Intense, raw, honest and originally crazy
supermaggie29 April 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Original, well-acted, intense, sincere, courageous - a show not to be missed for those who like raw, honest gangster/crime stories and/or social drama. The show does not shy away from addressing grave topics and resolves them in a fresh, just, believable way. It is believable and down-to-Earth, but also playful, creative, and somewhat crazy/artsy (the way they get rid of the body!), it shows what people in dire situations can come up with, it shows inner struggle as well as tenderness. Fortunately there are very few boxing scenes, it's more about personal drama and the threat of gentrification. Even little details and supporting characters are well-conceived (like the side story of Eva and her son and the cute, warm cleaning lady at the brothel). The only tiny thing I did not like is that it is a bit clichéd to make the Yugoslavian guy the/one of the villains as well as the clumsy coincidence of Sami's mother being the other villain. After Add a friend another hit show for Ken Duken, unfortunately cut off after one season. BS is being produced one year after the next and quality is being cut down... I was skeptical at first, but if you have the chance to watch it: give it a shot, it's absolutely worth it.

Kid! One of the best shows

It's intense and conflicting, great acting. The stories are captivating and keeps you invested Ken Duken's character is mesmerising. The entire cast is brilliant. I almost missed out because I didn't want to read the subtitles so attentively but the story is soo great. Stunning!
