Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Sex & Nudity

  • Naked Barbie dolls are featured in photos after being discovered by police in Morgan's bedroom, including one doll with blood colored in over its crotch and another with large X marks drawn all over it.
  • Brief screenshots are featured of Slenderman fanart and fanfiction, including one titled "Little One" about Slenderman falling in love with a child, multiple drawings of Slenderman hugging/kissing and fondling children, and one shot of Slenderman wrapping his tentacles around a woman to hug her.
  • A girl tells a police officer that she sees "gross things" on the news like stories about "men kidnapping kids and doing things to them". It's implied however that the police officer wanted to know this not for sexual reasons, but because he thinks if she saw something shocking on the news it may have contributed to the inspiration of the crime.

Violence & Gore

  • Drawings are shown which feature blood, knives, phrases about death/suicide and other disturbing content, discovered in a girl's bedroom.
  • Footage from various YouTube uploaders is shown, some of which is tame but some of which is quite gory and sickening, including a fish being cut apart, desecrated and flushed down a toilet, a pet wildcat torturing and killing a live mouse, staged footage of a fictional entity (Slenderman) creeping into apartment windows and killing/kidnapping children and cartoon characters being killed.
  • Two girls testify to police and lawyers about having stabbed their best friend nineteen times and leaving her to die after luring her into a deserted park in the morning. This is quite disturbing; the more heavyset girl is seen with a bloodstain on her shirt, and both girls show little remorse for what they did, going so far as to say it was "necessary" and idly telling a police detective about how the girl was screaming "I can't see" over and over.
  • Footage from the 1940's film Disney's Bambi is shown, which features a mother deer being shot offscreen.
  • Footage from an adaptation of the Pied Piper fairy-tale is shown, which features lie rats being beaten to death with on-screen blood shown and being drowned alive.
  • A girl's YouTube comments are screen-grabbed from gory footage that she has apparently watched and laughed at with no concern, including commenting that she liked how "Zeus crushed the mouse" (referring to a woman's pet cat torturing a mouse) and "I wonder how his plumber felt afterwards" (regarding footage of a fish being tortured and flushed down a toilet.
  • A disturbing animated video clip is played of a Creepypasta character saying "why would you shove a baby feet-first into a blender? So you can watch the expression on its face!" No actual killing of a baby is shown onscreen.
  • A girl compares her bullying to that of Slenderman being bullied himself, and her former peers claim that contrary to her parents' belief, she was routinely picked on and had very few friends. One of the girls later laments that the stabbing of one friend was committed to please her other "friends" (most of whom are imaginary).
  • Staged video footage of a Satanic ritual is featured, apparently somebody's home video.
  • A home video made via cell phone is featured which shows a brother (behind the camera) filming his little sister doing gymnastics routines in the backyard. The brother suddenly announces that he wants to stop filming. Belching noises are heard, and he claims he is going to vomit. After vomiting, he and his sister scream in terror and run off to hide behind a patch of tropical palm trees, claiming that Slenderman is going to kill them.

Profanity

  • A girl tells her family that she is in jail "sitting there like a frog taking a poop". Her father angrily scolds her for her vulgarity.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • It is mentioned that Morgan may be made to take medications to treat her apparent schizophrenic illness.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • No actual footage of anybody being stabbed is shown, however the girls discussing their actions in detail may bother some viewers.
  • The scenes of a father discussing how he's very frustrated about his school pushing iPads being given to elementary school students in regards to his own daughter's actions after being left with a digital device unsupervised can at times be very emotional and intense.
  • The frequent pop-up imagery from online, especially the gorier of the footage, may frighten some viewers.
