An American Hippie in Israel: Cast Q&A (2013)
*** 1/2 (out of 4)
Asher Tzarfati and Shmuel Wolf, the two stars of AN American HIPPIE IN ISRAEL, are the main focus of this documentary that clocks in just under a hour. The two men are recorded separate as they discuss the making of this film, which was forgotten for decades before being rediscovered and becoming a cult classic. I was really shocked to see how well-made and entertaining this thing was but it covers a lot of different aspects in regards to the film. We start off learning a bit about the two actors and then we go into how they were hired for the movie and we learn just about everything you could possibly want to know. We learn about the drug and sex on the film. The actors talk about their roles and the dialogue that they had to make up. They talk about their shock when the film was rediscovered. There's really not a stone that isn't looked under and the two men tell some wonderful stories about the production. This here is certainly a must have for fans of the film.
