The beloved Tom Hanks flick, Forrest Gump, which narrates the tale of a sweet but simple-minded common man who unintentionally finds himself at the center of significant moments in American history, is commemorating its 30th anniversary this summer.
Robert Zemeckis’ directorial was one of the biggest hits of the 1990s, no doubt. It took home six Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Actor, and Best Director. It makes sense that audiences find comfort in the story of the slow-witted man who never loses sight of his true love, Jenny (Robin Wright). Truly, what a work!… Well, not really.

Taylor Sheridan began his career as an actor but shot to fame as a writer with TV shows such as Yellowstone and Tulsa King, and movies such as Sicario and Wind River. Sheridan’s works are known for their explorations of rural American life and often see a clash between traditional American life and modernity.
One of the primary examples of this school of thought is the Kevin Costner starrer Yellowstone. The show has garnered a dedicated fan following and constantly has a massive viewership, despite not impressing critics. Sheridan reportedly mentioned that he knows that critics hate his show as there is ‘no plot’ in it and is designed to be hated.

There are many cases where the same showrunners take actors from projects they have previously worked on and give them offers for upcoming works with Taylor Sheridan being no different. Hugh Dillon became one of the few who went from Wind River to Mayor of Kingstown. Jeremy Renner too met a similar fate. However, for Ryan Bingham, the case was almost the same.

The actor almost had an opportunity of starring alongside Jeremy Renner in Wind River. Although not the same, he got the chance to play Walker in Sheridan’s Yellowstone. One of the most loved characters, Walker had a lot of impact on the fans despite his little screen time. Although he was first asked to write a song for Renner’s film, his true calling stood as an actor in the series.

Kevin Costner’s appearance in the final Yellowstone episodes remains undecided. One of the prime attractions of the series was certainly the cowboy John Dutton, played by Costner, who apparently had a lot of female fans. But surprisingly, he was not the only cowboy who stole the hearts of women viewers. Cole Hauser, who plays Rip Wheeler, shared that he couldn’t believe the amount of love he got from the female fans of the Paramount series.

Jeremy Renner has worked hard for some iconic movies in the early 2010s but his most iconic role was that of Hawkeye in the MCU. Portraying the superhero gave Renner his fame but it also kind of pigeon-holed him into a certain character.

One year after Jeremy Renner suffered a near-fatal snow plow accident, the actor took to Instagram to share his visit with the staff of the Reno, Nevada, hospital that saved his life.
“Rollin through Reno, Nv with joy, blessings, and pizza!” the actor captioned the post. “Stopped by to see kids/superheroes, first responders, and doctors, nurses and staff at Renown hospital. Paying my respects and celebrating love, life and the blessings it brings to us all. Thank you and this community for keeping me here… I’m forever in your debt with gratitude.”
Renner also took to his Instagram Stories while meeting with doctors, nurses and first responders.
Last year, Renner suffered multiple fractures and went through several medical procedures after a snowplow accidentally rolled on him.
Renner also announced a musical diary project that documented his healing journey. The project was created in collaboration with his daughter, Ava Berlin Renner.

A New Year means lots of removals from Netflix and January 1st is looking busy, with over 100 movies set to leave the service already. Below, we’ll be keeping track of all the Netflix departures for the first month of 2024.
First, a few housekeeping notes as to how Netflix removals work before we dive in. Due to licensing agreements, shows and movies added to Netflix aren’t added forever. Instead, they’re essentially rented for a fixed period. All the shows below have their current window on Netflix ending and will likely be bound for a rival streaming service.
We list titles slightly differently from other outlets, with our listings being the actual day of removal. If you want to watch any titles scheduled to expire on January 1st, for example, you’ll need to watch by the end of December 31st.

Yellowstone is saddling up for its final ride.
Taylor Sheridan’s Paramount Network megahit will resume production on its final episodes in the late spring of 2024. Yellowstone, earlier this month, had set a premiere date of November 2024 for the second half of its fifth and final season, which last aired its midseason finale Jan. 6, 2023, and will usher in the end of the series.
The final episodes close the book on the current Dutton family saga. After ending on a game-changing cliffhanger involving Jamie Dutton (Wes Bentley), sister Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) and patriarch John Dutton (Kevin Costner), the second half of the season had initially been slated for this fall. But production was first delayed by a scheduling dispute over Costner’s status with the show and then by the dual writers and actors strikes, which brought about a halt of scripted productions.

