The rock star aliases Sam and Dean use in this episode, Elliott and Savage, are a reference to Def Leppard members Joe Elliott and Rick Savage
Dean references Looney Tunes twice in this episode; first when he refers to the man in the bunny mask as a "wascally wabbit" like Elmer Fudd, and again when he says "What's up, Doc?" to the bunny mask, like Bugs Bunny. Sam references Who Framed Roger Rabbit in the same conversation by calling the bunny man Rog and saying "I was framed!".
Third appearance of Sheriff Donna Hanscum portrayed by Briana Buckmaster.
When Donna calls Dean, his response is, "What do you mean killer bunny?" This is a reference to the killer bunny in Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975).
When Sam and Dean are at Rita's house and she shows them a picture of Chester in a clown outfit, Sam gets nervous and quickly hands the picture to Dean. This is due to Sam's well established fear of clowns.
