As expected, Bruce Springsteen’s rumored Jeep commercial was the big highlight of this year’s Super Bowl ad haul, with The Boss making his first-ever appearance in a commercial. His music, however, remains an advertising holdout, as Springsteen opted to compose an original score for the two-minute spot with frequent collaborator Ron Aniello rather than license one of his hits.
Still, Olivier Francois, chief marketing officer for Jeep’s parent company Stellantis, was thrilled to finally team up with his white whale of all celebrity cameos. “It took me ten years to get him in, but once he was in, he was all in,” he told Variety’s Brian Steinberg over the weekend.

Jones has a long resume in film and television, including appearances on TV’s The Office and Parks and Recreation. She’s also been in such films as I Love You, Man and The Social Network, and cowrote the story of Toy Story 4. If you go back and watch Sofia Coppola’s “Lost in Translation” (2003), you’ll see that it’s lost none of its shimmer — that airily crafted blend of mood and moment, location and dislocation, all wrapped around the delicate tale of two souls who didn’t know they were lost until they found each other in the floating limbo of the Park Hyatt Tokyo. “On the Rocks,” Coppola’s seventh film as a writer-director, marks her creative reunion with Bill Murray, the costar of “Lost in Translation” (which Murray regards as his favorite of his own performances). And so it’s only natural that we go into it hoping for some older-and-wiser version of the same magic. When we first see Murray, he’s in the back of a chauffeured Mercedes, and he looks sensational. The eyes, with their hound-dog melancholy, still twinkle with mischief. There’s a touch more gravel in the voice,...

To be frank, I was a straight-up blubbering mess during the entire Schitt's Creek series finale, but my tears flowed the hardest when Patrick Brewer serenades David Rose with "Always Be My Baby" at their wedding. And it looks like the song's Og artist, Mariah Carey, had a similarly emotional reaction to the sweet moment.

David and Patrick's highly anticipated wedding day finally arrives, but it's torrentially downpouring, leading them to relocate their outdoor ceremony to the town hall. Billie Eilish has officially filed her James Bond theme, and for anyone who worried that she was too young — dare it be said, too green — for the task, there was no need to worry. The 18-year-old gets it, even if she wasn’t yet born when the Broccolis were commissioning what some of us still think of as “late period” Bond themes from the likes of Garbage and Sheryl Crow. The teen with the Midas touch has not picked this occasion to develop a cold finger.

A thoughtful meditation on liberation, egg sandwiches and glitter bombs, “Birds of Prey” (subtitled “And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn”) is a giddy treat of an R-rated comic-book movie, borrowing elements from inspirations as disparate as “9 to 5,” Bugs Bunny and Modesty Blaise to create an adventure that tweaks its genre familiarity with delightful bursts of anarchy and wit.
A sort-of sequel that soars far above “Suicide Squad,” this fresh follow-up wisely puts the spotlight on Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) as she carves out (sometimes literally) a new life for herself in the aftermath of her breakup with the Joker. In discovering the power she’s always had to stand on her own two feet, and in freeing herself from trying to please the dysfunctional man in her life, she even manages to make some new female friends along the way.

Did Meredith deserve to go to jail, or was it unfair since she had a valid reason for missing court?
Meaghan: For this particular issue, she does not. As you said, she had a valid reason, and I think that her daughter having emergency surgery would be enough to get her out of trouble for it.
However, maybe the judge was looking at everything as a whole and figured it was just another moment in a pattern of behavior.

Daniel Kaluuya is teaming with Mattel Films to produce a new live-action Barney the Dinosaur film.
Barney, the eponymous purple dinosaur of popular 1990s PBS children’s program Barney & Friends, appears to be next in line for a comeback in an era in which comebacks are nigh-obligatory and retro reigns supreme. In this case, the recently-minted toy company studio arm, Mattel Films, is developing a new live-action film project, joined in the endeavor by, intriguingly enough, Oscar-nominated Get Out and Black Panther actor Daniel Kaluuya. – And no, this won’t be a bizarre, satirically-laced Jordan Peele-directed horror rendition.
It has been announced that the untitled Barney live-action revival movie is in development from producers in the aforementioned Mattel Films along with Kaluuya via his 59% banner, also represented by his partners, Rowan Riley and Amandla Crichlow. Also onboard to produce are Valparaiso’s David Carrico, Adam Paulsen and Bobby Hoppey.

After a four-month hiatus, Saturday Night Live is back, and Billie Eilish is already making me tear up with her heartfelt performance of her hit song "I Love You." Eilish's 22-year-old brother Finneas joined her on the stage, and the siblings wore matching outfits as they sang their hearts out in front of a twinkling, star-covered backdrop.
In addition to Finneas's gentle guitar strumming and the pair's angelic harmonization, Billie and Finneas also exchanged a few sweet smiles in between vocals, resulting in a heartwarmingly emotional performance. The best part? Finneas claps for Billie at the end and gives her the cutest proud big brother look. Aw! Watch the siblings' sweet performance in the video above!

For her premiere appearance on “Saturday Night Live,” Billie Eilish almost literally bounced off of the walls while performing her hit “Bad Guy.”
Performing on a scaled-down version of the familiar “SNL” set, Eilish seemed to be walking on walls and then the ceiling while brother Finneas and a drummer — all in matching outfits — were initially shown in odd camera angles. Eventually the cameras pulled back to reveal Eilish performing inside a large box that rotated throughout the song, while her brother and the drummer played in front of it. It was a tricky performance that Eilish nailed without missing a beat.
Although it seems unlikely that the rotating box will be brought on the 2020 arena tour that Eilish announced last week, the performance showed what an accomplished live performer she has become.
She clearly has a fan in show host Woody Harrelson, who introduced her first as “incomparable” and...

The Last Word: Rúnarsson Sketches Mosaic of Modern Iceland in Varied Vignettes
Had each of the 56 segments of Echo, the third film from Iceland’s Rúnar Rúnarsson, been helmed by a different director, it would have been an omnibus fashioned into something like Reykjavik, I Love You. Instead, these unrelated single shot snippets of contemporary lives in Iceland around the Christmas season results in a sometimes touching, often austere portrait of the ups and downs of a particularly prime emotional occasion. Like a Roy Andersson film without the requisite absurdity, Rúnarsson abandons the linear narratives of his previous features Volcano (2011) and Sparrows (2015) and runs a gamut of narrative kernels (the central characters from those previous works could have fit into this panorama as well).…...

SandalwoodDirector Maurya Dn clarified that the film is not a sequel to Upendra’s 2008 movie ‘Buddhivantha’.Digital NativeDigital NativeThe makers of Upendra’s upcoming film were having a tough time picking up a title for the project. Now we learn that, after much deliberation, the director finally has chosen Buddhivantha 2. On this, director Maurya Dn told Cinema Express, “From the time I started my script, I had Buddhivantha and Pithamaha in mind. Since one of Upendra’s films was already titled Buddhivantha, I was looking for another name. But I came back to Buddhivantha since the title fits the story. We had no choice but to with this.” While this gave rise to speculation that the film may be a sequel to Upendra’s 2008 blockbuster movie Buddhivantha, the director confirmed that it is not so. Upendra will be playing dual roles in this film, which has Sonal Monteiro and Meghana Raj as the female leads.
