Good but outdated
julieanna-5773725 January 2017
If you enjoy watching real life cops working- you will like this series. HOWEVER, keep in mind that this series is from the early 90's and every male on here has a mustache or mullet going on. I started watching this series last week and thought it was filmed in 2016. After seeing mullets and mustaches, I started to do a little research. It is definitely not for younger viewers though, as there is nudity and foul language. I guess that is a given when it comes to dealing with the public. Most of what I have seen so far is a lot of drugged up people who hallucinate and in turn, break the law. They have a lot more patience than I do! The cops in this series are pretty hardcore. They definitely back their fellow brothers and sisters in blue.

Enjoyed fully
robertbartlett-2300519 January 2016
I fully enjoyed watching this TV-show, as I love seeing some of the things the police deal with in the cities around me, I like seeing how the police deal with some of the under pressure moments and some of the random moments that occur while they are on duty. If you enjoyed the American based TV-Show 'Cops' then you will also enjoy this, as it was made in a similar editing and recording style. If the producers plan on making another season please do so, because I will watch and enjoy every moment. The only thing I suggest they change for the next season or episodes is add in what city and police department they were filming with, it would save some of my focus on the curiosity.

You are UNDER ARREST!!
TheBmanVancity10 January 2018
Under Arrest is a spectacular reality cop show. The cameras really showcase an in-depth look into the street side of things in 90s western Canada during the crack and heroin epidemics. Some scenes get a little too crazy and they don't censor too much; for instance, a woman hung herself in a Vancouver motel room and the camera actually showed the body hanging. It's not for the weak stomached, sensitive or easily offended so take that into consideration before you watch. This show is raw! You'll get a few fun scenes such as the police closing bars in Surrey full of rowdy drunk people just having a good time screaming "hi mom!" into the camera, or the police doing street checks at 3am and dealing with a drunken funny guy. But not long into the show you may connect with the police officers you relate to the most, or even whomever they're interacting with, because they could be your neighbours. This show debuted 25 years ago, I was far too young back then to be downing pints at the Dell Hotel on King George Blvd like in the show, but every one of those faces you see has a story and I wonder where they're all right now. All I have left to say is when will Netflix release the next few seasons?

Best Police show around
davidnessman14 November 2017
Awesome show that really gives you an idea of what police have to deal with on a regular basis. It will give you an new respect for the type of garbage they have to deal with day in and day out. People commenting excessive force, well as a non liberal crybaby I can only say, these losers probably should stop resisting arrest. These Canadian police are absolutely top notch!

If you're American, this is AMAZING.

Get ready for massive mullets, Denim Garys (You know, cause they're Canadian, eh?), bar brawls over being called a "goof" (...yes, really), and lots and LOTS of knives (mostly steak). Have some beers, enjoy some whacky tobaccy, and get ready to piss yourselves. I recommend watching it in a mixed season manner. Start with season one, jump to eight, back to two, up to seven, and so on and so forth because there is one officer in particular that is sort of tall, lanky, and nerdy (you'll know exactly who I'm talking about) who starts out in season one mustacheless and full of hope, excitement, and eagerness and by the eighth season he is fully mustachioed and understands that this is going absolutely nowhere and has just about given up on humanity - Absolutely priceless. A MUST WATCH.

Over 20 years old and still entertaining

Someone wondered why the cops were not giving the criminals "Miranda Rights". LOL last I checked Miranda was not a Canadian.

Police brutality
rhfahmy5 October 2022
So I know if this is an old show, however why would Netflix decide to air it now as I am watching the first few episodes I am very disturbed. These officers I know are in Canada however they claim to have the same rights as America however they do not they do not even ask questions they just arrest it's disturbing how officers just get away with it and Netflix wants to just now air this what are they trying to show either the officers are horrible or they're pro officers that treat people like this.

I watched one episode where two people did absolutely nothing wrong but got arrested for obstruction of justice just for being concerned and watching someone getting arrested another woman was assaulted by a female coming to her and the officer said she should not have called her out. How can they arrest people for being intoxicated without getting evidence on them. Then another guy was pulled over and he was under the legal limit by half but was told he shouldn't be driving. These officers all of them if they're still officers should be investigated. Also a female asked not to be recorded and they didn't care nor was she actually even operating a car and she got charged these officers are just disgusting. They also almost shot a guy going to a Halloween party wearing a costume it looks like from the Civil War and then blamed it on him for almost getting shot knowing it was Halloween. I see a repeat of officers telling the people what they are and what they have done instead of actually showing evidence of what they are/done wrong.. Another woman was arrested not proven to be intoxicated under the influence she was trying to report an assault from a man and they refused to listen to her until she "sober up". Again I ask why would Netflix air this it just shows the horrible horrible disgusting side of police officers that keep on getting away with things as a matter fact this showed dates the early 90s that was when police brutality was the worst so why would they air it now. If people fight back they're crazy intoxicated maybe it's not right the way they fight back but maybe they felt backed into a corner.