Jeremy Renner announced that he would continue his music career with an original collection of songs.
“A collection of music we wrote about different milestones in my journey of recovery since Jan 1st this year. ‘Love and Titanium’ has been painful, deeply healing, and ultimately cathartic for me to create,” he wrote on social media. “I hope I get the courage to share with you all.”
Renner’s post showed an image of the album art, which was also accompanied by the word “soon.” He did not announce any other release plans.
These songs were inspired by the snowplow incident that he faced on January 1 and the recovery process which he endured afterwards. The title of the collection, Love and Titanium, is a reference to how Renner described his recovery during interviews.

If you tuned into "Special Ops: Lioness" this summer, after watching the rest of screenwriter Taylor Sheridan's ever-growing catalog, you may have come away each week surprised to see the character Two Cups still kicking. That's because the actor who plays the CIA special agent in the Paramount+ thriller is James Jordan, who's become notorious for dying in Sheridan's projects. In fact, when asked about Jordan's recurring deaths in an interview with Deadline last year, Sheridan called the actor "my pinch-hitter, when I need to kill somebody."
Jordan's characters have died memorably in three Sheridan projects and counting, beginning all the way back with the 2017 film "Wind River." The film is a bleak look at the epidemic of missing and murdered Indigenous women through the lens of two white investigators trying to solve a murder, and Jordan plays the despicable party responsible. You might recognize Taylor Sheridan from his role as David Hale on "Sons of Anarchy" or Travis Wheatley in Paramount+'s "Yellowstone," but the actor's work on screen is arguably not as impressive as the stacked résumé of films and television shows that he has written.
Sheridan began acting in the 1990s and took on a number of small roles in various TV shows and movies throughout the remainder of the decade into the 2000s. But his career as an actor never quite took off, which is when he discovered his talent and passion for screenwriting. After writing the pilot for "Mayor of Kingstown" in 2011, he knew that's exactly what he was meant to do. "I was a fair actor, but that's all I was ever going to be," Sheridan told The Hollywood Reporter in a June 2023 interview. "Hollywood will tell you what you're supposed to do if you listen.

The Marvel series “Echo” — which debuted its inaugural trailer on Friday and premieres on Jan. 10 — contains several firsts for the company. It’s the first Marvel Studios production that will debut simultaneously on Disney+ and Hulu, the first that will have every episode available to binge at once and the first that will be rated TV-ma. And most importantly to director and executive producer Sydney Freeland (“Reservation Dogs”), it is the first superhero series ever to center on a deaf and a Native American character: Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox), who made her debut in the 2021 series “Hawkeye.”
“Representation was extremely important to myself and to everyone on the crew,” Freeland said at a press event for the series in October, where she was joined by executive producer Brad Winderbaum. But while the filmmakers said the show had Indigenous and deaf representation in front of and behind the camera, there were...

While it was reported earlier that Paramount+ original content giant Taylor Sheridan will not be as closely involved with the development of Sicario 3, he definitely has his dance card filling up with more Yellowstone-related projects. The last season of his acclaimed series, which has been immensely popular with audiences, has been marred by behind-the-scenes difficulties with its iconic leading man, Kevin Costner. The last season’s production has also fallen in line with a bevy of other projects that have been delayed with the dual strikes from the WGA and SAG-AFTRA.
Paramount Network has just announced that Yellowstone‘s final season, which was originally slated to premiere this year, has now moved to November 2024. Additionally, Sheridan has been able to expand the Yellowstone story already with two spin-offs, 1883 and 1923. Paramount+ is now set to premiere two more spin-offs, 1944 and 2024. Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour is back to eat the weekend box office with a fork and knife as the concert film grooves to $5.9M as an estimated Thursday total. The Sam Wrench-directed movie gives Swifties a front-row seat to one of the most in-demand tours in decades, pulling $98.7M at 3,855 theaters overall. These numbers are all the more impressive, considering the Eras Tour exits theaters Monday through Wednesday, building hype for a weekend-centric theatrical event.
Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon also screened in cinemas on Thursday, blooming with $2.6M in previews. Showings for Scorsese’s latest epic – which we loved – began at 2 p.m. due to the film’s 3 hours and 26 minutes runtime. No one knows if Flower Moon can defeat The Eras Tour at the box office this weekend. However, analysts predict another impressive weekend for the blonde bombshell from West Reading, Pennsylvania.

