Quotes

  • Kara Danvers : When it comes to buddies, pal, you are the best!

Barry Allen : I love you more than the lightning bolt I wear on my chest!

Kara Danvers : If you're ever sad, I'll bring you flowers!

Barry Allen : You can list "soprano" as one of your powers.

Kara Danvers : If you're ever broke...

Barry Allen : ...I got the cash!

Kara Danvers : On my couch...

Barry Allen : ...you're welcome to crash.

Kara Danvers : And if you ever need a hand...

Barry Allen : ...I'll be there in a flash!

    Kara Danvers : Barry!

Barry Allen : That was funny.

  • Joe West : Damn, Bar, I would have paid good money to see you singing and dancing.

Kara Danvers : Uh, well, he's holding out on you, because Barry has an amazing voice.

    Caitlin Snow : He does!

    Barry Allen : Uh-uh.

Caitlin Snow : I've actually seen him sing.

Cisco Ramon : What, you have? How have we not made a GIF of that?

  • Barry Allen : In times like these, when life is getting me down, and the world seems like it's gonna end... ship! There's a least one power that we both still have, and that's the power of...

    Kara Danvers : Friendship?

Barry Allen : Yeah, that's exactly what I was gonna say!

Kara Danvers : Well, it's an easy rhyme.

  • Barry Allen : [sings]  When you need a compliment, I can rattle off a dozen. For instance, I have to say I'm not impressed... by your more famous cousin!

Kara Danvers : [speaking]  Thank you! No one ever says that!

Barry Allen : [does an exaggerated Superman pose]  Oh, he's all like, "oh, I'm Superman! Woo hoo hoo hoo!"

Kara Danvers : [laughs]  That's a really good impression.

  • Music Meister : [after Kara tries to hit his hologram and her hand goes straight through]  Ooh, swing and a miss! I didn't tell you... I'm not really here. See, I'm out there in the real world. Central City's mine for the taking.

Barry Allen : Uh-uh! We're gonna stop you!

    Kara Danvers : Yeah!

Music Meister : You're welcome to try that. If you can get out of here.

Kara Danvers : How do we get out of here?

Music Meister : You're in a movie musical. So all you have to do is just... follow the...

Kara Danvers : The yellow brick road?

Music Meister : No, the-the script.

    Kara Danvers : ...Oh. Yeah.

  • Digsy Foss : Do you know who I am?

Barry Allen : Uh, not Joe West, I'm guessing...?

  • Barry Allen : Okay, look. He says we need to follow the script.

    Kara Danvers : Uh-huh.

Barry Allen : We're in a musical. So I think if we convince them to tell their fathers that they're in love, maybe that will get us out of here.

Kara Danvers : And back home, to being single. Ya-a-ay!

Barry Allen : Well, at least we'll be single together.

Kara Danvers : Saying that won't make anyone feel better.

    Barry Allen : Debatable.

  • Barry Allen : [sings]  I'm your super friend, your super friend. I'll be there in the nick of time if you're ever in a spot.

Kara Danvers : And if you're not there on time, you can just go back in time an give it another shot!

Barry Allen : [speaking]  I'm actually not supposed to do that anymore.

    Kara Danvers : Oh. Okay.

  • Barry Allen : You're a really good singer, by the way.

Kara Danvers : Hey, thanks! My sister says I put the "Kara" in "karaoke."

  • Barry Allen : [about Iris' doppelganger Millie]  Sounds like she's in trouble. Stand back, I'm gonna kick the door in.

Kara Danvers : [offended]  No, you stand back, I kick the door in!

Barry Allen : [defensively]  I didn't mean it like a gender thing, I just wanted to kick the door in right now...

  • Barry Allen , Kara Danvers : I'm your super - it has a double meaning - friend!

  • Barry Allen : How are you guys doing?

Supergirl : Yeah, I think we'll be okay.

    [to Mon-El]

Supergirl : Although, if you lie to me again, I will drop a mountain on you.

Mon-El : Wow. You mean figuratively?

Supergirl : No, I mean geologically.

  • Cutter Moran : What the hell are you talking about, kid? My name is Cutter Moran, I own this club, and the both of you work for me.

Barry Allen , Kara Danvers : We what now?

Cutter Moran : I pay you to sing, not pepper me with questions. And I hope you got something better in your songbook than what you were belting out up there, blondie.

Kara Danvers : Hey! Don't call me blondie.

