Sniper Fire
Hitchcoc19 May 2017
J. Edgar is in his house, left alone as he puzzles over the death Woody. Everyone is concerned. The topic off taking another person's life is mulled over, even when that person posed a deadly threat. Harry moves to protect his daughter. The Afghani thieves are one less in number and need to find a way to lay low as they realize all that money doesn't do much good when your life is in danger. Things are drawing toward a conclusion but not without tremendous collateral damage. This episode closes out with a dramatic scene. By the way, does anyone else out there see how boring this show gets whenever the Chief shows up. He is strong and silent and utterly stagnant.

Powerful acting, mixed-quality plots

My overall rating of "Bosch"'s Season 3: 4/10

The initial scene of this episode has some truly incredible acting from all 4 people involved, including 2 child actors. Over the course of the episode we get some very compelling performances from nearly everybody, whether positive or negative characters. However too many things are either unnecessary padding, unpleasant (Irving's love story manages to be both) or contrived (so how exactly does the bad guy find J. Edgar, and how on Earth does he not finish the job? Bosch's search is also out there, and doesn't even propel the plot).

Warning: Spoilers
I have really enjoyed all episodes of Bosch. The story lines and interweaving crimes and suspects have been great.

But with this particular episode I have a few problems. 1. Edgar continues to snoop behind Bosch's back even though I thought they resolved all this in the previous episode. Why continue with the digging.

2. This point is even more stressful. Edgar is worried about revenge from the ex military persons of interest yet when he is sitting at home of a night, he sits with his back to a massive window with the blinds up. Twice he doesn't hear someone come up to his door and knock. Even Bosch does it when he visits. Any hack could walk up and put 2 in the back of his head. Doesn't need to be a sniper.
