After working together on the 2021 version of Wrong Turn, director Mike P. Nelson and screenwriter Alan B. McElroy are re-teaming for the Brazil-set creature feature Titan – and Deadline reports that Kiana Madeira of the Fear Street trilogy and Jessica Rothe of the Happy Death Day movies are set to star in the film!
The story Titan is set against the backdrop of Brazil’s Curuçá River in the present day. When a team of young doctors embark on a local humanitarian mission through the Amazon rainforest, it soon becomes clear that not everyone – or everything – is happy to see them. Their arrival draws the attention of an ancient predator, the “Boiúna”. This ancient killer, dominant on land and water, clashes to reclaim the jungle. The ensuing fight for survival blurs the roles of hunter, prey, and hero.
The film is coming our way from the Resident Evil franchise makers at Constantin Film and Jb Pictures.

Director Mike P. Nelson is no stranger to infusing horror with political bite, having previously helmed 2021’s Wrong Turn and 2018’s The Domestics. For V/H/S/85, Nelson gets ambitious in narrative structure and tone with the segment “No Wake.”
V/H/S/85 is set to arrive exclusively on Shudder on October 6, 2023.
Joining the V/H/S team was an easy choice for Nelson when it became clear that the intent was to steer clear of the neon ’80s aesthetic.
“I remember speaking with [producer] Josh Goldbloom and Josh saying, ‘Yeah, so we’re doing ’85, and we’re trying not to do the typical kind of clean, neon thing.'” Nelson recalls. “And I was like, ‘Oh, for the love of God, thank you. Okay, good. I got something. I got something. This is going to be a lot of fun.’ That was such a breath of fresh air.”

"Where did you get those tapes?!" Shudder + Bloody Disgusting have revealed the main official trailer for V/H/S/85, the next film in this found footage anthology series. It's now the fifth one - V/H/S/99 debuted just last year (also on Shudder now). As expected, V/H/S/85 (#5) is premiering at Fantastic Fest in TX this week before streaming in October. "Get ready for a found footage compilation of disembowelment, clubbing, and dismemberment, just to name a few of the grisly deaths. It’s Reaganomics and imperial disillusionment in the way that only the V/H/S movies can do them — with the fake blood hose nozzle cranked up to the soak setting." Featuring new segments made by the horror filmmakers: Mike P. Nelson, Natasha Kermani, Gigi Saul Guerrero, Scott Derrickson, David Bruckner. The Tron-themed one looks bonkers. This whole thing looks insane! Just as expected - more VHS madness. // Continue Reading ›...

Lance Reddick, a veteran character actor best known for key supporting roles in films like “John Wick” and “One Night in Miami” and TV series like “Fringe” and “The Wire,” has died at the age of 60.
The actor was found in his Studio City home Friday morning at around 9:30 a.m., according to media reports. The cause of death has, at this time, not been revealed, though it is alleged to be natural. His rep at Portrait PR confirmed the news to TheWrap.
The actor was currently promoting his fourth appearance as Charon, the loyal and beloved concierge at the Continental in “John Wick: Chapter 4” following the first “John Wick” in 2014 and the second and third installments in 2017 and 2019. That was just one high-profile property on which he put his unique stamp, offering a mix of subtle menace and above-it-all bemusement to all five seasons of “Fringe” and the later seasons of “Lost.

Truly shocking news today, as it’s being reported that actor Lance Reddick, a staple of the John Wick franchise from the beginning, has passed away at just 60 years old.
TMZ reports, “Law enforcement sources tell TMZ … Lance’s body was discovered at his Studio City home Friday morning around 9:30 Am. His cause of death is currently unclear, but our law enforcement sources say it appears to be natural.”
In addition to the John Wick movies, which saw him play the role of Charon – the fourth film will be released this year – Lance Reddick also recently appeared in Netflix’s short-lived “Resident Evil” television series, stealing the entire show as iconic character Albert Wesker. The Wrong Turn movies have been scaring audiences since 2003 with stories about families of deformed cannibals who reside deep in the wilderness of West Virginia and take advantage of those who make the titular ‘wrong turn’ into their territory. Throughout the years, we received five straight-to-dvd sequels via Dead End, Left for Dead, Bloody Beginnings, Bloodlines and Last Resort. Most of them have been pretty terrible, though, and none have lived up to the original.
However, next year may change that as Wrong Turn, a reboot/reimagining from The Domestics director Mike P. Nelson, will arrive and so far, it looks pretty promising. The recent trailer teased a relevant horror pic about a divided America, with a group of metropolitan liberals being taken captive, tortured and killed by the rural cannibals. It appears to be playing on the big political divide in the US at the moment and seems like...

