Rob Delaney (Catastrophe), David Rasche (Succession) and Esco Jouléy (State of the Union) have been cast in recurring roles in FX’s limited series Dying for Sex, starring Michelle Williams and Jenny Slate. Shawn Levy, the director of the long-awaited introduction of Fox’s mutants into the MCU, addressed rumors that music artist Taylor Swift would be making a cameo as Dazzler. It’s not as off the walls as it sounds since Swift did have a role in that terrible Cats movie. This would be a much more welcome guest appearance by far.
While speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Levy responded to the Taylor Swift-related inquiry with a non-answer, sadly:
“I can’t even believe that you would dare ask me a question that you know I can’t answer. You know I can’t answer. All of America knows I can’t answer that. I will say, as I said earlier here at CinemaCon, the proliferation of rumors about who is and isn’t in this movie is fabulous. Because no one will ever know the truth until July 26th.”

In March 2019, Marvel Studios regained the film rights to X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Deadpool after Disney’s acquisition of Fox for $71.3 billion.
These characters are planned to be integrated into the MCU. In October 2020, the ‘X-Men’ and ‘Fantastic Four’ films were rebranded as “Marvel Legacy films” on Disney+. Notably, Patrick Stewart already reprised his role as an alternate Professor X in ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ and Kelsey Grammer returned as Beast in ‘The Marvels’. ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ a sequel to ‘Deadpool 2,’ will bring Deadpool and Wolverine, portrayed by Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, respectively, into the MCU continuity.
MCU already has at least six mutants that we know of starting with Kamala Khan, who was also made mutant in the comics retconning her Inhuman origins, and with the most recent inclusion of Beast in the ‘The Marvels’ post-credit scenes. There’s also the fact that ‘X-Men ’97’ is widely popular,...

‘Deadpool’ franchise used to belong to Fox, just like most mutant-related properties. Dozens of movies existed in their separate universe, long before MCU was even a thing, and they were successful.
The first two Deadpool movies were massive hits, so as soon as Disney merged with Fox we knew that it was only a matter of time before Deadpool would make a jump to the MCU, and Marvel Studios would reboot the live-action X-Men movie, bringing some of the most popular characters from the comics into the fold.
Following CinemaCon Marvel Studios presentation, the first 9 minutes of the upcoming movie was shown to the attendees, and the “reviews” were glowing. Following the event Shawn Levy talked to Collider and explained ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ position within the franchise overall, and no, the upcoming movie is not a sequel to ‘Deadpool 2’ despite looking like it.

The ‘Deadpool’ franchise was under Fox, along with many other mutant-related properties. They had their own successful universe before the MCU even existed.
The first two Deadpool movies were huge successes. When Disney merged with Fox, it was expected that Deadpool would join the MCU eventually. Marvel Studios would likely reboot the live-action X-Men movies, bringing popular comic characters into the mix.
After Marvel Studios’ presentation at CinemaCon, they screened the first 9 minutes of the upcoming movie to attendees, and the initial feedback was very positive. After the event, Shawn Levy spoke to Collider about the role of ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ within the franchise. He clarified that the upcoming movie isn’t a sequel to ‘Deadpool 2,’ despite similarities in appearance.
“Well, the truth is, I think your answer is in the question, which is if you make the kinds of movies I make, you are listening to the audience.

This article contains spoilers for X-Men ’97 Episode 5.
X-Men ’97 delivered one of its most devastating episodes with Episode 5, which saw the brutal deaths of multiple mutants in the nation of Genosha, while also depicting the tragic fates of Magneto and Gambit. With the estimated number of mutants that were killed still under wraps, the event, as put forth by the writer of the show, was meant to emulate real-world tragedies like 9/11 and the Tulsa Massacre.
X-Men ’97 episode 5
However, as the audiences reel from the tragedies of this episode, Marvel has also put forward the means for the attack on Genosha to be undone. Just before the attack began, we saw Cable rushing to find Madelyne Pryor, and trying to save the mutants. This could mean that the time-traveling mutant is looking to undo the events of Episode 5, which could prompt him to go back in time to prevent...

Plot: After being gravely injured, a stuntman named Colt Seavers (Ryan Gosling) tries to win back his ex, a movie director named Jody Moreno (Emily Blunt), by finding the star of her mega-budget action movie, who’s gone missing after falling in with a dangerous crowd.
Review: The Fall Guy is director David Leitch’s love letter to the stunt profession. For those not in the know, Leitch, before becoming a director known for blockbusters like Bullet Train and Deadpool 2, was a stuntman, having worked on a slew of action classics. With this, he pays homage to an industry that was best described recently by Nicolas Cage, who said in an interview, “Every movie star needs to be a stunt man, every stunt man needs to be a movie star.”

