It’s safe to say Cobra Kai is one of Netflix’s fan-favorites, especially for those into martial arts and fighting. But it’s even more special for anyone who watched The Karate Kid back in the ’80s — the movie that sparked the whole series and kept the story going on streaming.

Turns out a key character never made it into the new series, and not many know why. Chad McQueen, who played the villain Dutch — the most ruthless member of the gang — would’ve been a huge addition to the show. While Cobra Kai isn’t over yet, sadly, any chance of seeing him return is now gone with the news of his passing.

Foil gowns appear hot right now, but I’m not exactly sure how to feel about that. Carrie Underwood is the latest celeb to jump on the trend, giving Michelle Yeoh a run for her money with her Rafik Zaki dress after the latter made waves at the Met Gala with her crumpled foil gown.

A newly released rough mix of “Photograph” from Def Leppard’s archives shows a different side to the Number One rock chart hit. Where the version that came out on Pyromania and dominated rock radio in 1983 finds the band singing “Photograph” and Joe Elliott responding, “I don’t want your … / I don’t need your …” the rough mix has less vocals and more space. It sounds almost like a new wave song with more prominent (and funkier) bass, less reverb, and a lot more jangly guitar in the chorus. The cowbell remains the same.

Def Leppard have announced a 40th anniversary expanded reissue of their seminal 1983 album Pyromania, arriving April 26th.
The legendary UK band is pulling all the stops for the reissue campaign, digging into the archives for previously unreleased demos, outtakes, rough mixes, and live recordings.
The 4-cd/Blu-Ray and 2-lp editions will include the original remastered album as well as these archival recordings, including a rare rough mix of “Photograph” with an unfinished vocal track and a previously “long lost” demo of “No You Can’t Do That” — an outtake and the “11th track” from the Pyromania sessions.
“Rediscovering dusty old cassettes which were brilliantly restored by [executive producer] Ronan [McHugh] and finding the long lost unfinished ’11th track’ was a journey only few of us are lucky enough to take,” remarked singer Joe Elliot in a press release. “What a trip!”

Rob Moose and Bon Iver have teamed up for the new collaborative single “Marvel Room,” taken from the former’s upcoming debut EP, Inflorescence.
In a statement, Rob Moose — whose work as an arranger with Bon Iver stretches as far back as the band’s 2011 self-titled LP — called frontman Justin Vernon “a creative north star” who “coaxes creative breakthroughs out of me.” Fittingly, “Marvel Room” began as an “idea” while recording 2019’s i,i, “though it wasn’t one we approached together during the arranging process.”
“I encountered it during a hard drive deep dive, and was intrigued by its propulsive rhythms and baritone incantations,” he continued. “We passed the track back and forth a few times as the form and content emerged. He asked me for more subdivided rhythm in places, and I wondered if he might throw in a touch of sparkle toward the end. A year later,...

Phoebe Bridgers has re-released the fan-favorite deep cut “Waiting Room” on Bandcamp, with all proceeds benefiting the charity Music Will.
Years before Stranger in the Alps and Punisher made her indie famous, “Waiting Room” had all the trappings of Bridgers’ ballad songwriting. The track first appeared on a 2015 compilation organized by the California recording studio Lost Ark, which was removed from Spotify earlier this year.
Fortunately, it’s now up on Bandcamp, and if fans opt to purchase the song, its proceeds will go to the music education nonprofit Music Will. As the largest music nonprofit in the United States, the program provides teacher training to expand music programs across the country.
Earlier this month, Bridgers went into the vaults to rework her song “Wasted” alongside her longtime collaborator, the arranger Rob Moose. She also appeared on Arlo Parks’ new song “Pegasus.”

A sallow, elderly woman gets a Phoebe Bridgers makeover in the video for “Wasted,” a track off composer Rob Moose’s upcoming Inflorescence solo EP that features the singer-songwriter. Tattooed hands apply makeup, a “wasted” colorful necklace, and even a grill to the woman’s teeth as Bridgers sings, “Now I’m wasted, wastin’ all of my breath/Wasted again” over Moose’s sparkling, expanding strings.
“Rob is my son,” Bridgers said in a statement. “That’s an inside joke, but there is a deeper connection we share musically, which resembles being blood related.

Phoebe Bridgers fans are in for a treat with “Wasted,” a new studio recording of an old relic reimagined by arranger/longtime Bridgers collaborator Rob Moose. Check it out below.
“Wasted” was written by Bridgers’ bandmate Marshall Vore. In Moose’s version, the track rests on soaring, heartbreaking strings as the artist sings, “I used to have the energy to get mad/ Used to know how to say sorry/ But now I’m back with none of that.”
Despite its vulnerability, Bridgers focused on her friendship with Moose when discussing “Wasted” in a statement. “Rob is my son,” she said. “That’s an inside joke but there is a deeper connection we share musically which resembles being blood related.”
For his part, Moose offered more insight into the track. “’Wasted’ came my way in 2019,” he said. “I first started to tinker with it on a retreat to Orcas Island, with...

