Too soon... gone too soon.

Wanting more is always the sign of something good.

Anyone who is been in love feels these same emotions. I loved these shorts and hope that everyone who has lost someone is found, redeemed and understands.

Film-making Isn't easy; but, when it tells these truths, it just seems right. It just seems right.

Excellent until it isn't!

Warning: Spoilers
The last 3 minutes ruined the entire series for me. How? By succumbing to gay body-shaming. So what was wrong with the guy Brian mistook for David? He had a belly? He was balding? He had the wrong-color sweater? Now that I think of it, there is not one character in any of the episodes who was less than gorgeous. Come on! Stop perpetuating negative body-image issues. So what if I don't have a six-pack? I have a measured IQ of 150, beeeyatch!

My spouse recently died after 40 years of marriage.

Thank you for weaving a tapestry of optimism, hope, and laughter throughout this very real journey of love, loss, and friendship. I chose to watch all episodes straight through (or I'd need a mop for my tears..!). I looked forward with curiosity to a myriad of possible happy endings. AFTER FOREVER reminds us that love is available in many forms. Give some, take some, make some. Thanks for leaving a smile on my face.

A beautiful story

This series exceeds expectations. Very well written produced and acted. Stories of loss are familiar but not when it comes to gay couples. It is so well told; the switching from real time to the past to the imagination seamlessly. There is real affection here from all the characters for one another and even day to day activities are filled with authenticity.

A MUST SEE for all

I came across After Forever one night after the death of a very close family member. I bing watched all episodes. They hit so close to home. After Forever touches on every emotion involved with loss, regardless of the relationship of those involved. Each episode takes you through all of the stages of loss, and of hope for the future, and reinforces how one can get through loss and grief with the support of great friends. I truly hope After Forever is renewed.

Wow - One Of The Best Things I've Watched In Years

Something adult for a change. Amazing. Watched all 8 episodes in one sitting. Touching. Real characters. Real situations. Nice to see some depiction of adult queer lives, not just teen coming-out angst. Touching story. I don't usually enjoy surrealism/mysticism but it worked flawlessly here. Perfect. Can't recommend this enough. Please watch. There will be tears.

Fine Until the End
theironorchid13 March 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I was really into the idea of a gay positive story not obsessed with youth culture. The main characters were in their 50s giving a romance story not often seen within the LGBTQ+ community.

Then in the final episode, the main character goes on a blind date with someone he seemed to like on the phone. When he arrives, he mistakes his date for a man with a bit of a belly. He then decides he wished he had opted for drinks instead of dinner - presumably because there is NO way in the world he could be attracted to someone carrying weight and/or balding! But oh - it was a mistake, and his date is gorgeous. PSHEW! The day is saved!

Shame on this series for its shallow body shaming, proving the worst about the LGBTQ+ culture - that it's obsessed only with outer beauty. They were SO close to something really good, but lost it in the end with this unnecessary bit of vapid cruelty.

Simply outstanding

Immerse yourself in the lives of the characters and be prepared to be moved, to laugh, and to cry. Quite refreshing to be able to relate to the older generation and the reflection of our own issues at this age.

Very Nice Binge Watching
rfieldj10 December 2018
I remember posting about this series, After Forever, a while ago, and I finally had a chance to see it.

I liked it for many reasons, one of which is that it explores the relationship of a gay couple who have been in a long term relationship and they are forced to face one of the worst realities of life.

I should add that it's not always totally realistic, but it's not far off the mark. It's kind of like a m/m romance novel turned into a TV series. And you have to watch the entire series to get the full meaning. I think most people who read m/m romance novels will love this series.

Mitchell Anderson and Kevin Spirtas, the two main characters, are both openly gay in real life, too.

Slowly...

Started watching wth the husband last night. I wasn't feeling it at first, then it started to grow on me. Short episodes, easy to digest. Looking forward to watching more, if Amazon/producers do the right thing.

An interesting concept surrounded by pretentious name-dropping
hddu10-819-3745831 January 2020
This drama has a lot of good energy, performances and the concept is very well put together overall. But the lead doesn't really seem able to carry the entire story, so the other characters and THEIR contributions/stories are very welcome (gets even better in the 2nd season). However, a few of the performances were over-acted and the biggest turn-off was all the name-dropping (they must REALLY hate Patti Lupone for whatever reason) and references to their lavish New York City lifestyle and proximity to Broadway, academia and artists...from a California stand-point, they just came off as posers. In fact, the more the characters talked about famous people, the more evident it was that pretty much no one famous or recognizable was in this cast. Worth a watch, but definitely a lot of area for growth (assuming there is a season 3).
