Dutch directors Dick Maas, Tim Oliehoek, Eddy Terstall, Arne Toonen and Martin Koolhoven all appear as themselves in this movie.
The scenes in which Ron Goossens (Tim Haars) falls of a building were filmed on top of a primary school in Amsterdam in summer (while he was dressed as "Zwarte Piet").
Ron Goossens (Tim Haars) is doing a stunt for the movie 'New Kids Part III', where he plays the stunt version of the character Rikkert, played by Wesley van Gaalen in New Kids on the Block (2007), New Kids Turbo (2010) and New Kids Nitro (2011). A case of extremely self-referential humor, since Haars played the character Gerrie in these three projects, and all of them (including Ron Goossens, Low Budget Stuntman (2017)) were directed by Steffen Haars and Flip Van der Kuil, who appear as themselves as the directors of 'New Kids III'.
The movies that Ron works on are all based on Dutch national traumas from recent history. There is a movie called 'Straight Outta Alpha', a title-spoof of Straight Outta Compton (2015) about a deranged gunman causing a killing spree in a mall in Alphen aan de Rijn in 2011; 'De Naald' is about the failed assault on the Royal Family in Apeldoorn on Queen's Day (2009) in Apeldoorn; 'De Damschreeuwer' deals with a man causing a huge commotion during the 2010 Memorial Day ceremony; an unnamed movie about the New Years' Eve fire in a bar in Volendam (2001). 'Bokito's Revenge' about the gorilla Bokito who escaped captivity in the Rotterdam Zoo, and wounded a visitor (2007); 'Twelve Years a Piet' (a spoof of 12 Years a Slave (2013)) refers to heated discussions about 'Zwarte Piet' which many people consider offensive due to use of blackface; and 'Robert M.', about the leader of a Dutch network of child abusers that was discovered in 2010.
With the exception of Wesley van Gaalen, all main actors from the original New Kids on the Block (2007) series and spin-off movies appear in the film: Tim Haars plays Ron, Steffen Haars and Flip Van der Kuil play themselves, and Huub Smit plays one of patrons in Ron's bar. Like in Bro's Before Ho's (2013), van Gaalen is the only one not to make any appearance in this film, although Ron briefly plays van Gaalen's character Rikkert in the movie-within-the-movie 'New Kids III'.
