A history of the use of trains in warfare.
A documentary series that seemed interesting but quickly failed to deliver. At eight episodes its too long and dry to be constantly engaging. Much of the content is filler, having a tangential bearing on the subject but not really necessary.
It's only useful if you have no knowledge of the events of the particular war and thus need a beginner's introduction to it, which, as a target audience, doesn't make sense. If you're trying to learn the basics of WW2, say, you don't watch a series on trains. The target audience is clearly people who already have a decent knowledge of the history of warfare and want to learn more about a particular aspect.
Less episodes and a focus on just the trains aspect would have made this more interesting.
Moreover, the series isn't even that accurate! For example, in the American Civil War episode Ulysses S Grant is called "Ulysses T Grant"! How could anyone with a knowledge of history get that wrong!
Very sloppy and shoddy. I'm surprised someone of the stature of Mark Felton would have anything to do with this.
