Deadpool's weakness for kittens makes the character more relatable and likable, providing heartwarming and humorous storylines. Ryan Reynolds embraces this weakness in real life, reinforcing Deadpool's sense of humor and love for felines. Deadpool 2 pays homage to Taylor Swift's cats, showing how this weakness is a key element of the character's persona.
After dropping a crowd-pleasing 9-minute teaser clip from Deadpool & Wolverine at CinemaCon 2024, enthusiasm for the R-rated Marvel movie has never been higher. While Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman play their superhero characters incredibly well by themselves, the comedic chemistry the two have off-screen is bound to inject the brio and bravado that the MCU needs to get back on track following a disappointing 2023. Of course, a neverending source of comedy for Deadpool can be found among his many strange soft spots and weaknesses.

Shawn Levy, the director of the long-awaited introduction of Fox’s mutants into the MCU, addressed rumors that music artist Taylor Swift would be making a cameo as Dazzler. It’s not as off the walls as it sounds since Swift did have a role in that terrible Cats movie. This would be a much more welcome guest appearance by far.
While speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Levy responded to the Taylor Swift-related inquiry with a non-answer, sadly:
“I can’t even believe that you would dare ask me a question that you know I can’t answer. You know I can’t answer. All of America knows I can’t answer that. I will say, as I said earlier here at CinemaCon, the proliferation of rumors about who is and isn’t in this movie is fabulous. Because no one will ever know the truth until July 26th.”

In March 2019, Marvel Studios regained the film rights to X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Deadpool after Disney’s acquisition of Fox for $71.3 billion.
These characters are planned to be integrated into the MCU. In October 2020, the ‘X-Men’ and ‘Fantastic Four’ films were rebranded as “Marvel Legacy films” on Disney+. Notably, Patrick Stewart already reprised his role as an alternate Professor X in ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ and Kelsey Grammer returned as Beast in ‘The Marvels’. ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ a sequel to ‘Deadpool 2,’ will bring Deadpool and Wolverine, portrayed by Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, respectively, into the MCU continuity.
MCU already has at least six mutants that we know of starting with Kamala Khan, who was also made mutant in the comics retconning her Inhuman origins, and with the most recent inclusion of Beast in the ‘The Marvels’ post-credit scenes. There’s also the fact that ‘X-Men ’97’ is widely popular,...

Cable's origin in the comics differs from his big-screen debut, with complex relationships and a clone mother. The techno-organic virus, a result of Apocalypse's plan, led to Cable's complicated history and powers. Cable's time-travel adventures, including defeating the Avengers and reconciling with Cyclops, showcase his complex character.
Movie fans got to know Cable when he made his big-screen debut in Deadpool 2. His origin was pretty much out of the comics, with Cable living in a future that was destroyed, so he returned to the present-day to keep it from happening again. However, who he was targeting and why was completely different from the Cable in Marvel Comics.
Cable in Marvel Comics also returned from the future, but he ended up taking over the leadership of the New Mutants and had a very conflicted relationship with his dad, who happened to be the X-Men founding member Cyclops. There were several other changes,...

Gazing upon Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman's Deadpool & Wolverine super suits felt surreal to Shawn Levy.
Following an early look at the Merc with a Mouth's Marvel Studios debut at CinemaCon, Levy spoke with Entertainment Weekly about reuniting Reynolds with Jackman on the big screen, even outfitting Jackman in Wolverine's iconic yellow costume. On what it was like seeing those comic-accurate suits, the director admitted, "This will sound like a scripted answer, but the straight-up truth is that when they first stepped out in their costumes — it was a camera test before we shot — every one of us froze. Goosebumps."

‘Deadpool’ franchise used to belong to Fox, just like most mutant-related properties. Dozens of movies existed in their separate universe, long before MCU was even a thing, and they were successful.
The first two Deadpool movies were massive hits, so as soon as Disney merged with Fox we knew that it was only a matter of time before Deadpool would make a jump to the MCU, and Marvel Studios would reboot the live-action X-Men movie, bringing some of the most popular characters from the comics into the fold.
Following CinemaCon Marvel Studios presentation, the first 9 minutes of the upcoming movie was shown to the attendees, and the “reviews” were glowing. Following the event Shawn Levy talked to Collider and explained ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ position within the franchise overall, and no, the upcoming movie is not a sequel to ‘Deadpool 2’ despite looking like it.

The ‘Deadpool’ franchise was under Fox, along with many other mutant-related properties. They had their own successful universe before the MCU even existed.
The first two Deadpool movies were huge successes. When Disney merged with Fox, it was expected that Deadpool would join the MCU eventually. Marvel Studios would likely reboot the live-action X-Men movies, bringing popular comic characters into the mix.
After Marvel Studios’ presentation at CinemaCon, they screened the first 9 minutes of the upcoming movie to attendees, and the initial feedback was very positive. After the event, Shawn Levy spoke to Collider about the role of ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ within the franchise. He clarified that the upcoming movie isn’t a sequel to ‘Deadpool 2,’ despite similarities in appearance.
“Well, the truth is, I think your answer is in the question, which is if you make the kinds of movies I make, you are listening to the audience.

