I personally didn't find this episode to be as good as most people make it out to be, but it was still nice. If nothing else, it was confusing how halfway they just abandon the Froogleland and go into mostly another plot. The best part might be Rick bonding with Beth. I guess it's hard to tell if Rick's got a heart of gold or not, but I suppose it just depends on the situation. My favorite joke from him was when he mentioned Stone Cold Steve Austin. He then realized that joke made no sense, but he was going with it anyway. I loved when the kid made fun of Morty leaving school and then questioned if he got his values right.
The scene at the very end and the very last joke in the entire episode is probably the funniest. I admit it's satisfying to see Rick get injured when it's mostly Morty. I guess the plot was just a little out of focus. It still ended up being pretty creative and I do like the jokes as always. There's this pretty good subplot where Jerry dates an alien that he later breaks up with. It's more interesting than the stuff with Beth and it does end up being relevant in the end. ***
