Chris Penn, who is one of the owners of Good Records, is not the late actor and brother of Sean Penn.
Good Records' other two owners are Tim DeLaughter and Julie Doyle of The Polyphonic Spree. Chris Penn also manages The Polyphonic Spree, and formerly managed Tripping Daisy, also fronted by Tim DeLaughter.
The original Alice Cooper lineup included Glen Buxton on guitar. Glen died in 1997, prior to the group's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Alice Cooper's current guitarist, Ryan Roxie, stood in for him for the Good Records show during filming. Glen's portrait can be seen hanging on the bathroom door of the store during the performance.
The film held its world premiere at the Phoenix Film Festival on April 5, 2019. Phoenix is where the band met and first performed together. Alice Cooper and Michael Bruce still live in the area.