Barry Allen : Hey, look, I don't know who you are...

[Cutter Moran pulls out a knife]

Barry Allen : ...obviously, you're somebody who's quick with a knife.

Kara Danvers : You have to excuse my friend. He doesn't think before he talks.

Cutter Moran : Yeah, I had a cousin like that. I had to slit his throat too.

  • Cisco Ramon : Man, how did you get out of the cell?

Music Meister : Cisco, do you really think that cell is-is gonna just, like, hold me?

Barry Allen : No, I'm sorry... what's going on? Why would you do this to us?

Music Meister : I did it because I believe in the good guys. I told you when we first met. It was to teach all of you a lesson. 'Cause I see everything, and I saw two people... with two broken hearts.

Supergirl : So the lesson was...

Music Meister : Love, Supergirl. Love is about... letting yourself be saved. It's not just about saving other people. Even if you are superheroes. Anway, I'm sorry that I had to, like, mess with you a little bit. I was just trying to get you to play the game, do the song and dance.

  • Grady : Say, you realize why he got the nickname "Cutter," don't you?

    Barry Allen : No...

Grady : Because he likes to cut people.

  • Kara Danvers : So where are we?

Barry Allen : I don't know. I mean, it could be a parallel dimension, or... maybe some elaborate illusion. We just need to figure a way out.

Kara Danvers : I guess I could click my heels together three times.

    Barry Allen : Yeah...

Kara Danvers : I was kidding.

  • Digsy Foss : Thank god you're safe.

Millie Foss : Oh, of course I'm safe. Barry and Kara told me that you sent them to find me.

Digsy Foss' Husband : We were concerned.

Millie Foss : Dads, there's no reason to be concerned.

    Barry Allen : Dads?

Digsy Foss , Digsy Foss' Husband : You got a problem with that?

  • Kara Danvers : Do you happen to know anything original?

Grady : As a matter of fact, I've been workin' on somethin' all day.

[winks and laughs while he takes place at the piano]

Barry Allen : Wow. Things really are easier in musicals.

    Kara Danvers : Yeah...

  • Barry Allen : This is gonna be weird.

Kara Danvers : Yeah, tell me about it. I'm glad we haven't seen someone that looks like Mon-El. I'd probably just punch him in the face for the fun of it.

  • Barry Allen : What is... where the hell are we? What's going on?

Kara Danvers : I was hoping you could tell me or maybe explain to me why I just pulled an Audrey Hepburn and sang in a nightclub.

Barry Allen : Maybe we're dreaming?

Kara Danvers : The same dream?

  • Barry Allen : Technically, I'm not even the only one here who can sing.

    H.R. Wells : Thank you, B.A.

Barry Allen : What? I was talking about Kara.

H.R. Wells : Sh... oh. You, too?

  • Barry Allen : Who are you, exactly?

    Mon-El : My name's Mon-El. I'm-I'm Kara's... friend. We're more... more than friend. We've been kissing a lot.

Caitlin Snow : Oh. She never mentioned she had a boyfriend.

    Mon-El : It's a recent thing.

  • Mon-El : Look, whatever's going on with me and Kara, I cannot leave her like this, okay? I need to get her back.

Barry Allen : We will. I promise.

  • Barry Allen : [catching Iris and Mon-El's doppelgangers kissing]  What the hell is going on?

Millie Foss : All right, you caught us.

Tommy Moran : We're in love.

Kara Danvers : [gagging]  Ugh, gross.

  • Music Meister : Reach the end of the plot, and presto chango, you get to go home. One little detail, though, I should mention. If you die in here, you die out there.

    Barry Allen : Lovely.

Kara Danvers : I've reached my limit with magical creeps.

Music Meister : In the meantime, I hope you're both ready to get the rust off those pipes of yours.

Kara Danvers : We're not singing for you!

    Barry Allen : No.

Kara Danvers : Uh, any... anymore, I mean.

  • Barry Allen : [seeing all their friends in the musical world]  It's just curiouser and curiouser.

Kara Danvers : Yeah, yeah, it's like "The Wizard of Oz".

    Barry Allen : Yeah.

Kara Danvers : [quoting Dorothy]  "And you were there, and you were there..."

Barry Allen : Except it's not really them. They're all playing characters in a...

Kara Danvers , Barry Allen : Musical.

Kara Danvers : [concerned]  Barry, where are we?

