Nathan uses theater law in order to bypass smoking laws in a bar. In order for this to work, he sets up a couple theater seats and a curtain for an audience to watch the night unfold. It turns out the audience is impressed and finds deeper meaning in watching a slice of life.
Nathan uses the footage of the bar to recreate the events that happened that night. He has actors audition for the roles and writes a script for the play. He expands the audience seating and prepares for the premier of Smokers Allowed.
The majority of the crowd found it dull and boring, including the bartender who didn't make the cut to play herself. Nathan works one-on-one with the romantic lead to help make her performance convincing. The effort put into the play is commendable. At the same time I'm left scratching my head wondering if it was worth it.