Deadpool & Wolverine Footage Reaction: Wade Wilson Brings R-Rated Raunch To The MCU [CinemaCon 2024]
Deadpool, the foul-mouthed pansexual super-anti-hero played by perpetual smart-aleck Ryan Reynolds, is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). That alone feels like pretty mind-blowing stuff, but he's also bringing back Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, who appeared to have hung up his adamantium claws after "Logan" in 2017. In the upcoming "Deadpool & Wolverine," hitting theaters on July 26, 2024, the Merc with the Mouth will join the MCU courtesy of some timeline-bending shenanigans ala the Disney+ series "Loki," and the first teaser trailer hints at just how that all happens. Unfortunately, we don't get to see much of Morena Baccarin's Vanessa or Brianna Hildebrand's Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and we have no idea how Jennifer Garner's Elektra Natchios from 2003's "Daredevil" factors into things, but thankfully now we've got a bit more information on the McU's first R-rated movie.

“He’s not alone anymore.” Against seemingly all odds, given its R-rating, adult nature, and disconnection from traditional cinema superheroics, Warner Bros. “Joker” movie earned over $1 billion at the box office in 2019, the sixth highest-grossing movie of the year, even outgrossing “Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker” worldwide.

When Tye Sheridan was just 11 years old, something crazy happened: Terrence Malick came looking for him.
Specifically, the beloved American auteur wanted to cast a trio of young brothers for his “The Tree of Life,” co-starring Brad Pitt and Jessica Chastain. The vast majority of kids Malick and his team saw were — like Texas native Sheridan — totally green to this acting thing.
Sixteen years later, Sheridan isn’t green anymore. The actor is only continuing to build out his resume, adding producing into the mix with his most recent feature film, Jean-Stéphane Sauvaire’s “Asphalt City,” which debuted at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival under the title “Black Flies.”
Still, ask Sheridan about where his initial love of moviemaking came from, and it’s like he’s right back on Malick’s set. “I was randomly cast in the film. They recruited 10,000 kids in the state of Texas to come and audition.

The Disney Plus animated series X-Men ‘97 has been receiving positive responses since its release. The revival of the classic show X-Men: The Animated Series was in the headlines earlier this month for parting ways with showrunner Beau DeMayo. The show’s premiere on March 20 reportedly garnered over 4 million views, making it the second most-viewed animated series on the platform.
The third episode of the series is reportedly adapted from the comic Inferno and follows Jean Grey’s clone. Introduced at the end of episode two, the clone is transformed into the Goblin Queen by Mister Sinister and then assumes the identity of Madelyn Pryor. The episode also sees Nathan Summers, the son of Cyclops and Jean Grey make an appearance.

Kapicic first played the Russian mutant Colossus in 2016’s boundary-pushing Deadpool, and expanded the role two years later with Deadpool 2. A glimpse of his work was seen in Deadpool & Wolverine‘s Super Bowl trailer, which Disney has touted as the most viewed trailer of all time.
He recently starred in The Last Voyage of Demeter, the Universal and Amblin period take on Dracula. He played the crewman Olgaren for horror maestro André Øvredal in the film, which starred Corey Hawkins.

McKenna Grace reprises her lead role as Phoebe in “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire,” which led the weekend box office with $45 million. At 17 she is not yet a household name, but she laid some groundwork early: At age six she had a supporting role on the Disney Channel sitcom “Crash & Bernstein.” Later she received an Emmy nomination for her work in “The Handmaid’s Tale,” and portrayed the younger selves for the leads in movies like “I, Tonya” and “Captain Marvel.”
Her “Ghostbusters” co-star is Finn Wolfhard, who made his debut at 13 in CW’s “Supernatural” before starring in “Stranger Things” and “It.” Zendaya, star of “Dune: Part Two,” got her start as a Disney Channel regular. Her co-star, Oscar-nominated Austin Butler, cut his teeth at Nickelodeon.

Of all the superheroes in the X-Men guild, Gambit is inevitably one of the most popular and beloved ones. Yet, he is also the one who hasn’t been able to earn himself more than one appearance in a live-action project of the mutants. Even when Channing Tatum was reportedly cast to star as Gambit in his very own solo movie, the film was later revealed to be canceled and swept under the rug.
Gambit in Marvel Comics
This is why fans are desperate to see him on the big screen once again. Not only in his animated form, like in the recently released series X-Men ’97, but also in a live-action project with Tatum embodying him. While this dream seemed far-fetched as of late, it seems it just might come true through Deadpool 3, as can be derived from Tatum’s recent message for Hugh Jackman.
Warning: Contains X-Men ’97 Spoilers Ahead!

