Wonder Woman is perhaps the DC character most deserving of her own game. Batman and Superman have had their own games in the past, as well as Justice League and Injustice games, which feature a wider variety of heroes to play as.
There is a ton of potential for the Wonder Woman game. Swordplay, the in-depth world of DC, and the potential for the Lasso of Truths or Wonder Woman's bracelets make her a perfect candidate for a game. There are any number of genres the game could explore, most notably perhaps a fantasy RPG, or an action-adventure affair.
The world of DC, more specifically the world of Wonder Woman, is the perfect setting for an RPG or adventure game. Even just Themyscira is the perfect place to play host to a swordplay-based adventure.

Without a doubt, Mortal Kombat has become one of the most disruptive and controversial franchises in the history of video games. It was first launched in the early 1990s, and its extreme violence and explicit visual content sparked backlash from the more conservative communities in the United States.
Years later, it has established itself as one of the most successful franchises in the industry and continues to produce new games regularly.
One of the masterminds behind this success is Ed Boon, who remains at the helm and whose cameos have appeared in various games in the series. Some players had only recently discovered these references and were surprised to find them.
Players Are Surprised to See Ed Boon Appear in Different Mortal Kombat Games
Despite the passage of over 30 years since the release of the first Mortal Kombat game, every new generation continues to explore the history of the saga.

Looks like the Fgc wants Injustice 3. More than 7 years have passed since the release of the last title in this franchise, but it seems that with work on Mortal Kombat 1 complete by this year, NetherRealm Studios is ready to embark on their next big Aaa project.
In a new job listing on Warner’s official site, the studio is seeking an expert in cinematics, which could indicate a possible Injustice 3. We all know who Superman is.
Superman, created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Schuster in 1938, wasn't the first superhero character in modern media, but he tends to be held up as one of the genre's central archetypes. His red wrestler's cape and red strong man's trunks, paired with his super strength and ability to defy gravity, have all become central symbols of what a superhero is, how a superhero should behave, and what a superhero looks like. Hundreds of thousands of superheroes have been invented since 1938, but many of those produced by mainstream comics outlets like Marvel or DC owe Superman a direct debt. In the same way that every on-screen Dracula is a riff on Bela Lugosi's performance in Tod Browning's 1931 movie, Superman is either being enhanced or subverted by every comic book superhero character. But he is the mainstay.

Speaking to The Direct at San Diego Comic-Con, renowned game director Ed Boon offered fans some hope regarding the potential release of Injustice 3.
Developed by Boon's studio NetherRealm, the Mortal Kombat creator has ventured beyond his brutal fantasy universe in the last decade-plus, using his team's fighting game prowess to take a stab at the world of DC Comics.
The fruits of these efforts have been the Injustice titles, a pair of fighting games from the beloved studio released in 2013 and 2017. However, more than seven years after the last entry into the franchise, fans are clamoring for more.

In recent times, layoffs have unfortunately become a common occurrence in the video games industry. Mortal Kombat‘s NetherRealm Studios is not an exception as it recently released quite a few employees, including its mobile division team in an attempt to restructure.
In a surprising turn of events, Injustice 2 is standing firm with its community and will continue to get support from the studio. However, this was not the case for Mortal Kombat: Onslaught as it announced that the game would be shut down in September.
Injustice 2 Stands Strong Amidst Mortal Kombat Onslaught’s Closure
The Mortal Kombat series has been the defining factor of the NetherRealm Studios for decades due to its engaging combat and iconic characters. In contrast, Injustice 2 has explored a different narrative, as it follows the DC Comics superheroes and villains packed in intense conflicting yet immersive world.

Mortal Kombat and Injustice are franchises that people always seem to have an on-and-off relationship with. With some great and a few not-so-great titles, it feels that NetherRealm could never truly establish its footing properly within the Fgc and the larger gaming community.
Perhaps it is the by-product of the same that we’re witnessing today, as the studio’s shocking decision to shut down one of its most significant cash-cow subsidiaries has left fans wondering just what’s in store for this team’s future.
NetherRealm Studios Has Unceremoniously Shut Its Entire Mobile Team
It’s only been a few days since the people behind Mortal Kombat teased fans with a potential spin-off, assuring people that the franchise, and by extension, the studio’s future, is as bright as it gets.

As the hype for NetEase Games’ upcoming “superhero team-based PvP shooter” Marvel Rivals reaches a fever pitch, fans are already dreaming up more ways to immerse themselves in the game’s unique universe.
While the promise of epic multiplayer battles has everyone excited, there’s one thing that could take Marvel Rivals from a hit game to a true multimedia sensation: a tie-in comic series.
The Power of Tie-Ins
The idea of a Marvel Rivals comic might seem like a no-brainer, but it’s worth looking at the success stories that have come before. DC‘s Injustice series, which expanded upon the lore of the fighting game franchise, was a massive hit with fans, offering a glimpse into the characters’ motivations and the events that shaped the game’s alternate universe.

