The much-ridiculed yet much-loved actor is taking on the biggest role of his life in the first trailer for The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent – himself
This is a pivotal moment in Nicolas Cage’s career. Once a gold-plated blockbuster icon, he crashed to Earth many years ago in a flurry of financial mismanagement and poor career choices. You just have to look at his IMDb page for proof of the latter. Did you watch Inconceivable? Mom and Dad? Southern Fury? Vengeance: A Love Story? The Humanity Bureau? No, of course you didn’t, and they were only the movies he made in 2017.
Slowly but surely, though, Cage has been working his way back to us, either with fun little parts in big movies or acclaimed turns in smaller fare. The Cage comeback continues, with news that he has signed on to star as Dracula in Chris McKay’s Renfield,...

You know, Nicolas Cage gets a lot of criticism for acting in straight-to-digital movies these days. But for every Vengeance: A Love Story or The Humanity Bureau, he sprinkles in little seen gems like Mandy and Color Out of Space as well as a memorable performance in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. He’s also set to play Joe Exotic, so at least he still tries to challenge himself. Bruce Willis, on the other hand, has officially thrown in the proverbial towel.
In the past nine years, he’s starred in 20 movies that have either had a limited theatrical release or skipped the cinema and went straight to your living room. Some of the names of these films include Precious Cargo, Marauders and Once Upon a Time in Venice. And before you think otherwise, that last one has absolutely zero connection to Quentin Tarantino.

This is the first trailer released for a new haunted house horror thriller called Delirium. It doesn't look like a great horror movie, but it does look like it might be fun to watch. The story follows a group of teens who dare one of their friends to walk up to the porch of a legendary haunted house and he ends up disappearing. So his friends decide to go on in after him, and as you'll see, terror awaits them.
What I like about this is that this is stuff my brothers, friends, and I would do all the time when we were growing up! It was always fun exploring abanded old building and houses that we thought were haunted! Here's the synopsis:

"I didn't have a good feeling about this..." Gravitas Ventures has debuted the first official trailer for a horror thriller titled Delirium, which first premiered last year but is just getting a release in early 2018. This is actually one of the first feature films made by former stuntman and second unit director Johnny Martin, who later went on to direct Vengeance: A Love Story with Nicolas Cage, and Hangman with Al Pacino, both also released this year (before this film). Delirium is about a group of teens who dare a classmate to reach the porch of a legendary old house, but he never comes back. So they gear up and go in themselves to get him. Starring Mike C. Manning, Griffin Freeman, August Roads, Ryan Pinkston, Seth Austin, and Elena Sanchez. This looks like a very wild, testosterone-filled haunted house horror flick. Tread carefully. Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Johnny Martin's Delirium,...

We've seen Al Pacino do it all, from crime boss to decorated cop. In this new trailer for the crime thriller titled Hangman, we see Pacino hunting a serial killer. The movie was directed by Johnny Martin (Vengeance: A Love Story) and it has a very dark and sinister vibe. Pacino plays a homicide detective who teams up with a criminal profiler, played by Karl Urban, to catch a serial killer whose crimes are inspired by the children's game Hangman. Here is the official synopsis:
Decorated homicide detective Ray Archer (Al Pacino) and his partner, criminal profiler Will Ruiney, (Karl Urban) are tasked to catch one of the city's notoriously vicious serial killers who is playing a twisted version of murder using the child's game - Hangman, while crime journalist Christi Davies (Brittany Snow) reports on the crime spree, shadowing the detectives.

"We're gunna find this guy." A trailer has arrived for a new crime thriller titled Hangman, which is about detectives hunting a serial killer, but apparently it even has some similarities to Paranormal Activity. Say what? From director Johnny Martin (of this year's Vengeance: A Love Story) the crime thriller stars Al Pacino as a homicide detective who teams up with a criminal profiler to catch a serial killer whose crimes are inspired by the children's game Hangman. Also starring Karl Urban, Brittany Snow, Sarah Shahi, and Joe Anderson. From the footage in this trailer, this seems closer to "Mindhunter" or "True Detective" or even The Snowman than most crime dramas, but maybe there's a big twist in it. Might be worth a look. Here's the first full-length trailer (+ poster) for Johnny Martin's Hangman, direct from YouTube: Decorated homicide detective Ray Archer (Al Pacino) and his partner, criminal profiler Will Ruiney,...

After just eight days in release, WB and New Line's It became the highest grossing September release of all-time, two days later it added another $40 million to that total for an impressive $60 million second weekend and nearly $220 million in just ten days. The horror film's performance vastly overshadowed the weekend's two new wide releases that saw Lionsgate and CBS Films's American Assassin deliver respectable results in second place while Paramount's release of Darren Aronofsky's mother! suffered greatly, finishing in third and receiving a disastrous "F" CinemaScore from opening day audiences. With an estimated $60 million this weekend, WB and New Line's It brought its domestic cume to $218.7 million after just ten days in release. As already mentioned, that makes it the largest September release ever, topping 1986's Crocodile Dundee ($174.8m). That number, of course, is not adjusted for inflation. Adjusted for inflation, however, It still finishes within the top...