Taylor Swift, the pop icon who’s untouchable and burns brighter than the sun, has no plans to let go of her stranglehold on the box office when Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon takes the stage. Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour banked $92.3M in its first weekend, with theaters pausing showtimes between Monday and Thursday. While the concert film could take a 60%-70% dip in its second weekend with $27M-$37M, it could be enough to walk all over Scorsese’s latest epic at the box office.
Analysts watching Killers of the Flower Moon predict a $20M-$25M opening for Scorsese’s gripping drama. Considering the film’s 3-hour, 26-minute runtime, that’s an impressive take for a theater experience that should come with complimentary adult diapers. It’s not uncommon for gigantic movie franchises and very popular television shows to make a star out of actors who were rather unknown before getting their roles in those franchises. However, as popularity increases, it’s also not uncommon for an actor to try new things in their careers since they don’t want to be associated only with that one role that turned them into stars.
Dave Bautista is one of the examples. After playing the role of Drax for the last time in this year’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,’ the former wrestler-turned-actor decided to focus on other roles because he said he doesn’t want Drax to be his only legacy. And now, it looks like Elizabeth Olsen, who is best known for playing Wanda Maximoff, aka the Scarlet Witch, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, feels the same way.

Elizbeth Olsen, who played “Scarlet Witch ” in MCU over the years, is opening up about her relationship with her Marvel Cinematic Universe Role and wants to move forward with new projects.
The 2015 film Avengers: Age of Ultron marked the actress’s MCU debut. After a twisting narrative arc, her character died after the movie Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness in 2022.

Elizabeth Olsen wants to explore other characters besides Marvel’s Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch.
The Love & Death star got candid with The Times of London about her feelings surrounding her longtime character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, who most recently appeared in Doctor Strange Multiverse of Madness.
While discussing her most famous role with the publication, Olsen appeared conflicted to the reporter. She said, “I’m trying to figure out… Because, specifically in the last four years, my output has been Marvel. I don’t want… It’s not that I don’t want to be associated as just this character.”
The WandaVision actress continued, “But I really feel like I need to be building other parts back up for balance. I so much want to do films right now. And I hope some of them come together in the way I feel like they can. But yeah, that’s something that I need.

Elizabeth Olsen told The Times of London in a recently-published interview (conducted pre-strike) that she is aggressively seeking a “variation” of characters after working for four years solely in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Olsen filmed “WandaVision” and “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” back to back, which was perhaps too much time dedicated to only playing Scarlet Witch. That’s a large reason Olsen was drawn to playing alleged axe murderer Candy Montgomery in Max’s “Love and Death.”

At this point, fans of Taylor Sheridan's "Yellowstone" are either champing at the bit for the hit neo-Western to premiere the last episodes of season 5 or they've simply moved on after nearly eight months off the air. Once the smoke clears and the final six episodes of the series start trickling out, however, the ratings are sure to go through the roof once again. There's simply too much high plains drama and backstabbing political intrigue that needs to be wrapped up before "Yellowstone" finally rides off into the sunset.
Throughout the run of the show, the main reason to watch has always been the hopelessly damaged characters that dedicate themselves to the cowboy way of life to preserve the Dutton family legacy. One of the most popular additions to "Yellowstone," without question, is musician-turned-actor Ryan Bingham, who plays Walker, a debonair rodeo crooner with a chip on his shoulder.

Obviously, Taylor Sheridan is the king of Paramount+. The creator of “Yellowstone” and seemingly a dozen other shows, Sheridan, was an Academy Award-nominated screenwriter, but soon began growing by leaps and bounds, directing “Wind River” in 2017 and then was essentially given the keys to TV on Paramount as a writer, director, showrunner, producer and The man who runs things there.