This article contains spoilers for X-Men ’97 Episode 5.
X-Men ’97 delivered one of its most devastating episodes with Episode 5, which saw the brutal deaths of multiple mutants in the nation of Genosha, while also depicting the tragic fates of Magneto and Gambit. With the estimated number of mutants that were killed still under wraps, the event, as put forth by the writer of the show, was meant to emulate real-world tragedies like 9/11 and the Tulsa Massacre.

However, as the audiences reel from the tragedies of this episode, Marvel has also put forward the means for the attack on Genosha to be undone. Just before the attack began, we saw Cable rushing to find Madelyne Pryor, and trying to save the mutants. This could mean that the time-traveling mutant is looking to undo the events of Episode 5, which could prompt him to go back in time to prevent...

Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool has been rumored to be getting adamantium swords in Marvel Studios' Deadpool & Wolverine. Deadpool's adamantium swords could redeem his best but most-wasted weapons from 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The idea of Deadpool getting adamantium swords suggests he may be fighting Wolverine in the McU's Phase 5.
If one Deadpool & Wolverine rumor turns out to be true, Ryan Reynolds' Merc-with-a-Mouth could finally redeem his coolest weapon from his most hated X-Men entry, 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Ryan Reynolds is set to return as Wade Wilson's Deadpool in Marvel Studios' upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine, bringing his mutant mercenary into the MCU proper following the finalization of Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox in 2019. The 2024 project will mark Ryan Reynolds' fourth feature film appearance as Deadpool, having previously starred in X-Men Origins: Wolverine before reinventing the antihero in 2016's Deadpool and its 2018 sequel, Deadpool 2.

Deadpool & Wolverine Footage Reaction: Wade Wilson Brings R-Rated Raunch To The MCU [CinemaCon 2024]
Deadpool, the foul-mouthed pansexual super-anti-hero played by perpetual smart-aleck Ryan Reynolds, is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). That alone feels like pretty mind-blowing stuff, but he's also bringing back Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, who appeared to have hung up his adamantium claws after "Logan" in 2017. In the upcoming "Deadpool & Wolverine," hitting theaters on July 26, 2024, the Merc with the Mouth will join the MCU courtesy of some timeline-bending shenanigans ala the Disney+ series "Loki," and the first teaser trailer hints at just how that all happens. Unfortunately, we don't get to see much of Morena Baccarin's Vanessa or Brianna Hildebrand's Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and we have no idea how Jennifer Garner's Elektra Natchios from 2003's "Daredevil" factors into things, but thankfully now we've got a bit more information on the McU's first R-rated movie.

“He’s not alone anymore.” Against seemingly all odds, given its R-rating, adult nature, and disconnection from traditional cinema superheroics, Warner Bros. “Joker” movie earned over $1 billion at the box office in 2019, the sixth highest-grossing movie of the year, even outgrossing “Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker” worldwide.

Deadpool & Wolverine is the most anticipated movie of 2024, bringing together two iconic Marvel characters in a climactic team-up. The Fox X-Men universe is somewhat of a mess. It is filled with time travel, a bizarre decision to skip decades with every movie, and flashback and flash-forward movies that occasionally take place in alternate universes. It can be difficult to process the twists and turns of the universe, and it is especially challenging to consider the order of the movies.

Deadpool has an eclectic array of superpowers and gadgets that help him in his anti-hero antics which the current films have only barely scratched the surface of. Since his first comic appearance in 1991, the Merc with a Mouth has quickly become one of the most popular superheroes to debut in the last 50 years, winning over countless fans with his quippy sense of humor, fourth-wall-breaking antics, and effortlessly cool fighting style. After the astronomical success of Barbie, Margot Robbie’s LuckyChap Entertainment is taking on an exciting new project. Produced by Robbie's company, the film adaptation of Rob Liefeld’s comic Avengelyne will be directed by Olivia Wilde.
Per Deadline, there is a film rights auction currently underway for the Margot Robbie-produced, Olivia Wilde-helmed Avengelyne. The story follows an angel, fallen on Earth, who is now dedicated to fighting the forces of evil. Avengelyne was once a fierce warrior of Heaven, even facing off against the Devil himself, but when she’s tricked into questioning God’s love for mortals, she is cast out of the Holy Kingdom. On Earth, she has lost most of her angelic powers, save for her monstrous strength and magical blood, which can be used in extraordinary ways if imbued by the power of Bible verses. She fights demons, and may well be humanity’s last hope in the coming Armageddon.

David Leitch is here to remind you that sometimes the universe has things under control and all you have to do is shift your perspective. During Collider's Directors on Directing panel at WonderCon, moderated by Steve Weintraub, the Atomic Blonde and Deadpool 2 helmer shared how a scheduling snafu turned into a fortuitous twist of fate after he and the team involved with his upcoming comedy-action flick, The Fall Guy were unable to swap its release date to land in cinemas ahead of Greta Gerwig’s Barbie. Both projects share Ryan Gosling as their leading man and, while Leitch was hoping to get his movie out there first, the slowdown ended up being an extra boost in the right direction as Gosling landed nominations at the Golden Globes, BAFTAs, Oscars, and SAG Awards for his work in Gerwig’s blockbuster film.

