James Gunn’s Superman movie is now in production, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t a few more cast members to be announced. THR has reported that Wendell Pierce, best known for his work on The Wire, will play Perry White in Superman, the editor-in-chief of The Daily Planet.
We’ve seen a few actors portray Perry White on the big screen, including Jackie Cooper, who played the role in Superman: The Movie, Superman II, Superman III, and Superman IV: The Quest for Peace. Frank Langella took over the role for Superman Returns, with Laurence Fishburne stepping in for Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

James Gunn took to Instagram to celebrate the first day of principal photograph on Superman: Legacy, except, that’s not what the movie is called anymore. The new title of Superman: Legacy is now simply… Superman.
“Overjoyed to be announcing the start of principal photography on Superman today, February 29, which just so happens to be – coincidentally and unplanned – Superman’s birthday,” Gunn wrote. “When I finished the first draft of the script, I called the film Superman: Legacy. By the time I locked the final draft, it was clear the title was Superman. Making our way to you July 2025.“

Exclusive: Chudor House Productions and Artist International Group are teaming on a series adaptation of Truth is a Flightless Bird, the internationally bestselling crime novel from Akbar Hussain.
Banshee‘s Adam Targum will serve as showrunner for the drama, with Odiri Iwuji at Chudor House and Aleksey Ageyev at Artist International Group producing. NneNne Iwuji (African Queens: Njinga) is set to co-write alongside Targum and will serve as an executive producer.
Set between Kenya and the U.S., Truth is a Flightless Bird is a brutal love letter to the frontier town that is present-day Nairobi: a studied observation of the failure of bare-knuckled capitalism, the inequality machines our cities have become, and — ultimately — the profoundly irrational human capacity to hope, to risk everything in order to have something in which to believe.

As much as we loved Henry Cavill’s portrayal of Superman, his take on the character didn’t include much humor, but it doesn’t sound as though that will be the case with Superman: Legacy. While speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Rachel Brosnahan teased that the new Superman played by David Corenswet will “have a sense of humor.“
“I’ve really enjoyed the collaboration with James Gunn so far,” Brosnahan said. “Every single person involved in this production is just such a perfect nerd for Superman. We all grew up watching the movies. Some of us were reading the comics. So I feel like it’s being made with so much love. And I think this Superman will have a sense of humor… We’re excited to both put our own spin on things and honor the material we love so much.” The actress added that her take on Lois Lane will be “feisty,...

According to Deadline, DC Studios are preparing to begin the testing process for the role of Supergirl in the DC Universe. In the mix are Milly Alcock (House of the Dragon), Emilia Jones (Locke & Key), and Meg Donnelly (The Winchesters).
Deadline’s report states that the Supergirl testing will take place sometime in the next month, with James Gunn definitely playing a part in the process. The character is set to take the lead of Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, but there’s the chance she could make an appearance in another DC project, which is why the studio wants to sign an actress sooner rather than later. We all know how this process goes, so take this all with a grain of salt; while these actresses could wind up testing for the role, it could easily land in someone else’s lap.

It was recently revealed that Superman: Legacy would start shooting in March, which left fans wondering whether we might see our first look at the new Superman suit before then.
One fan took to Threads to ask James Gunn, “What’s the likelihood of seeing what the suit looks like before filming in March?” Unfortunately, Gunn had a pretty definite response: “zero-point-zero.” This likely means that Superman: Legacy will start shooting in the studio, which makes it much easier to keep photo leaks under wraps. As we saw with Deadpool 3, the paparazzi shots came fast and furious as soon as the production moved outside, which is why Marvel got ahead of the game by releasing an official look at Deadpool and Wolverine.