  • Barry Allen : You didn't change anything when I moved in with Cisco.

Iris West : I, um, couldn't bring myself to do it. You know, we've been through a lot these last three years, but, um... getting stuck in a musical?

Barry Allen : Music Meister... said that, you know, it could've been anything, that I created that world because...

Iris West : You were watching them. Because of us.

Barry Allen : You know, my mom used to always say that musicals have the power to make everything better.

Iris West : Did it work?

    Barry Allen : Um...

[playing a song on his phone]

Barry Allen : Can't say how the days will unfold/Can't change what the future may hold/But I want you in it/Every hour, every minute/This world can race by far too fast/Hard to see while it's all flying past/But it's clear now/When you're standing here now/I am meant to be/Wherever you are next to me/All I want to do/Is come runnin' home to you/Come runnin' home to you/And all my life, I promise to/Keep runnin' home to you/Keep runnin' home to you/And I could see it/Right from the start, right from the start/That you would be/Be my light in the dark, light in the dark/Oh, you gave me no other choice/But to love you/All I want to do/Is come runnin' home to you/Come runnin' home to you/And all my life, I promise to/Keep runnin' home to you/Keep runnin' home/Home to you/Can't say how the days will unfold.

[taking out Iris' engagement ring and getting down on one knee]

Barry Allen : Can't change what the future may hold/But I want you in it/Every hour, every minute.

    [speaking]

Barry Allen : Iris West, will you marry me?

    Iris West : Yes.

  • Pablo : Okay, this is the place. Apartment 4B.

Barry Allen : This is where we can find Iris?

    Kara Danvers : Millie.

    Barry Allen : Millie. Right.

  • Barry Allen : Mon-El seems like he really cares about you.

Kara Danvers : [laughing scoff]  Mon-El only cares about himself. He lied to me about who he really is for nine months.

    Barry Allen : Hmm.

Kara Danvers : I can't shake it. I thought it was gonna be something special like what you have with Iris.

Barry Allen : That is... off track.

Kara Danvers : Oh, I'm sorry.

Barry Allen : I asked her to marry me.

Kara Danvers : You did? That's great.

    [seeing his look]

Kara Danvers : Did she not say yes?

Barry Allen : Oh, she said yes, but I guess I did it for the wrong reason, and, I mean, I love her, but I was trying to change the future. Then I pushed her away so I could focus on saving her, and it's just a mess now.

    Kara Danvers : Hmm.

Barry Allen : Everything's so simple when I'm running.

    Kara Danvers : Or flying.

Digsy Foss' Husband : Shut up! Both of you.

    Barry Allen : Stein?

Digsy Foss' Husband : Who... who's Stein?

Barry Allen : [realizing it's just another character]  Right.

  • H.R. Wells : [a breach is open in S.T.A.R. Labs]  B.A., someone's coming through.

Cisco Ramon : Could be Gypsy.

H.R. Wells : Could be, or it could be...

[the breach closes, revealing J'onn and Mon-El, who has an unconscious Supergirl in his arms]

    H.R. Wells : ...Supergirl?

Barry Allen : Kara. What happened to her?

J'onn J'onzz : We don't know, but whoever did it has come to this world.

  • Digsy Foss : I run this town.

Kara Danvers : So you're the mayor?

Digsy Foss : [chuckling]  The mayor may have gotten the vote... but I got the power. I got a situation... that you two are gonna help me with.

Barry Allen : We would love to help you with it.

Kara Danvers : Really love to.

Digsy Foss : My daughter, Millie... she's missing. Last she was seen, she was heading into Cutter Moran's place.

    [giving Barry a photograph]

Digsy Foss : Have you seen her in there?

Barry Allen : [showing Kara that she's a doppelganger of Iris]  Millie, did you say?

    Digsy Foss : Yeah. Why?

Barry Allen : We haven't seen her. I haven't seen her.

    Kara Danvers : I haven't seen her.

Barry Allen : Yeah, we haven't seen...

Digsy Foss : She's the only thing that is good and decent about my life. If anything happened to her, this town will run red with blood.

Digsy Foss' Husband : Starting with yours.

Barry Allen : We wouldn't want that, now, right? So, um, how can we help you?

Digsy Foss : You two sing for Cutter.

Kara Danvers : We sure do.

Barry Allen : Yes, we do.

Digsy Foss : You could poke around and see if you can find her.

    Barry Allen : Mm-hmm.