Superman may be colloquially known as "The Big Blue Boy Scout," but sometimes, he can be straight up villainous. Sure, he's saved Metropolis (and the world) more times than any individual can count, however, that doesn't excuse his moments of cruelty and authoritarian-brand of justice.
The most interesting aspect of Superman as a character derives from his immortality on Earth. Short of using Kryptonite, our measly human-made weapons never account for much damage against the Man of Steel. The only thing stopping Clark Kent/Superman from taking over the world or causing serious harm is his sense of righteousness.
While Supes, for the most part, doesn't allow his ego or greed to corrupt him, he's certainly made some questionable decisions across his nearly-90 year history. As we prepare for the cinematic return of Superman with James Gunn's "Superman: Legacy," let's remind ourselves that even our most morally straight hero falters.

Stephen Amell played the role of Oliver Queen a.k.a Arrow in the CW’s Arrow. The project spawned the Arrowverse which included shows such as The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, and Supergirl, among others. However, Amell’s Arrow was the one that started it all and has an enduring legacy as it introduced many DC characters to the mainstream.
While the show ended in 2020 after eight seasons, creator Marc Guggenheim reportedly had a different idea for the ending of the series. Guggenheim mentioned that while he always intended for Oliver Queen to die in the series, he wanted him to be a legendary presence, inspiring other vigilantes in the DC universe including Batman.

Batman and Superman have a long-standing rivalry in the DC comics. Often found at different ends of an opinion, the two superheroes rarely seem to see eye to eye when it comes to more radical themes. While they have butted heads quite a lot of times, even in the live-action Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the two superheroes have eventually come together when the greater good of the world is involved.

One of the many controversial aspects of the Suicide Squad game by Rocksteady Studios is how it handles the eventual fate of the beloved DC character Batman. Many fans of The Dark Knight expressed their frustration with how disrespectfully Kill the Justice League treats him, and although his ending was clearly hinted at from the title of the game, the way it’s executed doesn’t sit right with the community.
However, for those looking to experience better Gotham stories, Warner Bros. Games is celebrating Bruce Wayne’s birthday week with an extraordinary sale on Steam, which includes plenty of video games that feature The Caped Crusader at massive discounts.

Reading Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong, the new intercompany crossover between DC Comics and Legendary Films, is like watching a 12-year-old win a $25,000 shopping spree: toys joyfully piled atop each other while you wonder how they’re all going to fit in his room. Talking with Jlgk writer Brian Buccellato, one gets the sense that writing it is the same way. “The struggle is we have 30 pages per issue to fit the story in, and the big, giant monsters, we want to give them space,” he tells Den of Geek magazine. “How do I navigate the big moments and the opportunities for Christian [Duce, artist on Jlgk] to [draw] awesome pinup action shots with getting everybody in there and making sure they all get their due?”
The answer to Buccellato’s question is, apparently, to shout Yolo and keep escalating. The book reads like a gleeful “yes, and” exercise. Toyman...

We used to call games like this “shovelware.” Hellboy Web of Wyrd wasn’t made to do much more than attract fans of the character. It kills time, and that’s about it.
It’s honestly a shame. This might be the single best video game recreation of Hellboy creator Mike Mignola’s atmospheric art style. The cel-shaded graphics and heavy use of shadow make Web of Wyrd, in its best moments, look exactly like the comic. It also features the late Lance Reddick as the voice of Hellboy, and Reddick never had a poor performance in his life.

A fighting game kind of needs to have a storyline for the sake of identity. Not just for the characters, but for the world itself. Who are these characters and why are they fighting? Why are they fighting again? And again?
Usually, these lead to fun B-movie plots that can carry a game or two. Sometimes the sequels just retread the same plot over and over (ie. the Soul Calibur games and King of Fighters), but Mortal Kombat has been able to hold its own for over 30 years due to embracing its own wacky mythology and finding ways to be fresh. Even when they’re literally redoing an earlier story!
There’s a reason why the Mortal Kombat story has been told in different forms. There have been 11 fighting games plus upgrades that are part of its canon and a few side games. As video games have advanced, so has the storytelling.

Like it or not, superhero characters are a part of everyday entertainment nowadays. You don’t need to be a comic book reader anymore to have at least basic knowledge about the most popular superheroes, such as Batman, Superman, Spider-Man, and Wonder Woman. Even B-list characters such as Guardians of the Galaxy and the Suicide Squad aren’t so unknown among the general audience anymore, thanks to the growing popularity of superhero characters through movies, television series, and video games.
The most popular video games based on Marvel and DC publications today are arguably Rocksteady’s ‘Batman: Arkham’ franchise and Insominac’s ‘Marvel’s Spider-Man’ franchise, but some other video game developers also developed games such as ‘Marvel’s Avengers,’ ‘Gotham Knights,’ and ‘Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.’ Also, many upcoming video games are currently in development.

