- Bucket needs to get to Dodger before Fagin's cronies, so he uses Nancy to get him to the Three Cripples, but it looks like Dodger would rather face the noose than betray Fagin. Compeyson makes Arthur an offer he can't refuse.
- Bucket switches his investigation to the Artful Dodger on the evidence that he gave Fagin Marley's wallet but Nancy and Sikes spring the lad from prison. Honoria tells Hawdon that she is carrying his baby but Frances advises her to leave town to have the child and swears Mrs Gamp to secrecy. Bumble's job interview goes badly whilst Compeyson tries to pay Arthur off and the Cratchits rally around the invalided Tiny Tim.—don @ minifie-1
- Arrested by Bucket, Dodger says that he stole Marley's wallet when he thought the man was senselessly drunk, but Bucket puts him in a cell. Honoria discloses her pregnancy to a happy James. Frances says Honoria will go to the country and she will arrange a minister and bribes Mrs Gamp in money for gin to keep quiet about Honoria's pregnancy. Compeyson persuades Amelia to buy Arthur's shares at twice their worth, thus paying off his debts and returning him to the life of a gentleman, then tells Arthur that he is released from what is now his scheme alone. Bill and Nancy use their wiles to spring Dodger from jail. When the trustees ask what his first moves would be, overanxious Mr Bumble, trying to demonstrate his merciless disciplining style, splits his too-snug suit in the back. Peter, ashamed of his penury, tells Nell that he is too busy to see her. Venus gives Bob a crutch for crippled Tim. Before he goes on the run, Dodger tells Sikes where Fagin keeps his cash..—KGF Vissers
