I'm a fan of the movies and love the way the series continues, seamlessly, where the movies leave off... which I think is rare.
The characters bring their roles to life with the same intensity and feeling and the plot and sub plots continue to confuse and intrigue.
There is a warmth and believability to all of the characters, even when seemingly a bit stereotypical, which keeps us looking forward to seeing them again and following their antics and the direction, cinematograpy and production values are still top notch.
The only truly unbelievable factor in the show is that Jack bounces back from all the beatings and even shootings he endures without barely a scratch. Sometimes, not even a scratch. This does take me right out of the moment for a beat or two but I soon get drawn back into the story, realizing the action can't be placed on pause while his character takes three to six weeks to recover in hospital and then walk with a limp.
I'm also glad that his love affair with Linda is an "off again on again" one as I don't think there is any chemistry between them and I have had serious doubts about her acting ability since "A Place To Call Home".
I definitely recommend the three movies and this series and I'm looking forward to Season 2.