Diplo has written and produced hits for everyone from Beyoncé to Justin Bieber, Madonna to Britney Spears. That’s in addition to releasing chart-topping music under his own name and through an ever-growing list of collaborative projects with names like Major Lazer, Jack Ü, Silk City and LSD.
But for his next sonic adventure, Diplo, 44, dons a stetson and returns to the rustic landscape of his 2020 release, Diplo Presents Thomas Wesley, Chapter 1: Snake Oil. The sequel, Diplo Presents Thomas Wesley: Chapter 2 — Swamp Savant (out April 28 on Columbia), sees the superstar DJ once more adopt his western persona Thomas Wesley and team up with some of the biggest names in country and hip-hop for a new brand of Americana.
The first single, “Wasted,” features Kodak Black and Zoe Wetzel. The second, “Use Me (Brutal Hearts),” lured Sturgill Simpson (singing as “Johnny Blue Skies”) out of hiding after a five-year absence.

Assassin is a sci-fi thriller directed by Jesse Atlas starring Bruce Willis and Dominic Purcell.
Assassin leads us, admittedly poignantly, to the terrible conclusion that a science fiction film can be anything but pedestrian.
And this one has that terrible flaw – that it contains no new ideas other than in its initial premise.
The rest, scenes strung together are more or less well done.
Assassin Film Review
It starts out from a good idea that, carried forward with absolutely no originality, limits itself to ticking off the passing minutes and burning itself up upon the assumptions of a thriller that, scene by scene, is not bad, but lacks substance when viewed as a whole.
A film that does not want to, does not know how to – or just simply fails to – stand out and make an impact, a film shot with the lightness of a professional who performs a routine,...

More than any other pop star of the 2000s, Lil Wayne thrived in the chaos left behind by a rapidly changing music industry. When streaming was still a dream and physical CD sales were cratering, the New Orleans rapper consumed and re-contextualized everything from the Beatles to Beyoncé. It was an exciting time like no other, but as a result of this approach, many of his best bars, punchlines, and melodies are clearance nightmares at best and completely lost to time at worse. Where most artists’ discographies can be easily...

I’m an old-school Samurai Jack fan, so Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time arrived on my (figurative) desk with a fair amount of excitement. However, I approached my digital copy of the game with extreme caution; my previous experience with the PlayStation 2 release Samurai Jack: The Shadow of Aku left me with a sour taste in my mouth.
Although Adult Swim Games has a pretty good track record with me (I’m a dedicated fan of both Rain World and Wasted), the lingering fear that Battle Through Time would be another Samurai Jack-related disappointment weighed on my mind. Fortunately, as soon as I finished Time’s very quick tutorial, all of those fears melted away. Although not without its faults, Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time manages to capture the look, feel, and spirit of the show and its charismatic lead.
Before I continue, a word of warning: If you...

Def Leppard have compiled a thorough accounting of their earliest days — when they burst out of their native Sheffield, England, as part of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal — for a new box set.
The Early Years 79-81 collects remastered versions of their first two LPs, On Through the Night and High ‘n’ Dry, along with live recordings, outtakes, and recordings for the BBC. The five-disc set, which frontman Joe Elliott executive-produced, will come out March 20th.
“Well, the fans asked, and we listened,” Elliott said in a statement.

When you’re recovering from a break-up by writing a pop song, the ultimate kiss off needs to be wisely executed. Lulu Simon, daughter of Paul, found the formula for a deliciously pissed off break-up bop with her single “Wasted.”
Hailing from the school of Carly Rae Jepsen’s Kiss, “Wasted” is candy-coated synth-bliss that feels nostalgic for recent pop history. On the deceptively upbeat song, Simon regrets the time she wasted on her ex-boyfriend who sucked up her summer months and still cheated on her. She has (mostly) moved on,...

Since signing the rapper 03 Greedo in 2017, Alamo Records founder Todd Moscowitz has grown accustomed to playing catch-up. “This is how Greedo works,” he explains. “You get a phone call one day: ‘Hey, I made four albums over the last few weeks.’ Oh really? ‘Yeah, I went in with so and so, and we did 30 records. Then I went in with this producer, and we did 10 more records.'”
Last July, 03 Greedo was sentenced to 20 years in prison on charges of drug trafficking and unlawful possession of firearms. But his relentless...

Pop star and actor Jesse McCartney performs as four different characters – a stylish playboy, a tough-guy biker, a distinguished butler and a boozing older woman – in his soap opera parody video for “Wasted.”
Director Jason Lester clip models the clip after vintage daytime serials, offering melodramatic close-ups, intentionally cheesy dialogue, campy bumper IDs and outlandish plot twists (including a love triangle and an “incurable disease”). The action takes place at a lavish mansion, where rivals Ricky Moonstruck and Brock Donahue fight over a romantic interest. The butler, Chamberlain, interrupts the action with a crossbow,...

Gucci Mane fans beware ... there will be no questions asked, if you jump on stage during his concert ... you're gonna regret it. Check out the video, where a fan stage-crashes during the rapper's concert Friday night at Brooklyn Mirage. Security is there in a heartbeat and hurls the guy into the crowd. Gucci doesn't miss a beat as he continues his song, "Wasted." Unclear if the dude was hurt, but Ems was not called. You've been warned.

Lil Uzi Vert and Chicago rapper Juice Wrld wallow with video games and drugs on “Wasted.” The new track has a heavy trap beat, though its hook has a distinctly sing-song lilt.
Juice Wrld croons about drowning his heartbreak in games of Grand Theft Auto, as well as other substances: “Wasted, get her off my mind when I’m wasted,” he sings, “Wasted, I waste all my time when I’m wasted.”
Lil Uzi Vert drops in for a verse that starts with a ragged sway and builds to a...
