From the first time Nora appears, she has had short hair, including at the beginning of this episode. Suddenly, towards the end, her hair is long past her shoulders and thicker than before.
Rosemary tells the visiting newspaper man they should go take pictures of the sunset. Bill Avery interjects that it is only 4 o'clock. Rosemary says it is always good to get an early start. However sunset in western Canada (Vancouver) is at 4:20 on the days just before New Years Day. So 4:00 is NOT early to get a camera set up for the shot.
The reporter asked Lee why he wasn't wearing a wedding ring. During the World Wars soldiers would wear wedding rings as a means of remembering their loved ones. The show is set before WWI, so the reporter really shouldn't be at all concerned that Lee isn't wearing a ring.
This episode is set around New Year's day, but there is no snow on the ground (possible, but not likely, in Canada) and everybody is dressed in light clothing more appropriate for October than December. The episode seems to have been filmed in September or October. Of course, the show never really states exactly where in Canada Hope Valley is, but the implication is somewhere near the Pacific coast. There, the weather is much more tepid, even in December and January. The internet states the the average high/low for Vancouver on New Year's day is 42 and 35 degrees.
The mystery of the pipeless water tower continues. Elizabeth uses a pump in Abigail's Cafe to get water, indicating that the town does not receive it's water from the tank, so the purpose of the tank is still unknown.
The mine shaft has always been very close to town, yet when Cody and Becky run away it takes them a very long time to get there.
Jack says that Mr. Campbell works "from sun-up to sun-set", yet he keeps picking his daughter up from school and it is still light out.
The doctor ask for ice "if you can find any". Finding ice anywhere in Canada in December shouldn't really be a challenge.
This episode is set during New Year's Eve in Canada, yet the weather appears to be summer and some people are outside without coats.
When hunting for a tree, Rosemary says it has to be "picture perfect", yet the tree they later plant in front of the church is rather scrawny.