Really enjoy the show

Wasn't aware the other reviewer is a cop who was on the show, apparently they were literally there at every arrest! Pretty cool

You are mmmbusted!

The perpetrators often resist arrest while arguing that they are cooperating or while demanding a detailed conversation about the law. Bystanders get involved and ignore warnings to stay out of the way until they are also arrested for obstruction of justice. But these verbal disagreements with the police always evaporate quickly when a police dog is involved in the chase. I think the dog chases are my favorites.

This eight season show was filmed from 1993-2001 and shot in Edmonton, Alberta and Greater Vancouver British Columbia area. Released on Netflix recently with good video and sound, and presumably available on DVD.

I think an update with body cameras and street cameras would be popular.

Sorta thought this was a parody
tulipoclock21 May 2017
Hilarious. Is this real? There are some good throwback styles and cars in these episodes. Good stuff and definitely Sunday afternoon Netflix-in-bed worthy ;) When we first watched this show we thought it was a parody, but upon further research, it's a real Canadian rendition of C.O.P.S. It's a bit more raw, anonymous (I don't see cities and provinces ever shown/spoken about), and no UB-40 intro theme. Watch it for sweet Canadian accents, moustaches for days, and ladies with mullets & bad attitudes.

Great Show - This is the way our cops in US need to be
camarojunky23 November 2017
Great show, I have a total respect for cops and know that they have to deal with the scum of the earth and always be wondering if one of the spectators don't like swift justice which is why our country is losing the battle to corrupt criminals and deadbeats. If you want to sit there and gripe about oh boo hoo the guy beating his wife was hit by the cop, go do a ride along and you'll see what they have to deal with. Our laws in this country are too lenient and we need more swift justice. Hands down, the US should adopt the justice seen in this show. If you don't like deadbeat criminals getting what they deserve go live in candy land not America

S1E1 So Far some excessive reactions IMO
cdgray-180068 February 2017
I'm half way through the first episode and I've cringed on a few of the cops and the excessive use of 'control' like just crazy. One cop was actually stopping someone from breathing while on a bed in the hospital, yeah the suspect was acting horrible being drunk but he was also in a car accident so what gives with literally choking someone, last I checked Cop does not equal Dr and that person could have had an injured neck that the officer made worse... I have zero problems with police of any sort, I do have an issue with someone being a cop just so they can throw their weight around... and some of the ones on here so far are very impressed with themselves and you can see in their faces are almost happy at getting to throw someone around..

WannaBE COPs show...
modam7019 September 2018
Warning: Spoilers
The opening scene starts off with Canadian COPs pulling over a hispanic guy that is "suspected" of a DUI. Sorry did I say "suspected". I mean these COPs determined he was as soon as they saw him. They do no field test proving if indeed he is intoxicated, they simply say..."OK! Put your hands behind your back, you're UNDER ARREST". Not sure if this was them explaining the name of the show, or just not knowing how to be a COP. Either way...this show is a terrible knock off of the award winning COPS.

Are these even real cops?
thegaminghorseh5 November 2018
Im only 03:18 into S1E1 on Netflix and I had to stop watching. The theme song sounds like a 90's videography class in highschool made it for a class project, he was arresting the guy without evidence of impared driving (not even a breathalyzer), and I never heard a single line of the Miranda rights. This all seems so made up and fake 😂 It's like they told the guy who's getting arrested to just start freakin out for no reason and say "don't hurt me" over and over. Either these are the worst cops ever or these actors suck omg. Not even gonna attempt to watch the rest of this series.

Waste of Cop's Time
gpxdlr6 May 2020
Viewed 3 episodes of RCMP interaction with the public. Most of the dealings were with drunks, domestic violence, petty thefts. In other words, a complete waste of time for the cops but a necessary job. Boring show though...same things. I wouldn't want to be cops in these cities.

Pretty boring and uninteresting crimes
garnet-suss20 July 2021
The show isn't done poorly, but the events/arrssts are boring and uninteresting.

The RCMP only police in our rural areas and in towns, not cities, so I expected the show to be pretty boring.