Ryan Reynolds started the Deadpool franchise in 2016, re-introducing the Merc with the Mouth to the wider audience. After the success of the first movie, Deadpool 2 was released in 2018, with new characters joining the fray – including a very important mutant – Cable, played by Josh Brolin. But Cable’s real identity – his origin – was never clearly defined in the movie.
Josh Brolin as Cable in Deadpool 2
Cable aka Nathan Summers is actually the son of Scott Summers and Jean Grey in the Marvel Comics. Or at least he shares DNA with these two mutants. He gets infected by a techno-organic virus, becaue of which, his parents send him to the future to be cured. It is much later, in Cable Vol. 1 #6, that his real identity finally came to light.
The Origin of Cable’s Identity in the Marvel Comics
Cyclops and Jean Grey are two of the biggest names among the X-Men.

Oscar nominees Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt are the Barbenheimer comedy duo we didn’t know we’ve been waiting for in The Fall Guy. Trailer number two shows off more of the chemistry between Gosling and Blunt while also delivering more action, more humor, and enough shirtless Gosling scenes to keep audiences satiated until the film’s theatrical release on May 3, 2024.
Joining Gosling and Blunt in the action comedy are Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso), Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Bullet Train), Winston Duke (Black Panther franchise), and Academy Award nominee Stephanie Hsu (Everything Everywhere All at Once).
Drew Pearce (Hobbs & Shaw) wrote the screenplay, stuntman David Leitch directed, with Leitch, Gosling, Kelly McCormick, and Guymon Casady produced. Executive producers include Pearce, Geoff Shaevitz, and the creator of the original Fall Guy television series, Glen A. Larson.

Buckle up because Universal Pictures has released a brand new trailer for "The Fall Guy." With a pair of huge stars in Ryan Gosling ("Barbie") and Emily Blunt ("Oppenheimer) at its center — both of whom are coming off of Oscars nominations for their work on two of 2023's biggest movies — this flick has summer blockbuster written all over it. A reboot of largely forgotten IP, a director who knows his way around action, and a couple of very charming stars? It's all here. Check out the trailer for yourself above.
Lots of action and lots of comedy at play here. David Leitch, whose previous credits include "Bullet Train" and "Deadpool 2," seems to be very much at home with the material, especially since he was a stuntman before becoming an A-list director. It looks, in a word, fun. That's because, for my money, it is a great deal of fun.

In March 2019, Marvel Studios regained the film rights to X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Deadpool after Disney acquired Fox for $71.3 billion. These characters are set to join the MCU. In October 2020, the ‘X-Men’ and ‘Fantastic Four’ films were renamed “Marvel Legacy films” on Disney+. Notably, Patrick Stewart reprised his role as an alternate Professor X in ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,’ and Kelsey Grammer returned as Beast in ‘The Marvels.’ ‘Deadpool & Wolverine,’ a sequel to ‘Deadpool 2,’ will introduce Deadpool and Wolverine, played by Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, respectively, into the MCU continuity.
A new X-Men film, aiming to reboot the franchise within the MCU, began development in September 2023. Rumors of its development surfaced as early as 2021, with Kevin Feige involved. However, updates on the project have been scarce. According to Daniel Richtman, the MCU plans to incorporate Mister Sinister, one of the most popular X-Men villains, into the reboot.

Tim Miller's 2016 film "Deadpool" was a shot in the arm for the superhero genre. In 2016, superheroes were still standing astride the Earth like a mighty Colossus, and armies of loyal fans were still attending Avengers movies in droves, eagerly taking notes and running off to record podcasts about what might be next in line for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The world took these lightweight power fantasies very, very seriously, and superheroes dominated the conversation unlike any genre before. "Deadpool" was a slapstick spoof of superhero movies, deliberately constructed to take the piss out of the genre. The title character, played by Ryan Reynolds, often talked to the audience directly, happily pointing out the flaws and cliches of the very story he was living through.
Deadpool was an established X-Men supporting player, so the deconstruction was coming from inside the house. "Deadpool" ultimately didn't dismantle the superhero genre's popularity --...

