STYLISH, AMUSINGLY WITTY BUT EACH EPISODE IS A BIT REDUNDANT

Warning: Spoilers
I really like the premise and the main characters. The scenery is beautiful due to the subject of art and heists that take place in hotels and homes of spectacular interiors and architecture.

Allmen is played very well as is Carlos. The plots are good and each one builds on the previous episode and even though their business becomes recovering stolen art it kind of becomes redundant by Episode 3. Allmen and Carlos are very philosophical and the dialogue is well done and amusing but it kind of seems repetitive as it goes. The pace could be a tad quicker sometimes but it is slow mostly due to the nature of long conversations while dining.

Worth watching but I could only make it through 3 episodes because it seemed just more of the same.

Highly implausible, but very entertaining and beautiful to watch

This series deserves brownie points for originality. It has elements of other crime and caper films and shows, but I can't recall anything quite like it. The dialogue sparkles and is filled with interesting trivia and witty bon mots from everyone from Chinese philosophers to Herman Melville to tennis champion Ivan Lendl. There is art, intrigue, action and humor set in spectacular settings, indoors and outdoors, far removed from the ugliness of real life. Silly, but fun.

If I have a quibble, it involves the casting. The actor playing Allmen seems a bit old for the role. It's odd that beautiful, rich young women swoon over such a character and repeatedly come to his aid, given his age and appearance (not to mention the fact that he is perennially broke). If he were younger (or maybe if the women were older), it would be easier to imagine him as their pet. Similarly, the Bulgarian-born actor playing his side-kick Carlos doesn't seem like the Guatemalan immigrant he is supposed to be. Both actors are excellent, but I don't think they completely overcome the miscasting.

It's got it all and more...

Witty, detailed, funny, insightful, distinguished, beautiful, exciting, educational, fun, and all at a fast pace. Filmed in some of the most extraordinarily beautiful places it is a delight to the eyes, senses, and anyone who loves art, sneak-thiefs will get a kick out of this. Plus, it is superbly acted.

More please.

Rubbish, pure and simple!

This 2 part series tries too hard to be like "James Bond", with a suave leading man, but done German style. It falls flat.....badly! The humor is lost, possibly in translation where the subtitles come across in an almost Medieval type of English. The acting is pretty bad. I would guess this was produced for a local audience as it would not have global appeal. Not surprising there was just one series produced. Just not worth the watch at all!

Light and fun

This reminds me of the movie "Man From Uncle" Starring Henry Cavill. Totally tongue and cheek and a fun series. The lead is interesting as well as the other supporting characters. The scenery beautiful and the writing smart! I know it is - a certain sense of humor. I also appreciate that it is not trashy. Well done!!

Better than I expected

Well written farce, Unbelievable but certainly enjoyable. Great dialogue and it flows very well, for a normally plodding German series.

Far better than a lot of European offerings that doesn't take itself too seriously.

Great visuals of Switzerland and we'll filmed.

I liked it.