Digsy Foss : So, are you gonna do this for me?

Kara Danvers : [quietly]  What do we do?

Barry Allen : Follow the script.

  • Cutter Moran : There you are!

Barry Allen : [surprised to see him]  Merlyn.

    Kara Danvers : Who?

    Cutter Moran : Who?

Barry Allen : Malcolm Merlyn. Former head of the League of Assassins.

Kara Danvers : The what of the what?

  • Barry Allen : So, what else can you tell us about this guy?

J'onn J'onzz : Not much. It's like he just materialized out of thin air.

Cisco Ramon : [seeing Music Meister on surveillance cameras in the Speed Lab]  You mean like this clown just did?

  • Kara Danvers : [after Barry is knocked unconscious]  Barry, are you okay?

Barry Allen : [regaining consciousness]  Oh, please stop yelling.

Kara Danvers : I'm not yelling.

Barry Allen : Wait, where are we?

    Kara Danvers : I don't know.

Barry Allen : All right, well, I'm sure everybody at S.T.A.R. Labs is working on getting us out of this.

Kara Danvers : Yeah, I'm glad they brought me to your Earth.

  • Barry Allen : Your fathers aren't perfect, right?

Kara Danvers : Love isn't perfect.

Barry Allen : No, but you can't let your love for somebody cause you to be afraid of what might happen. You gotta take the good with the bad, no matter what.

    Kara Danvers : Right.

Barry Allen : And that includes... telling your fathers how you two feel about each other.

Millie Foss : All right, you make a convincing argument.

    Tommy Moran : You do.

Millie Foss : We'll do it. We'll tell them about us, right?

Tommy Moran : Well, we should go now.

    Millie Foss : Okay.

Tommy Moran : Gee, thanks, kid.

    Barry Allen : Wow.

Kara Danvers : Okay, uh... convincing people in musicals is... really easy.

Barry Allen : Yeah. Let's hope getting out of one is just as easy.

  • Barry Allen : Millie, your dad thinks you've been kidnapped.

Millie Foss : Well, clearly, he's mistaken.

Kara Danvers : He really wants you to come home.

Millie Foss : Listen, I am never going back there.

    Tommy Moran : Mm-mm.

Kara Danvers : Why not? There's no place like home.

[rolling her eyes that she actually said it]

Millie Foss : Tommy Moran... is my home.

Tommy Moran : And besides, if our geezers ever caught wind of this, they'd go to war. It'd be the end of more than just us, huh?

Millie Foss : Yeah, Tommy's right. Our fathers hate each other. Our love is forbidden.

Barry Allen : [quietly to Kara]  This is just like "West Side Story".

Kara Danvers : I was thinking more "Fantasticks", but...

Millie Foss : Look, the point is, we ain't tellin' nobody nothin'. And neither are you, capisce?

  • Cisco Ramon : [as Barry watches "Singin' in the Rain" for the umpteenth time]  This... again? What, are you gonna spend the rest of your life sittin' around on the couch? Come on.

    Barry Allen : No.

Cisco Ramon : You've been doing this for days. Let's do something. Let's go out.

Barry Allen : No, man, I'm sorry. I'm... I don't feel like going out.

Cisco Ramon : What is it with you and musicals these days, anyhow?

Barry Allen : Everything's better in song.

Cisco Ramon : Listen, dude, I know you've been going through a tough time since Iris broke off the engagement, or I guess...

    Barry Allen : What?

Cisco Ramon : Technically, since you broke off the engagement. Whoever broke off the engagement, it doesn't matter, I just... I don't know, man. I want to help.

Barry Allen : Nothing you can really do.

Cisco Ramon : Really? I guess I'm just gonna have to let Mr. Gene Kelly take over, 'cause Lord knows I can't do anything about that.

  • Barry Allen : What did you do to us?

Music Meister : Oh, nothing much. Just put a little song in your heart.

Barry Allen : Put a little... why did you bring us here?

Music Meister : I-I-I didn't bring you anywhere. We're inside your heads. You created this world. And we got lucky, because it could have been a war movie or a... a space opera. But thanks to your love of musicals, what with the countless times you watched, um... "Wizard of Oz" with your adoptive parents...

Kara Danvers : How did you know that?

Music Meister : [to Barry]  And you, all those rainy nights watching Fred Astaire and Frank Sinatra with Mom. Well, where else would we be?

  • Kara Danvers : Barry?

