Violence & Gore

  • People are suddenly impaled with objects and have them torn out very frequently. The game also has finishing moves, such as brutally stabbing, crushing, and otherwise harming other characters. The game has some strong violence, but it could be handled by children 12 and older.
  • The Joker's super move involves putting his opponent on an electric chair and electrocuting them.
  • The overall violence in this game is a lot higher than that of "Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe" (just like its predecessor, "Gods Among Us"), and the most brutal depictions of violence are the "Super Moves", which are the "Injustice" counterparts of the X-Rays from "Mortal Kombat", and feature characters being pummeled in brutal fashion.
  • The Super Moves include:
  • The Beast Below: Aquaman runs at his opponent and stabs them with his trident before throwing them over his head and summoning a tidal wave. He then lifts his opponent above the surface of a whirlpool as lightning strikes his trident, followed by a couple of slashes. Suddenly, a large Mosasaur bites his opponent and swims down with Aquaman following. The Mosasaur drops his opponent as Aquaman impales them with his trident once again.
  • The Butcher: Atrocitus recites the Red Lantern Oath as he impales his opponent in the gut with a blade and punches them against a rock. He then summons the Butcher, which charges at the opponent, destroying the rock and knocking them onto the floor. Atrocitus then vomits plasma onto the opponent.
  • The Big Bang: Atom shrinks and hits his enemy in the leg and back before delivering a jab to the face and then slams them to the ground, causing them to bounce in the air. Atom then retains his normal size and uppercuts them while in the air before being his gigantic size and pummels them to the ground.
  • Vengeance of Bane: Bane stomps his foot, launching his opponent into the air. Bane leaps after them and hits them, headbutts them and slams his knee into their face before finishing them off with an earth-shattering DDT.
  • Bat of Gotham: Batman tackles his opponent, attaching a gadget that lifts them into the path of the Batwing, which pulls them straight up before turning and diving. The Batwing fires a machine gun at the opponent before hitting them with a missile, sending them crashing to the ground.
  • SHAZAM!!!: Black Adam grabs his opponent and flings them into Egypt, where they crash into the side of a pyramid. Adam tackles them through the pyramid and out the top, yells "SHAZAM!", and quickly moves out of the way as the lightning strikes the opponent, obliterating the pyramid in the process.
  • Sonic Scream: Black Canary jumps up into the air and screams down at the opponent with her Canary Cry, forcing them to their knees. She then lands in front of them and bicycle kicks them up into the air, jumping up again to slam them into the ground with her Canary Cry, then dropping down onto the opponent with a gut punch.
  • Speared and Seared: Black Manta activates his trident and lunges at the opponent. He then uses two shoulder-mounted missile launchers to blast the opponent and fire his spear gun to pull the opponent towards him before finishing with his helmet's eye lasers, scorching the opponent.
  • Shape Shifter: Blue Beetle stabs his enemy with claws to stun them, then he hits them twice with swords and maces, and shoots them with two machine guns before merging them into a giant laser that creates a powerful blast that hits at the opponent as a coup de grace.
  • Skull Ship: Brainiac sprouts his four mechanical appendages in his back, one of them grabs the opponent and kicks the opponent to the ground, he then sends four robots to fire their harpoons on his enemy before his ship arrives and activates a laser beneath the ship that fires down at the opponent, destroying his own robots with enough force from the laser.
  • Absolute Zero: Captain Cold shoots a cold blast at the opponent. If it hits, they are then transported to a cold field where Captain Cold rides an icy trail while riddling the opponent with ice blasts. After reaching the top, Captain Cold jumps and forms a large icicle, then uses it to crush the opponent underneath.
  • Bad Kitty: Catwoman starts by jumping at her opponent and kicking them in the face before leaping off-screen and riding a motorcycle towards them. She uses her whip to grab her opponent's legs and drag them along the ground. She then returns, pulls the motorcycle upwards and jumps off as it falls onto her opponents, exploding violently.
  • Queen of the Jungle: Cheetah charges at the opponent, throws them into the air, then slices them thrice. After falling off, Cheetah slices her opponent a few more times, then jumps onto their back, breaking their spine (complete with audible disturbing sounds of the spine shattering to pieces, followed by a violent whiplash) and slamming them into the floor.
  • Apokolips: Cyborg blows his enemy through a Boom Tube into Apokolips. Parademons attack the enemy and drags them back to Cyborg through the still-open Boom Tube, and he blasts them with enough force to destroy the Parademons and violently slam the opponent to the ground.