The Wrong Turn movies have been scaring the crap out of hikers since 2003. The horror franchise is about families of deformed cannibals who live deep in the wilderness of West Virginia and prey on those who take the titular ‘wrong turn’ into their territory. Since the first film, we’ve seen five straight-to-dvd sequels in the form of Dead End, Left for Dead, Bloody Beginnings, Bloodlines and Last Resort. This entertaining post-apocalyptic thriller marks an auspicious feature debut for sound designer-turned-writer-director Mike P. Nelson. Essentially it’s The Road meets The Warriors, with a bit of Mad Max: The Road Warrior thrown in for good measure.
In a scene-setting prologue, we learn of an apocalyptic event, in which jet planes dumped black poison gas on America, killing half the population. The survivors quickly segregated into various cult-like groups or tribes, with names like the Sheets, the Cherries, the Plowboys, the Nailers and the Gamblers. Those who remain unaffiliated to a group are known as The Domestics, and they have to remain constantly vigilant against gang attacks. Two such Domestics are Mark and Nina West, a couple on the brink of divorce who become concerned about Nina’s family in Milwaukee,...

Last week, we heard news that Constantin Film are at work on a new entry in the Wrong Turn horror series, and now Deadline has come through with a few fresh details.
Apparently, the project is going to be a remake of the 2003 original, and back on script duties will be the first film’s scribe, Alan B. McElroy. What’s more, it’s suggested that this upcoming release will contain a fair bit more social commentary than we’re used to seeing in this surprisingly sustainable franchise, with an early synopsis reported to read as follows:

A Wrong Turn reboot movie is in the works. – Whether or not moviegoers were clamoring for such a thing remains to be seen.
Regardless, Deadline reports that the Fox-distributed Wrong Turn slasher series is coming back to the forefront, thanks to original company Constantin Films, which has tapped franchise creator Alan B. McElroy to write a script that updates his original cannibal-killers-in-the-woods concept. This reinvented Wrong Turn movie will see Mike P. Nelson occupy the director’s chair.

“Alan’s re -interpretation of his own work and Mike’s vision are a frightening reflection of our world today: one person’s American dream is another’s worst nightmare.”

The Wrong Turn franchise has never been the most respected of horror properties, but it has proved surprisingly sustainable, spawning a total of six entries between 2003 and 2014. Now, a report from Bloody Disgusting says that the carnage will continue with another installment that may or may not be a remake
It seems that Constantin Film – the studio behind the Resident Evil movies – is hoping to add another chapter to this series about an inbred family of cannibalistic mountain men from West Virginia. They’ve even brought in Mike P. Nelson, director of the acclaimed new post-apocalyptic thriller The Domestics, to helm the film.
In a rather familiar setup, the movie’s said to feature a group of friends who embark on a hiking trip through the Appalachian Trail. It’s here that they cross paths with “The Foundation,” a community who’ve been living in the mountains since before the Civil War.

Stars: Kate Bosworth, Tyler Hoechlin, David Dastmalchian, Sonoya Mizuno, Laura Cayouette, Lance Reddick | Written and Directed by Mike P. Nelson

Holdovers likely to dominate UK box office this weekend.
It’s a soft-looking set of releases in the UK this weekend, which will mean holdover studio fare such as Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again (Universal), Ant-Man And The Wasp (Disney) and Mission: Impossible – Fallout (Paramount) will be looking to make use of the forecast break from the UK’s summer heatwave.
The Mamma Mia! sequel stayed top of the chart for the third straight week last weekend, moving to a mighty £39.3m, while Marvel’s Ant-Man sequel disappointed with a soft opening of £5m (for a superhero title).

Standing on the set of Mike P. Nelson‘s directorial debut, The Domestics, it looks like the world has visibly turned rotten. A flipped plow truck, the fake blood strewn about, and the beefed-up muscle cars have turned a suburban neighborhood not too far outside of New Orleans, Louisiana, into a battleground between the survivors of a […]

Lance Reddick is well known for his more serious roles, but he has the opportunity to showcase his wide range as the smiling, outgoing Nathan Wood in The Domestics. The film tells the story of the only survivors of an attempt by the government to wipe out humanity. The people who haven’t chosen to join […]

Chicago – The horror of a post apocalyptic world is ripe for exploration, and the new film “The Domestics” is the latest to take us down that road. Tyler Hoechlin and Kate Bosworth portray a married couple seeking her parents, as they road trip through what is left of Wisconsin after a societal collapse, and a series of murderous gangs have marked their territory. One of the gang leaders is Dean The Nailer, a foreboding presence who is portrayed with a ferocious intensity and precise eeriness by actor Lee Perkins.