    Barry Allen : Hey!

Kara Danvers : Barry! It's you! Thank Rao! Oh, wait, it's really you, right?

Barry Allen : Yeah, this is me, yeah.

    Kara Danvers : Good.

  • Kara Danvers : Barry, I don't have my powers.

    Barry Allen : Me neither.

Kara Danvers : [Grady approaches]  Winn! Winn, you're here, too?

Grady : [shaking her off]  Ah! Who's Winn? The name is Grady. I tickle the keys around here.

  • Barry Allen : What's the last thing you remember before you got here?

Kara Danvers : I was at the DEO. They had just brought in an alien prisoner. He got loose, and... it was really weird. He had this, um, red...

    Barry Allen : Pocket handkerchief?

    Kara Danvers : Yes!

Barry Allen : I saw you on my Earth. You were in a coma. Your boyfriend brought you to us.

Kara Danvers : He is my not boyfriend. He... he's just a boy. Who is not my friend. He's my nothing.

  • Iris West : [Kara is unconscious]  So, what happened to her?

J'onn J'onzz : An alien prisoner escaped our custody. He did something to her, put her in some kind of a coma.

Mon-El : And then disappeared. We tracked him here and followed.

Iris West : Okay, but why would he come to this Earth?

J'onn J'onzz : Well, we believe... for you.

    Barry Allen : Me? Why?

Mon-El : We don't know. But his last words before he disappeared were about finding the fastest man alive.

  • Music Meister : Hello, Barry Allen.

The Flash : How do you...

Music Meister : Know your name? I know a lot of things. And I can do a lot of things, too.

    [Kid Flash whooshes in]

Music Meister : Whoa-ho-ho! Wally West made it here, too. This is exciting. It's good of you to join the party, Kid Flash. I'm happy to have you.

Kid Flash : What do you want with Supergirl?

Music Meister : The same thing that I want with both of you. To teach you all a lesson.

[whooshing over and knocking Wally backward]

Music Meister : Is that all you got, Kid Flash? I mean, you look a little scared.

[catching Barry as he speeds forward]

Music Meister : And you're too slow.

[chokeslamming him to the ground and 'whammying' him]

    Music Meister : Nighty-night, Flash.

  • Kara Danvers : Moon...

Barry Allen : What the hell?

    Kara Danvers : ...River/Wider than a mile/I'm crossing...

    Barry Allen : Kara?

    Kara Danvers : ...you in style someday/Oh, dream maker/You heart breaker/Wherever you're going/I'm going your way/Two drifters/Off to see the world/There's such a lot of world/To see/We're after/The same rainbow's end/Waiting 'round the bend/My huckleberry friend.

    [spotting Barry, her eyes widen]

Kara Danvers : Moon River/And me.

  • Barry Allen : [Millie tells her dads about her and Tommy]  She isn't your little girl anymore.

    [seeing their looks]

Barry Allen : Well, she isn't. She's an incredibly brave, strong woman. One look and you can see that. And she wants to be with him. No matter how scared she was to tell you, no matter how dangerous it is to be with him, all that matters is they're together. And when you find a love like that, well... you gotta hold onto it. No matter who's trying to stop you. That's clear to me now.

  • Barry Allen : What do we do now? We got... we got Millie and Tommy to tell their fathers that they're in love.

Kara Danvers : Which, I know we're in a musical and everything, but seeing Mon-El in love with someone else was...

Barry Allen : It was hard to watch. I know. Anyway, I mean, what are we... supposed to do? What do you think this... Music Meister needs us to do now?

  • Digsy Foss : Hello, my friend. It will be a cold day in hell before our daughter marries any son of yours.

Digsy Foss' Husband : Like he said. A cold, cold day.

Cutter Moran : Ha! You took the words right out of my mouth.

Barry Allen : [inside the club with Kara and hearing the gunfire]  Come on.

  • H.R. Wells : Are you from another... uh, Earth... multi-verse... universe, something?

Music Meister : Yeah, you... you wouldn't even understand where I come from.

Barry Allen : [he turns to leave]  Wait, I'm-I'm sorry, that's it? You're just gonna teach somebody else a lesson?

Music Meister : Yeah, that's exactly what I'm gonna do.

    Barry Allen : Oh.

  • Barry Allen : 'Dads'?

Digsy Foss , Digsy Foss' Husband : You got a problem with that?

Barry Allen : No... I love musicals! So...
