Why is understanding history an important part of formulating the closure of an armed conflict? After an endlessly violent and socially destructive armed conflict, the Colombian government and the FARC-EP guerrillas are working to sign a peace agreement that will transform Colombian society and politics forever, and thus ensure a successful post-conflict and a lasting peace. As part of the general agreement, there is a commission titled: "Comisión para el esclarecimiento de la verdad, la convivencia y la no-repetición" (Commission for the clarification of the truth, coexistence and non-repetition), which aims to rewrite the last 50 years of Colombian history. This eponymous documentary will speculate on the implications of history as a powerful tool for nation building.