Tim Miller's 2016 film "Deadpool" was a shot in the arm for the then-overwhelmingly popular superhero genre. Most of the dominant super-movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe were deathly earnest, presenting a vast interconnected mythology of characters that required strenuous note-taking and endless online chatter merely to keep clear. Every plot point was important, and the MCU rarely did anything truly daring, like kill off a beloved character, or question the moral absolutes of a comic book universe (it never became more complex than "hero vs. villain" stories). "Deadpool," meanwhile, was not in the MCU, broke the fourth wall, addressed its own cliched plotting, and overwhelmed audiences with a barrage of improvised dirty jokes that stood far apart from the safe, PG-13 realm the genre typically inhabited. (You weren't about to see Captain America involved in a pegging scene.)
"Deadpool" was amazingly successful, making over $780 million worldwide on a budget of only $58 million,...

For a long while now, Marvel Comics has had a boogeyman that they call Deadpool, the motormouth mercenary that has the ultimate power to break the fourth wall and do whatever he wants. And when it comes down to it, he is capable of more than just playing pranks and engaging in silly banter with the superheroes and villains from the pages of Marvel Comics.

The upcoming The Fall Guy, in theaters on May 3rd, and a salute to stunt people, had it’s premiere at SXSW earlier this week.

The SXSW premiere of “The Fall Guy” came with some of its own stunts. A pair of motorcycles sped through the crowds milling outside the Paramount Theater before Blunt and Gosling arrived in the back of a pick-up. Blunt and Gosling weren’t the only ones fresh from the Academy Awards. Leitch and his wife, Kelly McCormick, (a producer on “The Fall Guy”) produced a clip reel of stunts for the telecast. Though stunt performance isn’t an Oscar category (a sore point that comes up in “The Fall Guy”), Leitch thinks it will happen soon.

Over the last ten years, former stuntman David Leitch has directed such films as Atomic Blonde, Deadpool 2, Hobbs & Shaw, Bullet Train, and the upcoming The Fall Guy. While he keeps busy directing action films, he also produces them, with two Leitch productions being Nobody and Violent Night, both of which were released by Universal Pictures. The Jurassic World trilogy starring Chris Pratt continued where Spielberg’s original Jurassic Park trilogy left off and expanded the universe of Michael Crichton’s original novel. Now, while Dominion was supposed to be the last movie in the series, but it was soon confirmed that a seventh film was in the works and as of today, we have some interesting casting rumors regarding the movie.
Back in January 2024, it was reported that a seventh movie was in the works, with the studio looking to do a soft reboot of the franchise; the film probably won’t erase the events of the two previous trilogies, but a fresh start is what the producers are looking for, which is why Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Chris Pratt, and Bryce Dallas Howard are not expected to reprise their roles.

It's been several days now since this year's Oscars ceremony, and yet I'm still scratching my head as to why the Academy had Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt present a montage honoring stunts and stunt performers without mentioning why they had selected these two specific actors to do so. Then there's the bitter irony of the Academy celebrating stunt performers while stubbornly refusing to give them an Oscar of their own, but that's a whole other rabbit hole.
While it's true the pair starred in dual halves of Barbenheimer last year, they've also got a new film coming out in "The Fall Guy." Loosely adapted from Glen A. Larson's '80s action-adventure TV series of the same name, the movie casts Gosling as a stuntman who's rapidly aging out of his occupation from years of risking permanent bodily harm, only to find himself unraveling a mystery on the set...

After winning hearts with his performance as Ken in last year’s Barbie, Ryan Gosling will be seen in the upcoming action comedy The Fall Guy. Based on the TV series of the same name, the film is directed by David Leitch, who previously helmed Bullet Train and Deadpool 2. The film also stars Emily Blunt, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Winston Duke.
Gosling plays the role of an aging stunt performer in the film. It reportedly has multiple action sequences that have pushed the limit in terms of practical stunts performed. Gosling was reportedly shocked by one of the sequences and expressed his regret about the stunt community not getting their due recognition in Hollywood.

While it’s hard to top Tom Cruise in the stunt department, his Interview with the Vampire costar isn’t too far behind in terms of respect in the stunt community. Even though most don’t associate Oscar-winner Brad Pitt with death-defying stunts, the actor bears huge respect for stunt performers and even helped his Flight Club stunt double to rise the ranks.
Before becoming a prominent action filmmaker, David Leitch, notable for his work on The Fall Guy, Deadpool 2, and Hobbs & Shaw, worked as a double for Pitt during the ’90s. And reflecting on the change of attitude of Hollywood stars for the stunt community over the years, the director expressed his gratitude to the Bullet Train Star.