  • Boss Darkseid: Darkseid fires his Omega Beams at his opponent, sending them into orbit. The Omega Beams smash the opponent through several satellites before Darkseid catches them in his enlarged hand, crushing them in it before pulling them through the Boom Tube back into the arena.
  • Never Miss: Deadshot hits the opponent with the butt of his assault rifle, then throws the rifle into air. While the rifle is airborne, he proceeds to punch and stab the opponent in the chest, then goes behind and elbows the opponent's head and shoots them on their back, then stabs them again in the chest and shoots them, and finally, catches his rifle and shoots them in the face over his shoulder.
  • The Amulet of Anubis: Doctor Fate sucks the opponent into a portal on his chest that brings him to a room inhabited by three Dr. Fates who slam him into the wall, strike him with two orbs, and push him with an amulet that ejects him out of his chest.
  • Out of Body Experience: Enchantress jumps into the air and releases a short spark of energy at the opponent, staggering them. She then proceeds to create a vortex that surrounds her and her opponent, then takes her opponent's soul and controls it to give the opponent a beating. Enchantress then makes the soul rapidly spin into an energy ball in mid-air and the energy ball then strikes the opponent while they're on the ground, causing an explosion as the vortex disappears.
  • Molecular Mayhem: Firestorm dashes past his opponent and throws 2 fireballs at them. He then goes underground and emerges from beneath his opponent, sending them upwards into the air, where he proceeds to form 2 large fireballs and slam them into his opponent.
  • Time Changer: Flash hits the opponent that takes them into a spin. He then grabs them and travels back in time to slam them against the Sphinx, then he travels back in time again to slam them into a Tyrannosaurus Rex, and finally travels forward in time to slam the opponent into themselves.
  • Animal Instinct: Grodd blasts his opponent with a psychic blast, bring them closer to him so he can grab them and pummel them into the ground a few times. He then brings his opponent closer to his face, roars at them and then punches them across the arena.
  • Target Practice: Green Arrow hits his opponent with his bow, then fires an explosive arrow behind them. He grabs his opponent and throws them over his head onto the explosive arrow. Next, he fires an ice arrow at his opponent, freezing him/her in ice, before stomping on his opponent, shattering the ice.
  • Mechanized Assault: Green Lantern slams giant robot boots onto his enemy, then he makes them into legs and then claps them with hands before it forms a body. Green Lantern then hits them with the head, making a whole robot and finally fires a giant laser blast to his opponent.
  • Get 'Em Boys: Harley takes a bomb and throws it behind her enemy before she slides beneath them, launching them in the air and making them land on the bomb, which stuns them. Harley then summons Bud & Lou to bite them repeatedly, yelling "Snack time, boys!" and after Bud & Lou run away, she whacks them with a bat.
  • Final Resting Place: Hellboy pulls out one of his medallions and punches a hole in the ground with the Right Hand of Doom, creating a portal to Hell, then lunges onto his opponent while the ground traps their feet, tackling them into the hole. He punches them several times while falling into Hell. The opponent lands and is attacked by demons while Hellboy does an overhead smash with his axe before bringing him and the opponent back to the battlefield.
  • Not So Funny Is It?: The Joker hits his opponent with a canister of laughing gas, which sends them onto an electric chair. In a dark room, the Joker then whacks them in the head twice with his crowbar and flips a switch while laughing maniacally, electrocuting the opponent which lights dynamite under the opponent, causing it to explode. If the Joker is equipped with a "Side Order of Pie" ability, then his Super Move will start by throwing a pie at his opponent's face.
  • FEED ME: Poison Ivy blows plant toxins in the opponent's face. She then turns the stage into a jungle, whereupon a monstrous-looking Venus Flytrap pulls the opponent in with its vine-like tongue and begins chewing the opponent before she pulls them out of the monster's mouth. The opponent then crashes into a wall before returning to the stage.
  • Power Surge: Raiden teleports his opponent and himself to Earthrealm at the stone bridge located at the raining Sky Temple, flying at them, and then carrying them to the sky where a massive thunderbolt strikes them. Raiden then uses his electrical powers to transform into a dragon (à la the Mortal Kombat logo), which bites them and smashes them back to the ground, triggering an electrical explosion that transports Raiden and his opponent back to the stage afterwards.
  • Gotham's Outlaw: Red Hood detonates a grenade into his opponent's face, then drops a timer grenade behind the opponent and dropkicks them onto it. The explosion launches them upwards, and Red Hood fires several shots at the victim with his pistols before rolling backwards and jumping up to plant a sticky bomb onto their back. He then rains bullets down on them from above before aiming down his pistol's iron sight and shooting the sticky bomb, causing it to explode.
