One scene shows C.J. watching an apocalyptic video transmission about 500 years in the future (according to the date he wrote on the wall when he woke up that day). Aside from the amazing coincidence that one of the every-twenty-years days he was awake was the same day as the end of the world (roughly a one in 7100 chance), it seems equally unlikely that television tuning systems built in 2014 would still be able to receive transmissions of video technologies that have had five centuries to evolve. Even if the video feed was by cable or internet, the 26th century transmission protocols surely would have changed too much for 21st century tuners to decode.
