Really enjoyed this one.
How lovely to see this glorious show get a well deserved Christmas Special. I am so pleased that it's been popular and successful, it's been great viewing since day one.
I'll start with a rant, why was this not on at a more prime time viewing slot, Christmas Day BBC1 offered us Eastenders, when will they realise that not everyone is a Soap lover, Father Brown would have been much more appealing!
Mark Williams, as always very much on point as the lead, adding a touch of humour as only he can. Sorcha Cusack and Nancy Carroll as brilliant as ever in support. Jack Deam fun as always as the exasperated Inspector Mallory.
An interesting plot, with nicely drawn characters, well produced, nice, easy viewing, let's hope more Christmas specials will follow, 8/10

Christmas in Kembleford
Wonderful story!!
I was very displeased with Sid's absence though! He was my favorite character! I hope he is brought back for future episodes!

Super for Christmas
One of the cosiest episodes. Need more Alex Price (Sid Carter) though. Hope this funny character is still going to be regularly featured.
The Star of Jacob
Father Brown gets a festive special. The Bishop sends down a troubleshooter to ensure the Christmas nativity is traditional and demands lots of snow as well as a proper choir in light of the fact that the Earl of Frome and his family and servants will be attending mass. He is the leading Catholic aristocrat in England.
Mrs McCarthy meanwhile finds a tramp half frozen to death and Father Brown takes him in. He comes useful in finding a donkey for the nativity and he can also carry a note.
However the Earl of Frome's infant son goes missing. Inspector Mallory expects a ransom demand but the baby certainly turns up safe. Father Brown has suspicions that someone else suffered a serious loss some time in the past.
This was a nice festive special with a Christmassy feeling and a good effective mystery, maybe a little simple to figure out.