  • Holding Back: Robin stabs his opponent with his sword, then throws a set of batarangs into the distance, before charging at his opponent with his sword. After slicing them a few times, Robin backflips and poses as the batarangs return and embed themselves in his opponent before detonating. • Death Bed: Scarecrow uses his sickle to rip open a hole in reality, as crows come out to signal the coming of an even bigger chain coming from inside the rip. The opponent is then pulled into a graveyard, where a gigantic version of Scarecrow drags the opponent with the chain, smashing and pounding them into the ground twice. The move eventually ends with Scarecrow smashing the opponent downwards into a grave with their name engraved on the headstone.
  • Starry Night: Starfire blasts her starbolts at her opponent, sending them into space. She then fires a barrage of starbolts into her opponent, sending them further into space. She finishes off by unleashing all of her energy into a supernova, sending her opponent crashing back to Earth.
  • Deep Freeze: Sub-Zero strikes the ground with an icy blast, causing the opponent to slip. Sub-Zero then slides towards his opponent, flipping them in the air, then freezes them in mid-air before brutally smashing them with an ice hammer, sending them flying across the arena. He then teleports in front of the opponent and barrages them with icy spikes, freezing them mid-flight, before grabbing their head and slamming them face-first into the ground, shattering the ice.
  • Asteroid Shower: Supergirl uppercuts her opponent and grabs them before shooting into space. She circles the sun to power herself up, then tosses the opponent away and fires her heat vision while roaring in rage, smashing the opponent through an asteroid belt and sending them crashing to Earth, where they are struck by more asteroids.
  • Final Flight: Superman flies forward to grab his opponent by the throat and launches them into the stratosphere with a powerhouse punch. Streaking after them, he sends them flying with two more punches, then flies ahead and catches them. He then dives down, slamming his opponent into the ground. If the "Meteor Drop" skill is equipped, Superman flies into orbit and smashes a meteor onto the head of his opponent before starting the Super Move.
  • Green Kingdom: Swamp Thing sinks his arms to the ground, only for them to resurface underneath the opponent, and then pulls them below the surface. The opponent then bounces off the ground, to which the enlarged hands of Swamp Thing emerge, pummeling the opponent into the stone walls. The hands then grab the opponent and smashes them against a pointy rock. A gigantic hand then grabs the opponent and slams them back down to the ground.
  • Shell Shock: Leonardo jumps over the enemy and slashes them with his Ninjakens. Michelangelo then skates past them on his skateboard and smacks them with his nunchaku before throwing it up into the air. Raphael follows up by kicking the board into the rival's face before throwing his sais into their torso, and Donatello finishes with an overhead strike with his Bo Staff, sending the enemy into the air. The Turtles finish by smashing their shells onto the opponent at the same time.
  • Princess Power: Wonder Woman stuns her opponent with a blast from her bracers, lassos them around the neck with her leg and uppercuts them with her shield, which she then throws at them. She then jumps up and punches the opponent to the ground before impaling them with her sword and shield, then stomps on them.
  • In Sub-Zero's victory pose, he performs his trademark "Spine Rip" Fatality on the opponent. This is all shown from the loser's perspective, so it's not that graphic, but the incredibly gruesome sound effects more than make up for the brutality of that.
  • This is basically the Teen version of Mortal Kombat
  • Sub-Zeros outro though it shows no gore has EXTREMELY graphic noises
  • Lots of blood puddles most are in fights and some in the cutscenes
  • Dead shot has tones of supernovae that's stabbing people, and shooting them also the stabbing portion is extremely violent
  • A characters throat is slit near the beginning, the actually slitting is offscreen but his bleeding corpse is show, slightly easier to watch because the character says he killed 121 women.
  • The game has tons of fighting and people crashing into buildings.

Profanity

  • One use of the word "shit."
  • 6 uses of the world "damn."
  • 1 bleeped use of fuck
  • Couple uses of "ass."
  • "Bitch" is said in Red Hood-spoken dialogue.
  • While profanity is pretty common in the story it's very rare in regular gameplay.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • hellboy in his dialogues smokes a cigarette
  • One of the stages is at a bar where people are drinking, but that's about it, and you can barley notice it while fighting

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The game's storyline is very somber and intense, as it deals with the consequences of Superman's tyranny and how everyone has to fight to restore peace. As such, the game is very depressing, and it has the tone, look and feel of a dystopian film, as well as having the tone of a doomsday film. They also mention about Superman killing people and Batman not
  • A much darker and more violent game. Not too violent, still Pg 13 levels of violence, but this has more blood in, and more death scenes
