Warning: Spoilers
This episode sees Professor Jasper Teerlinck helping the police when a school inspector is found murdered. It appears that her husband has a cast iron alibi so immediate suspicion falls on a teacher who had recently confronted her after she criticised the methods he'd been using all of his career. Jasper does not believe he is guilty though. There are other possibilities; a young teacher who is a little too close to his female students and a headmaster who is fearful that a bad report from an inspector could ruin his school's reputation. Away from the case a reporter wants to interview Jasper, something his boss at the university is a little concerned about, and it emerges that Chief Inspector Paul Rabet is drinking heavily while on duty.

Things get off to a deliberately bleak start as we see Professor T talking about a particularly nasty event that took place during the holocaust. The tone soon lightens when we hear that a reporter wants to interview Jasper; he clearly doesn't want to be interviewed but is happy to let his boss think he might do it… this plot thread comes to an hilarious conclusion later in the episode. The central story is interesting with plenty of possible suspects and while the ultimate identity of the killer isn't obvious it is explained in a way that makes it plausible. The plot involving Paul Rabet's drinking looks set to a multi-episode thread; so far it is sensitively handled and will be interesting to see how it ultimately resolves. Overall this was another impressive episode which provides some good laughs, character development and an intriguing mystery.

Stuffy to a T.

This really is top notch The humour and the drama are still there and we get to know more about the lives of the characters. The stuffy professor is the star but the persobal sadness of Annaliese and her boss in particular make you care about the characters. Hope this can be kept up.

Warning: Spoilers
This episode begins with a fictional event that is portrayed as fact. The most important aspect is never mentioned: all of the killers were so-called "white people." That may not seem important at this point. However, during the second season Professor T AGAIN talks about murderers having a certain genetic profile. And once again he fails to mention the majority of serial killers are Neanderthals, i.e. White people. So the Professor T show consistently talked AROUND killer DNA but never directly addressed it.

During this episode we see Paul drinking and that's a train wreck waiting to happen.

The basic story was OK and even contained some moments that caused me to laugh out loud.

However, of the first three episodes, this one was the weakest. Nevertheless, this particular episode was better than any episode of Engrenages.