In modern Hollywood, it’s not uncommon for WWE stars to become movie stars, mainly because they have already built their reputation and recognition as celebrities through WWE. Superhero characters are a vital part of entertainment these days. Not only are we getting numerous live-action and animated movies and TV shows, but there are also plenty of video games that are based on characters that Marvel Comics and DC Comics spawned. One of the most known is the fighting video game ‘Injustice: Gods Among Us,’ which was released in 2013 and followed by the sequel ‘Injustice 2’ in 2017.
The ‘Injustice’ franchise was created by NetherRealm Studios, a company known for modern ‘Mortal Kombat’ games, and since Mortal Kombat is spawning another game every few years, there have been many questions and requests from fans for another ‘Injustice’ game. It’s been six years since ‘Injustice 2’ was released, and we can see how ‘Mortal Kombat’ has been getting another sequel every four years since the studio acquired the franchise from Midway Games.

One of the most memorable faces in horror history, Robert Englund remains a rare example of a genre actor that no director would dare to hide under a mask. Sure, his signature role as the clawed dream demon had Englund performing under several layers of intricate makeup, but it was still his iconic expressions and mannerisms that turned Freddy Krueger into a household name.
However, one of the actor’s many talents is rarely acknowledged when looking back on his decades of contributions to genre media, and that would be his penchant for villainous voice-acting. For decades now, the sultry sounds of Robert Englund have been bringing all manners of animated characters to life in cartoons and videogames. And with #RobertEnglundDay finally upon us, we’ve decided to come up with a list celebrating six of Robert’s most memorable voice roles.

Showrunners Michelle and Robert King have been in the Emmy conversation for 13 consecutive years: The past six for The Good Fight, starring Christine Baranski in a role she originated on their Og legal drama, The Good Wife, which was an awards contender for each of its seven seasons.
The creative and married partners first teamed in 2006 on a police procedural called In Justice for ABC, which lasted one season. In 2009, CBS picked up Good Wife, which starred Julianna Margulies as Alicia Florrick, the wife of a state attorney (Chris Noth) who is forced to return to her law career after her husband becomes embroiled in a sex and political corruption scandal. It was judged an instant hit, with THR‘s review declaring, “There could not be a better choice for the title role of Alicia Florrick than Margulies. DC is hoping to turn a lot of moviegoers into fans with a slightly lesser-known character this summer when "Blue Beetle" hits theaters. But it's not like nobody knows who this superhero is, as he has had a presence in the comics, animated shows, and -- more to the point -- the games for quite some time. To that end, the director of the upcoming film, Angel Manuel Soto, took direct inspiration for the hero's costume from the "Injustice" video games.
/Film's Jenna Busch was recently on hand for a "Blue Beetle" trailer premiere event. During the proceedings, Soto was asked about the character's costume in the film, which certainly looks a bit like the costume players are familiar with from the series of very popular fighting games. Soto did not deny that he took inspiration from the games and, moreover, revealed that Blue Beetle was his favorite character to play as:

Regardless of your interest in a movie about Pooh Bear and Piglet slaughtering scantily-clad hot tub enjoyers, there’s no denying that Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey offers a compelling look at the future of storytelling. For decades, the Walt Disney Corporation has controlled stories about Pooh and the gang from the Hundred Acre Wood, overtaking in the public consciousness even depictions by the characters’ creators A.A. Milne and E.H. Shepard.
But when their 1926 book Winnie-the-Pooh entered the public domain in 2022, creatives like Blood and Honey director Rhys Frake-Waterfield got the chance to put their own spin on the willy nilly silly ol’ bear. Frake-Waterfield has already indicated that he plans to keep working with public domain characters, including not only Pooh but also Bambi and Peter Pan.

Many saw Kevin Conroy as the definitive Batman. Before sadly passing in 2022, his gruff rasp as the Dark Knight came to represent the character for a whole generation of '90s kids. His work on "Batman: The Animated Series" was so widely loved that Conroy voiced the character in multiple other projects. Appearing as Batman in the "Arkham" and "Injustice" video games, the actor even showed up as live-action Bruce Wayne in "Crisis On Infinite Earths."

