The 1996 version of The Island of Dr. Moreau, which was directed by John Frankenheimer (who replaced Richard Stanley after half a week of filming), is a well-known disaster, but that was just one of many cinematic adaptations H.G. Wells’ 1896 novel has received over the years. That novel has inspired the 1932 classic Island of Lost Souls, 1959’s Terror Is a Man, 1972’s The Twilight People, a 1977 film that actually kept the The Island of Dr. Moreau title, the Full Moon production Dr. Moreau’s House of Pain, and more. Now we can add another title to the list, as Deadline reports that Academy Award winner Anthony Hopkins has signed on to star in the The Island of Dr. Moreau reimagining Eyes in the Trees.

Now that Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is almost at the end of its theatrical run, Lucasfilm is preparing for the home release by sharing snippets from the last installment in the Skywalker Saga.
These short clips have included Harrison Ford’s cameo as Han Solo, Rey and Ben teaming up to fight Darth Sidious, a young Luke and Leia training together, Lando Calrissian encouraging Poe to lead the Resistance, and last but not least, Rey slicing through Kylo’s Silencer in one of the movie’s most epic moments. Now, fans can relive the scene that showed the deep bond between R2-D2 and C-3Po.
As seen above, after the group of swashbuckling heroes deletes C-3Po’s memories to decrypt a Sith rune on a dagger, the droid returns to the Resistance base but fails to recognize his old friend. R2-D2, on the other hand,...

Bizarro uses baffling verb tense to wreck space-time in The Terrifics.
Gene Luen Yang made our Best Comics of 2019 list for Superman Smashes the Klan, and it is an incredible Superman comic. It's already one of my all-time favorites. I can't wait for it to wrap and come out in a digest I can pass on to newer readers in my life. But if you factor in degree of difficulty, I think his work on The Terrifics might actually be better.
First of all, the last several issues have been written with healthy doses of Bizarro-speak. Trying to reverse dialogue on its own is difficult enough, but when we talked to him about Superman Smashes the Klan earlier this year, Bizarro came up and Yang told us something terrifying: "...There's no established rules for Bizarro speak."
That's right. There's no established house rule for how to translate normal conversation into Bizarro.

Sometimes if you want something done right, you need to empty a ton of guns into a ton of people yourself. From director James Cullen Bressack, “Beyond the Law” stars Johnny Messner as that ex-cop, who gets dragged back into his old life after his son is murdered. With nothing to lose, he mixes it up with the city’s lowlifes and crosses paths with a veteran detective (Dmx) also determined to uncover the truth. It’s hard to tell good from evil in “Beyond the Law,” but in the brutal first trailer — released ahead of its upcoming day and date release — Johnny Messner and Dmx are determined to figure it out. Despite, of course, the violence meted out by a host of thugs — and Steven Seagal’s trademark wrist-snap. Watch the new trailer, and a lot of brutal beatdowns, exclusively above.
From director James Cullen Bressack, “Beyond the Law” stars Messner as an ex-cop dragged back into his old life after his estranged son is murdered. With nothing to lose, he searches for answers among the city’s most corrupt and dangerous people and crosses paths with a veteran detective (Dmx) also determined to uncover the truth. But as their investigations drag them deeper into the criminal underworld, the come up against the local mob, and a mysterious criminal enforcer (Seagal).
“Beyond the Law” opens theatrically Dec.

Lucasfilm’s Sequel Trilogy has so far introduced us to Poe’s X-Wing Fighter and the super-sleek Silencer, which was Kylo Ren’s ride of choice during The Last Jedi.
But with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker fast approaching, it appears the First Order has expanded its arsenal to include the Sith Tie Fighter, a more aggressive, warship that still retains all of the design hallmarks from the Original Trilogy. If anything, this newly-unveiled ship exists somewhere between Kylo’s two-pronged harbinger of death and the classic Tie Fighters of old, though it’s unclear as yet who (if anyone) will be piloting it.
The image itself comes to us by way of Reddit, and presents a detailed overview of The Rise of Skywalker, its cast, and the vehicles on hand. You’ll also notice the Knights of Ren, many of whom are wielding barbaric weapons that will no...

When Arrow returns for Season 7, there will be some big changes in store.
For a start, Oliver Queen will be incarcerated for being the vigilante, and that means he will come face-to-face with some of the people he helped put inside.
While Oliver is facing the music on the inside, his team will be put in some disastrous situations on the outside. There's a no-vigilante rule in Star City, meaning Team Arrow is essentially defunct.
But that won't stop the Longbow Hunters who have been sent on a mission by Diaz to exact revenge on everyone close to Oliver.
Who will be playing the Longbow Hunters, you ask?
First up is Red Dart, who will be played by Holly Elissa. She is described as "a ruthless and precise killer."

The hunt for Arrow’s Longbow Hunters is over. At the CW series’ San Diego Comic-Con panel on Saturday, it was announced that three actors had been cast as the most fearsome of the DC villains who, during Season 7, will be exacting revenge on Oliver’s team on behalf of Ricardo Diaz. (You’ll recall that their toppling of his criminal empire in the Season 6 finale left him with a major axe to grind.) So, who’s playing the recurring roles?
