- TriviaThis the first and only episode where 'Previously...' covers a single scene/sequence. Although, it's not continuous and features Miss Quill's speech divided into 2 shots [partially from the perspective featuring everybody sitting inside the classroom] than one (it was only Charlie's perspective in Detained (2016)). Consequently, the screen doesn't fade-in to black (blackout) to begin the episode but visuals keep running sequentially till the opening credits and an on-screen text appears reading 'Now...' [positioned exactly at the same place as 'Previously...' text] to reflect it before fading-out (slowly disappearing).
- GoofsAt the end of 'Previously...', Charlie says "What are you going to do? Quill, hey, hey!" whereas he originally said "Hey! She can't do this!" in Detained (2016). This is to show how different characters perceive the same events differently.

Miss Quill: [to Ames] Right, well, if you ever do something like that again without warning me, I'll pluck the eyelids from your screaming face.

The Metaphysical Engine, or What Quill Did
In the previous episode, class was in detention and dealing with a meteor. Miss Quill went off to deal with the metaphysical as she and Ames along with a shapeshifter impersonating a Zygon called Ballon who is also a prisoner. Here we see the result of their adventures.
The task is to go to metaphysical alien worlds and belief systems. The Arn version of heaven, Ballon's peoples hell and a god that Quill's race believe in.
It all leads to Quill feeling like a soldier one more time, an eye opening extraction process, Ballon and Quill making love and Ames maybe showing her hand as a nasty one which leads me to conclude that the school governors are up to no good.
This episode feels more like a genuine sci fi episode albeit still a low budget one, despite being beautifully filmed. This is because here we are not concentrating on the teenagers. Yet Quill's wisecracks still makes her the most intriguing character.
