- TriviaThis episode introduces Frankie Kane, another love interest of Wally West in the Flash comic books.
- GoofsWhen Magenta tries to kill Julian (Tom Felton's character), Barry saves him by grabbing him and pulling him out of the way. This is shown in slow motion and Julian is seen moving his feet and stepping along the floor with Barry. Julian is not a speedster, so his brain would barely be able to register what was happening in that split second (because of how fast Barry runs), let alone him being able to know that he needs to move his feet, and on top of that there is no way he would be able to move his legs that fast.
- Quotes
Dr. Harry Wells: Who's Alchemy?
Cisco Ramon: Well, Doctor Alchemy is a magic man in a cloak who can somehow restore the powers that people had in Flashpoint.
Jesse Wells: Okay, what's Flashpoint?
Caitlin Snow: That's what we're calling the alternate timeline that Barry created when he went back in time and saved his mom.
Dr. Harry Wells: Oh. So Magenta is another side-effect from your time trip. Genius. Not.
Barry Allen: I don't need to be reminded. Thank you.

This week saw the first appearance of Magenta, another villain whose powers derive from Alchemy. I know people have issue with Alchemy's look, but I like everything he's doing so far. I also don't need an explanation about his motives or bigger plans as of yet, I'm just enjoying what he's doing. Magenta herself was a good enough one-off villain for this week, and Joey King provided an entirely different vibe than what the show has brought in the past.
King has been acting for nearly a decade now and has shown a ton of growth from her days on Suite Life or even in Ramona and Beezus, which is a guilty pleasure. So it was nice to see her take on a comic-book character, putting aside her very brief role as Young Talia in The Dark Knight Rises. I liked that her actions as Magenta were completely separate from what she believed was right as Frankie. Her powers obviously felt like a Magneto rip-off, but they served their purpose in the story and at least gave the show a different villain for Flash to defeat.
Of course, Flash wasn't alone this time as he had some useful help from Jesse Quick as the newly touted speedster in the show. I was so glad to hear that Jesse and Harry were going to be returning, even if it isn't for long. The season didn't necessarily need them, but the more the merrier when it comes to the people at S.T.A.R Labs. The conflict between Jesse and Harry was handled well too, although it did feel like a season 2 rehash. But I'm just glad it seems it was over and done in one episode.
Another speedster conflict dealt with Wally's desire to have superpowers, particularly speed, due to his jealousy of Jesse. This felt completely forced and merely done because they needed to give Wally something to do. If I'm being honest, I've never really cared about the Wally character, and now having Jesse suit up as a speedster, I don't ever care to see Wally suit up as 'Kid Flash' (seriously, worst name ever). Having him stand in front of an oncoming car to "jumpstart" his speedster process was one of the most ridiculous things this show has ever done. Everything to do with Wally tonight was pretty dull TV. But please Barry, just tell Wally he was a speedster in the other timeline.
A few other noteworthy pleasantries included: Harry excessively using the word "not" at the end of his sarcastic comments. That was pure gold. Tom Felton once again bringing a fresh vibe to the show, it's been unlike anything the show has had in the past and I love it. And lastly, I loved Harry calling Barry out for his Flashpoint mistakes. It's just about dang time Tom Cavanagh returns, and I hope he sticks around for quite some time.
