- Quotes
Cat: [the trio are conversing about Kryten having a mid-life crisis] What even is a mid-life crisis? I don't think us cats ever get them.
Rimmer: It's usually a point where people who are halfway through life are forced to confront their own mortality.
Lister: Put it this way: Have you felt "I've wasted my life"?
Cat: You? Sure. Every single day.
Lister: No, have you ever felt you've wasted your life?
Cat: No!
Lister: Have you ever felt "There's such much more I could've been?"
Cat: No!
Lister: Have you ever felt "If I went back in time and I had my time again, I'd..." forget it.
This is a reasonably enjoyable episode that I found contained an interesting theme and one clever concept but the humour mostly didn't work for me.
The plot is a very simple focus on Kryten examining his life and having a crisis which is quite amusing with lots of recognisable moments for anyone who has gone through this type of psychological state or witnessed someone going through it. My favourite bit comes near the end where the plot, in a comical way, connects to the entire universe.
Generally I found the comedy in this one to be mildly amusing throughout with a strong finish. It is largely a one joke episode but it depends on your own sense of humour as to how much you enjoy it.
All performances are solid with Robert Llewelyn on good form at centre stage.