Late last year, Guardians of the Galaxy director and Howard the Duck enthusiast James Gunn joined DC Studios as the co-chair of film, TV, and animation. Recently, he laid out a roadmap for upcoming projects and also revealed his plans also extend into video games. On the one hand, his dreams are certainly ambitious. On the other hand, they might be too ambitious to the point of becoming self-defeating.
During a recent press event, Gunn and fellow DC Studios co-head Peter Safran discussed their plans for future DC Universe content. According to SlashFilm, the discussion turned to video games. While Safran said gaming will be a “big part” of their future plans, Gunn offered a few more specifics about DC’s gaming ambitions.

Sequels in the Fire Emblem franchise are a rarity. Most installments are standalone experiences players can enjoy regardless of how many prior entries they’ve tried, if any. Some games reference previous Fire Emblem titles, but these callbacks are usually little more than lip service, Sometimes, there are exceptions, which makes it difficult to tell whether a Fire Emblem game that includes these easter eggs is a sequel or not.
Nintendo announced Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes during February’s Nintendo Direct, and made it abundantly clear the game would play like the first Fire Emblem Warriors, and that Three Hopes was connected to Fire Emblem: Three Houses. It makes sense: not only are the titles similar, but the announcement video showed the house leaders Dimitri, Edelgard, and Claude devastating enemies in typical musou fashion. I don’t play video game so I am only peripherally familiar with Injustice, an Imaginary Story featuring the DC Universe. Similarly, I didn’t read the Injustice: Gods Among Us prequel comic book that apparently sold well enough to inspire Warner Animation to invest precious time and resources in adapting it to film. The resulting product, out now from Warner Home Entertainment, is an acquired taste.

Exhibitors who still believe that studios might settle on a 45-day minimum on theatrical exclusivity saw their hopes crushed by “No Time to Die.” A month after its release, United Artists debuted the title on Premium VOD at $19.99. The timing parallels Universal’s 31-day strategy for films that open over $50 million.
As anticipated, the latest James Bond immediately placed #1 on multiple charts, both those ranking by transactions and revenue (Vudu). The film remained at #4 in theaters over the weekend, with a 23 percent drop the second lowest among top 10 films. Once again, the home-viewing marketing push also appeared to benefit ticket sales.
Disney is #2 and #3 across the board, as represented by “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” ($19.99) and “Free Guy” ($5.99), respectively. Four other Disney titles, led by “Jungle Cruise” ($12.99) and “Black Widow” ($5.99), took 10 of the 30 positions on the charts. More impressive is that all but “Free Guy” now stream free for Disney + subscribers.

The incredible six-week dominance of “Free Guy” (Disney/$5.99) atop Video on Demand charts should come to an end this week, with the just-announced arrival of “No Time to Die” (United Artists/$19.99) on PVOD Tuesday. Shawn Levy’s film’s lengthy run has come at a time of less competition, but its play — both initially at $19.99, then later at $5.99 — has clearly added a major bounty to Disney’s coffers after an over-$120 million domestic box office. We have no access to specifics, but with the higher return from VOD than theatrical, it’s possible the studio saw a higher return from this. Notably, this came after a 45-day theatrical window.
“Free Guy” returns to topping all charts, a streak interrupted last week when “The Addams Family 2” (United Artists/$19.99) took #1 at Vudu, which ranks by revenue, not transactions, as do Apple TV/iTunes and Google Play. That was a Halloween response,...

With no official word on “Dune” viewership on HBO Max, the world of home movie viewing still belongs to “Free Guy” (Disney/$5.99). Shawn Levy’s non-franchise (so far) action comedy starring Ryan Reynolds is the first film to take the #1 spot for four weeks on all VOD charts we follow. At Apple TV/iTunes and GooglePlay, which chart transactions daily, it’s held the top spot each day without fail.
Disney reduced the price to $5.99 last weekend and it bested “Old” (Universal/$5.99), which also dropped its price from $19.99. M. Night Shyamalan’s thriller placed #2 on two charts, #4 at Vudu (which charts by revenue; it was second to “Free Guy” there among non-pvod titles).
Two of the year’s most acclaimed international releases — Julia Ducournau’s Cannes winner “Titane” (Neon/$6.99) and Mia Hansen-Love’s “Bergman Island” (IFC/$6.99) — debuted this week but didn’t come close to the top 10 on any chart.

Zack Snyder's deeply held fever dream of an uber-fascist Superman murdering people by the score and obliterating folks with his scary laser eyes was heavily inspired by the 2013 video game "Injustice: Gods Among Us" and its comic book spin-offs. Now fans can see that terrifying "Knightmare" world glimpsed in "Batman v Superman" and "Zack Snyder's Justice League," brought to glorious blood-soaked life in a new red band trailer for "Injustice," Warner Bros. Animation's latest DC feature offering. Just wait until you see this thing... "Superman is a dick" indeed. Just be aware that the clip is super Nsfw, as the animated film is...
