring people silly. (You can watch the full video of his best advice above.) Because story is so vital, he starts by reading a script at least 10 times before devising a shot list for the entire movie. The “real scary stories,” Laranas says, touch on people’s “fears, nightmares and the skeletons in.