Nicolas Cage stars in a new revenge thriller called Vengeance: A Love Story, which is based on 2003 novel Rape: A Love Story, by author Joyce Carol Oates. Today we get a look at the new trailer and poster for the film.
Here is the synopsis:
On the Fourth of July, single mother Teena is brutally assaulted by a local gang in front of her 12-year-old daughter Bethie. Even though Bethie is able to identify the attackers, the defense hires a local hot-shot defense attorney who manipulates the law to their advantage. When the criminals are set free, Gulf War veteran and detective John Dromoor (Nicolas Cage) is dismayed by the lack of justice and plots revenge against the men on Teena’s behalf.
This movie, in many ways, feels very similar to the Bruce Willis starring Death Wish. A man seeking justice on his own terms after the justice system fails him.

Just when I think I'm done with Nicolas Cage and his direct-to-video looking projects, one comes along that looks like it might be ok. The latest: Vengeance: A Love Story.
Based on a novel by award winning author Joyce Carol Oates, Cage stars as a police officer and gulf war veteran who, when the law fails a single mother and her daughter, takes vengeance into his own hands.
I know, it sounds so totally generic and more than a little like Man on Fire, but Cage looks a little better than usual in this one plus there's the added bonus of Don Johnson.
Directed by stuntman-turned-director Johnny Martin, I'm hoping for some good action sequences but I'd settle for a solid thriller with a performance from Cage that isn't laughable. Anything more would be [Continued ...]...

"Leave us alone!" FilmRise has debuted an official trailer for a new action film titled Vengeance: A Love Story, adapted from the Joyce Carol Oates novel titled Rape: A Love Story. The story is about a local police officer who goes for vengeance when a local gang rapes a woman. The criminals find a way to walk away free thanks to a hot shot lawyer, and so the detective takes matters into his own hands. Nicolas Cage stars as John Dromoor, with a cast including Anna Hutchison, Talitha Bateman, Deborah Kara Unger, Don Johnson, Joshua Mikel, Rocco Nugent, Joe Ochterbeck, Carter Burch, and Charlene Tilton. This looks like a generic vengeance movie, especially with Nicolas Cage, but who knows. It's also interesting they removed the word "rape" from any description of this film, but it's definitely a major part of the plot. Here's the first trailer (+ new poster) for Johnny Martin...

Another random Nicolas Cage movie has arrived, though this time around it has some real literary flavor. “Vengeance: A Love Story” is based on the provocatively titled novel “Rape: A Love Story” by Joyce Carol Oates. But the cinematic translation winds up playing more or less like what you’d expect from latter day Cage.
Originally slated to direct, the actor passed the duties onto longtime second unit and stunt coordinator Johnny Martin for this story about a detective who takes matters into his own hands when the perpetrators of a vicious attack on a mother and her daughter are set free.

In my prior life as a script reader, I certainly read a lot of bad scripts, but at times, an even more common occurrence was a script that seemed to do a great many things right, but somehow fell just short of being something you wanted to champion as a movie. As draining as the terrible scripts were, there’s something pure about clear-cut bad. It takes little effort to explain why they’re unfit.
The real challenges were the scripts that had kind of a decent premise, kind of an okay twist or two, and a lead character who wasn’t bad so much as he or she was just… there. The raw materials are there for what Could be a script. They just happen to be assembled in the least compelling way...

At this point, Nicolas Cage movies fall into a few basic categories. You’ve got your occasional big-budget projects (Type One), your quirky indie things (Type Two), and then you’ve got those movies where Cage stands on a soundstage somewhere in Eastern Europe and points guns at people (Type Three). Connoisseurs of the latter category are in luck today, with Deadline reporting that Cage has signed on for 211, a new, Bulgaria-shot bank heist movie from director York Alec Shackleton. Cage will play a cop trying to stop a bank robbery, presumably through a combination of fascinating acting choices, bizarre hair, and shouting.
The actor currently has a Cage-standard ton of movies in the works; his recent projects include The Humanity Bureau (Type Two), Vengeance: A Love Story (Type Three), and the upcoming “killer parents” thriller Mom And Dad (also Three, but probably with a greater than average amount ...