Update: James Gunn is denying THR’s report that Pom Klementieff and Mariam Shor have joined Superman: Legacy. “Despite Pom being one of my favorite actors to work with, this is 100% not true,” Gunn wrote on Threads. “Not only is Pom not in the movie, but no one has ever even discussed her being in the movie, nor do I have any idea what role she would possibly play.” As for Miriam Shor, Gunn said that he’d “like to find a place for Miriam in the Dcu, maybe even in Legacy, but she isn’t presently cast in anything.“

The villain for Superman: Legacy has seemingly been revealed - and it's not at all who fans expected.
Per Deadline, María Gabriela De Faría is set to play Angela Spica, a.k.a. The Engineer. The character is a member of The Authority, which has been long-rumored to have a part in the movie. These characters don't originally hail from the DC Universe in the comics, but instead the Wildstorm Universe. In the comics, Spica is only the second Engineer, with her powers being tied to technology and nanites. This gives her a metallic, mechanical appearance that's likely going to be emulated in the upcoming DC Universe movie. Created by Warren Ellis and Bryan Hitch, Angela Spica/The Engineer debuted in The Authority #1.
Jacob Elordi Reveals Why He Turned Down James Gunn's Superman: Legacy
The report of her casting seemingly confirms that she and The Authority will be the antagonists of the movie.

Supernatural had a strong 15-season run and even multiple spinoffs, so it would be unsurprising if it was given a modern reboot that recast the main characters. First airing in 2005, Supernatural focused on the Winchester brothers, Sam and Dean (played by Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles), as they followed in their father's footsteps to fight demons and eliminate dark supernatural entities from the Earth. The Winchester brothers’ relationship was a key aspect of Supernatural and, despite their best efforts, they often struggled to stay as close as when they were young.
The end of Supernatural was as recent as 2020, but it's more and more common for popular TV shows to be rebooted quickly after the original concluded. One example of this is the Gossip Girl reboot, which although poorly received and quickly canceled created a story that was aimed at Gen Z. The Supernatural prequel series The Winchesters was canceled in 2023 after only one season,...

The Coyote vs. Acme cast is full of great actors and returning Looney Tunes icons. Based on the 1990 New Yorker article of the same name by Ian Frazier, Coyote vs. Acme is a unique, tongue-in-cheek spin on the old Wile E. Coyote and Roadrunner cartoons. The cartoons usually see Wile E. Coyote attempting to use a product from the Acme Corporation to kill the Roadrunner, and the defining running gag of the series sees every single Acme product backfiring on Wile E. Coyote in a very painful way. In Coyote vs. Acme, he’s finally had enough and decides to sue the company.

Luke Tennie is a good-natured guy, someone who’s quick with a compliment and loves to cook elaborate dinners for his spouse. “I’m one of the happiest dudes I’ve ever met,” the actor tells Gold Derby in an exclusive video interview. So when it came time for Tennie to audition to play Sean on the Apple TV+ comedy “Shrinking” he had some decisions to make. The character is a combat veteran whose post-traumatic stress disorder and anger management issues have knocked him off course. But within that drama, Sean is also quite funny, particularly in his interactions with his new therapist, Jimmy (played by comic veteran Jason Segel).

Maria Gabriela de Faría has been cast in the upcoming Fox comedy series “Animal Control,” Variety has learned exclusively.
de Faría will appear in the series in a recurring guest star role. She joins previously announced cast members Joel McHale, Vella Lovell, Ravi Patel, Michael Rowland, Grace Palmer, Gerry Dee, Kelli Ogmundson, and Alvina August.

"So how does that make you feel?" This question has been uttered by just about every incarnation of a therapist on screen, and the new series "Shrinking" is no different. Jason Segel stars as Jimmy Laird, a grieving therapist who realizes he's running on auto-pilot with his patients and trying to numb himself after the loss of his wife instead of actually dealing with his problems. Realizing he needs to make a massive change, Jimmy decides to throw the ethical rulebook out the window and tell his clients exactly what he thinks, much to the chagrin of fellow psychiatrist, Dr. Paul Rhodes (Harrison Ford). Rather than wait to hear how a patient "feels" about a situation, he's dishing out advice that will shake up their lives ... and his own.
If the premise alone doesn't have you hooked, perhaps its the knowledge that "Shrinking" is the latest venture from Bill Lawrence,...

Adapted by Meaghan Oppenheimer, Tell Me Lies follows a tumultuous but intoxicating relationship as it unfolds over the course of 8 years. When Lucy Albright (Van Patten) and Stephen DeMarco (White) meet at college, they are at that formative age when seemingly mundane choices lead the way to irrevocable consequences.