Fox's X-Men movies set up Mister Sinister's live-action debut but he never officially appeared. Mister Sinister was teased in X-Men: Apocalypse, Logan, Deadpool 2, and New Mutants. Future plans included Jon Hamm potentially playing Mister Sinister, who would have finally appeared in Fox's canceled X-Men: Fear the Beast movie.
Although there were plenty of set-ups and teases for the live-action debut of Mister Sinister in Fox's X-Men movies, the classic villain never made an official appearance. Following the events of 2014's Days of Future Past and the creation of a new timeline with an all-new cast, subsequent X-Men movies began introducing new characters and, most notably, new villains. As a result, this included quite a bit of foundation laid for the arrival of Nathaniel Essex aka Mister Sinister.

Domino and Cable are missing from Deadpool & Wolverine, but they may be absent because they refused to get recruited by the Tva, escaping to another point in time with the help of Cable's time travel device. Domino's luck and Cable's time travel knowledge make them better Tva recruits than Deadpool, but the Tva may have settled with Deadpool due to his fourth-wall-breaking abilities. Domino and Cable could return in future MCU multiversal conflicts, as their skills and powers could also be helpful to the Avengers.

Jurassic World: Chaos Theory is a follow-up series to Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous. The Chaos Theory trailer focuses on Darius, the resident genius from Camp Cretaceous, who loves dinosaurs. Chaos Theory can potentially fix franchise mistakes and explore the turmoil caused by free-roaming dinosaurs.
The Jurassic Park franchise is one of Hollywood's most successful and beloved properties. Interestingly, it has evolved past the Steven Spielberg era, with the modern Jurassic World movies leaning harder on warped science, and the idea that dinosaurs are the perfect foils to unleash away from parks and onto civilization. This led to the recent movies playing on the concept of dinosaurs roaming free in the wild to constitute one of the biggest paradigm shifts in the franchise.
Interestingly, Netflix's Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous detailed the adventures of six teenagers stuck on Isla Nublar, giving previous insight into how these creatures would be when left unattended.

When Tye Sheridan was just 11 years old, something crazy happened: Terrence Malick came looking for him.
Specifically, the beloved American auteur wanted to cast a trio of young brothers for his “The Tree of Life,” co-starring Brad Pitt and Jessica Chastain. The vast majority of kids Malick and his team saw were — like Texas native Sheridan — totally green to this acting thing.
Sixteen years later, Sheridan isn’t green anymore. The actor is only continuing to build out his resume, adding producing into the mix with his most recent feature film, Jean-Stéphane Sauvaire’s “Asphalt City,” which debuted at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival under the title “Black Flies.”
Still, ask Sheridan about where his initial love of moviemaking came from, and it’s like he’s right back on Malick’s set. “I was randomly cast in the film. They recruited 10,000 kids in the state of Texas to come and audition.

But despite being in the oven since 2014, following the 2019 merger of 20th Century Fox and Disney, the project was ultimately scrapped, leaving the Magic Mike Star deeply traumatized.
However, after almost half a decade since the project was discarded at the Disney headquarters, the upcoming Deadpool 3 might finally give fans a chance to witness the Cajun Superhero in action.

McKenna Grace reprises her lead role as Phoebe in “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire,” which led the weekend box office with $45 million. At 17 she is not yet a household name, but she laid some groundwork early: At age six she had a supporting role on the Disney Channel sitcom “Crash & Bernstein.” Later she received an Emmy nomination for her work in “The Handmaid’s Tale,” and portrayed the younger selves for the leads in movies like “I, Tonya” and “Captain Marvel.”
Her “Ghostbusters” co-star is Finn Wolfhard, who made his debut at 13 in CW’s “Supernatural” before starring in “Stranger Things” and “It.” Zendaya, star of “Dune: Part Two,” got her start as a Disney Channel regular. Her co-star, Oscar-nominated Austin Butler, cut his teeth at Nickelodeon.
It’s a strange juxtaposition: Child actors are currently at the forefront of the uncomfortable but necessary conversation centered in Mary Robertson and Emma Schwartz...

After the live-action X-Men movies wasted his potential for years, Cyclops shines in X-Men '97, where he shows the full extent of his optic beams and his fighting skills. X-Men '97 also highlights Scott Summer's leadership skills and his importance to the X-Men team. The MCU can learn from X-Men '97 by honoring Cyclops' leader role without overshadowing other X-Men members.
Marvel's X-Men '97 proves how much Fox's X-Men movies wasted a top-tier mutant, but also how easy it will be for live-action MCU projects to fix that mistake. Years before the live-action X-Men movies existed, X-Men: The Animated Series adapted the famous Marvel comic books to a new medium, bringing Professor X's team to a wider audience. Thanks to X-Men: The Animated Series, X-Men '97 mutant characters who were introduced back then, like Rogue, Storm, Gambit, and Cyclops, were able to reach the same level of popularity as Marvel...