Nicolas Cage doesn’t hurt for work. The Academy Award-winner starred in five movies last year, whether you saw them or not (even as a Cage devotee, I only ended up seeing two), and the prolific actor already has a whopping six set to arrive later this year, including the already-released Arsenal from earlier this month. But the rage inside Cage doesn’t go down quietly. He figured out his next project, the bank heist drama 211, which starts filming in March in Bulgaria.
Written and directed by York Alex Shackleton, 211 follows a good cop (Cage) trying to dismantle a recent bank heist. Seems simple enough, right? 211, by the way, is police code for robbery in progress. It finds Cage on the other side of the law this time, as he recently found himself portraying a quirky bank robber in last year’s overlooked dark comedy The Trust, which was one...

Johnny Martin is directing from a script by John Mankiewicz (“House of Cards”), who adapted Joyce Carol Oates‘ award-winning 2003 novel “Rape: A Love Story.” Cage was previously attached to direct, but a scheduling conflict forced the actor to hand the reins to Martin, according to insiders. Cage plays a detective who seeks vengeance against four men who assaulted a single mother in front of her own young daughter. Hutchison will play the woman in.

On hand were casting professionals Adam Hochfeld (Central Casting Atlanta), Cheryl Louden-Kubin (Atlanta Casting, LLC, “True Memoirs of an International Assassin”), Rhavynn Drummer (Tyler Perry Studios), and Jen Kelley (Big Picture Casting, “Vengeance: A Love Story” starring Nicolas Cage). Here are five points from the panel that all working actors should keep in mind. Stolen. Rage. Trespass. It seems like Nicolas Cage can’t stay away from movies that involve kidnapping. If those three movies were “a phase” then we can consider it one that’s ongoing, as the Cagester has signed up to star in another kidnap thriller called Philly Fury.
Steven C. Miller (Marauders, Silent Night) directs from a script by Jason Mosberg. The story is described by Variety as “about a Philadelphia businessman whose deadbeat brother is kidnapped for a large ransom – leading everyone to believe that the brother is involved in the kidnapping. Cage’s character, who’s also a mobster, is forced to take action on his own.” It sounds like plenty of Cage’s previous roles, but I never tire from watching him bring on the Cage Rage, which he probably will in this.

Nicolas Cage has signed on to direct and star in a new film called Vengeance: A Love Story. This wouldn’t be the first time that Cage has directed a movie. In 2002, he directed James Franco in a movie called Sonny.
The new film project is based on a novel written by Joyce Carol Oates called Rape: A Love Story. Cage will play Detective John Dromoor in the film, “who is asked to help a woman named Teena, who is gang-raped over the Fourth of July weekend. Teena's daughter, who witnessed the attack, asks the detective to help her when it seems that her mother's attackers may be getting away with it when the lawyers put the focus on Teena's credibility, based on her sobriety and sexual promiscuity.” Harold Becker was previously set to direct, but now Cage has taken over.
This sounds like it will be a pretty heavy movie.

Marking only his second foray behind the camera in a decade, Nicolas Cage is poised to assume directorial duties on indie love thriller Vengeance: A Love Story.
That’s according to Variety, revealing that Cage will replace Harold Becker in the director’s chair. Having only been attached to the project last month, it’s an early departure for Becker. Back then, Nicolas Cage was on board to star in the adaptation, though the A-lister is now primed to helm his first feature film since 2002’s widely derided Sonny.
John Mankiewicz (House, House of Cards) is lending his hand to adapt Joyce Carol Oates’s 2003 novel, which goes by the more startling title Rape: A Love Story, and will tell the tale of Teena Maguire, a 30-year-old single mother who was brutally gang raped and left for dead at the hands of deranged meth heads. Witnessed by her daughter, Bethie,...

Nicolas Cage hasn’t directed a feature film in almost 14 years. Cage’s directorial debut, Sonny, which stars James Franco and features a score from Clint Mansell (Moon), made slightly over $17,000 at the box office. It was a small film, so it wasn’t a disaster, but it wasn’t exactly a hit with audiences or critics. After spending a while away from the director’s […]

All right, yes, it’s been some time since a Nicolas Cage-starrer was worth giving one’s attention to, and the basic set-up for Trust isn’t all that different from those numerous films we’ve ignored in years past — yet the first preview and basic credentials suggest something a cut above. My basic interest might come down to the very odd lineup of stars: along with Cage, Elijah Wood, musician Sky Ferreira, and Jerry Lewis (!) are making turns herein. By the looks of it, the material won’t be a total waste of that considerable talent.
As directed by music-video-cum-feature-directors Alex and Ben Brewer and co-written by Adam Hirsch, the Vegas-set comedy concerns two loose-limbed cops who decide to rob a drug dealer’s cash-filled vault. It would seem things eventually go wrong, as should be expected, but trailer is mostly humor-oriented — and none too bad on that count,...

Fourteen years ago, Nicolas Cage made his directorial debut with "Sonny," a small-scale drama starring James Franco about a soldier who returns home from war and falls into prostitution.
